THE LIGHT CHURCH DEVOTIONALS - BY PST MARTIN CHOMBA.

TODAY'S DEVOTION ( MONDAY 23RD MARCH 2026).

Therefore, having these *promises* , beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God. 2 Corinthians 7.1.

WELCOME TO THE 82ND DAY OF THE YEAR OF RESTORATION.

Amazing day it is! This is the doing of the Lord. As we look forward to the end of the first quarter of this year, we can say that the grace of the Lord has been sufficient every day to supply us with our daily meal of His Word. For a man shall not live by bread alone, but by every Word that proceeds from the Mouth of the Lord.

Every time God sends His Word, it carries life and light. He sent His Word, which brought forth light and delivered them from destruction. His Word has the power to change any situation, no matter what it looks like. I mean, in the beginning, the earth was void, but God's Word framed it into the World we see now.

IF ANY SITUATION IS EXPOSED TO HIS WORD, CHANGE IS INEVITABLE.

But most importantly, we must know how to apply the Word of God in our life situations. Only in the application of the Word are results obtained. Most of our errors come either because we don't know the Word and the power therein.

Mark 12:24 Jesus answered them, “You are deluded because your hearts are not filled with the revelation of the Scriptures or the power of God.

The Word of God can only be applied through revelation. When you study the Word of God, you will come to know God's spiritual laws, promises, prophecies, and principles. In other words, the Word contains laws, principles, prophesies, and promises of God to His sons. It's therefore the responsibility of the sons to seek to appropriate them in their lives.

When you carefully look and meditate on the Word of God, the reality of the life God ordained for you is revealed in scriptures, the kind of life God intended for you, and the purposes of God for your life are made bare.

KNOWING THE PURPOSES OF GOD FOR YOUR LIFE MAKES YOU SQUARELY RESPONSIBLE

You can tell a man's future by the kind of responsibility he undertakes. Those who confess the Word and fail to do the Word are men building their life on sand. When storms, earthquakes, and winds blow, great is their fall.

Our devotional text says, Therefore, having these *promises* , beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God. 2 Corinthians 7.1.

Knowing God's promises makes you responsible for their fulfillment. You have to take an active, disciplined approach to spiritual maturity and to living a holy life. The grace of God never removes your responsibility of being faithful to God. Grace empowers us to do what pleases God.

Philippians 2:13 For it is God who worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

God's grace empowers you to do His will. Our response to His promises should be to cleanse ourselves from the filthiness of the flesh and spirit, maturing in the faith by practicing Holiness derived from the fear of God.

You have a responsibility to actively get rid of everything that contaminates your flesh and your spirit. Evil relationships must be ended.
Bad behaviors and addictions must be eliminated.
An evil character must be tamed.
The promises of God never make you passive. To be cleansed means turning away from evils and turning to God.

YOU CAN'T TURN TO GOD, WITHOUT TURNING AWAY FROM EVIL

For you can't serve two masters. The one you choose to obey becomes your master. You either choose to be a slave to evil o and be in bo***ge, or you choose to be a slave to righteousness and live in liberty and freedom.
Make your decision today to eradicate that which contaminates your flesh and your spirit. Choose life, that you may live.

MAKE THESE SCRIPTURES YOUR ADDITIONAL MEDITATION

Deuteronomy 30:19
I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:
Matthew 6:24
No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

THE LIGHT CHURCH DEVOTIONALS - BY PST MARTIN CHOMBA.

TODAY'S DEVOTION (SATURDAY 21ST MARCH 2026).

Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness? 2 Corinthians 6.14

WELCOME TO THE 80TH DAY OF THE YEAR OF RESTORATION.

In the history of war, no soldier entangles himself with civilian life without risking losing their position, their relevance, and, lastly, losing the battle. It is true today, in our Christian walk, that anyone who dares to play in both realms ultimately becomes the victim. You can't live and operate in both flesh and spiritual realms. If one has to be functional, the other realms must be suppressed.

WHEN THE SPIRIT IS STRONG, THE FLESH IS WEAK; CONSEQUENTLY, WHEN THE FLESH IS STRONG, THE SPIRIT IS WEAK.

You must therefore know how to put your fleshly nature into subjection to the Spirit. The body must be strictly presented as a living sacrifice unto righteousness and holiness.

1 Corinthians 9:26-27 I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air:
But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.

If you are going to win in spiritual battles, then our spiritual disciplines are a prerequisite. Grace doesn't make us reckless; it makes us responsible and disciplined. Grace gives no room for liberty to sin; it teaches us to deny ungodliness and live a Holy life.

Titus 2:11-12 For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,
Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;

There have been many wrong teachings about the grace of God in our days. Many wicked, false pastors and prophets have advocated grace that excuses sin. They go ahead to commit sins and sexual immorality with their members, only to claim that "we are all sinners."

No, I refute, we are not all sinners. We are a new creation, the old is gone, and the new has come. We have put on Christ, made holy and without blemish by the Righteousness of God through Christ. We must make a deliberate choice to live in the newness of this life in Christ.

JESUS DIDN'T COME TO IMPROVE OR RENOVATE OUR OLD NATURE, HE CAME TO GIVE THE NEW NATURE. THE NEW NATURE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS AND HOLINESS.

I must admit, we are not seeing much of this teaching nowadays. In fact, it is true among brethren that sinning is as normal as anything else. It's as if many never departed from their old, sinful nature. Many Christians are walking in the flesh and struggle to walk in the spirit.

You see, no condemnation is to them in Christ Jesus, but the scripture is quick to remind us that this is true only for those who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. When you walk in the flesh, in sense realms, driven by fleshly desires, you are already condemned.

You can't claim to walk in the light and have dealings with agents of darkness. You can't live both lives. You have to separate and be consecrated to God. You can't be yoked with evil and operate in righteousness.

Our devotional text says,
Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness? 2 Corinthians 6.14

Paul urged Christians to separate themselves from worldly involvement. This is true today; if you want to be effective in God's kingdom, separation is not optional. You can't walk with the wicked without compromising your integrity and your loyalty to Christ. Bad company corrupts morals.

This is true even for our young men and women looking for wives. You can't be a Christian and have a fond relationship with non-Christians. You can't be yoked to a worldly man or lady and fail to be lured into sexual immorality and lust of the world. You can't be a Christian and choose your mate among the pagans. Such marriages cannot be united on the most important issues, such as obedience to God.

Separation from the world involves more than keeping our distance from sinful practices. It means staying close to God. It involves more than avoiding worldly entertainment; it extends to how we spend our time and whom we spend it with. We are to resist the sin around us, without either giving up or giving in. Christianity means turning away from sin and turning towards God.

When you know what God wants you to do, you must make a deliberate choice to break clean with sinful activities, break free from wrong yoking, and cut off evil relationships and practices.
Make that choice now. To walk in Holiness and Righteousness.

MAKE THESE SCRIPTURES YOUR ADDITIONAL MEDITATION.

Psalms 1:1-2 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.
But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.

Colossians 3:8-10 But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth.
Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds;
And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:

TODAY'S DEVOTION ( FRIDAY 20TH MARCH 2026).

For it is the God who has shone in our hearts to give light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. 2 Corinthians 4.6)

WELCOME TO THE 79TH DAY OF THE YEAR OF RESTORATION.

When light comes, darkness disappears. Are you living in the Light that has been shone upon you?

This day, the Lord desires that your heart be illuminated by His light through Christ, the sun of the morning, the bright morning star, the hope of all Glory.

John 8:12
Once more, Jesus addressed the crowd. He said, I am the Light of the world. He who follows Me will not be walking in the dark, but will have the Light which is Life.

YOU CAN'T FOLLOW JESUS AND WALK IN DARKNESS

Our lack of followership explains why we remain engrossed in darkness in some areas. That's why some believers are still struggling with sin and to walk in Holiness. This explains why many Christian marriages are failing, why our business may not be thriving as we desire, and it explains our hardships and tantrums of life.

ANY AREA OF YOUR STRUGGLES YOU NEED THE LIGHT OF CHRIST TO SHINE UPON IT.

When we yield ourselves to the Spirit of God, He leads us into all truths, He reveals things that are yet to come, and He teaches us all things. This is the reality. Why, because the Holy Spirit is God, OMNIPOTENT, omnipresent, Omniscient. He searches the heart of God and knows what is in His heart, that He may perform it.
Do you know the Holy Spirit wants to shine the light of Christ into your heart?

It is the illumination light, the Revelational light, knowledge beyond human understanding, wisdom above earthly wisdom. The Bible says the Spirit gives life. This is the life of Christ in a man. Man infused in God and God infused in Man. It is the life of God flowing in a man.

YOU HAVE THE LIFE OF GOD IN YOU.

But knowing this is good, appropriating this life unto our lives is key. I believe many believers know this and confess this, but they live short of it. This is because it doesn't work automatically. There is a kind of spiritual growth demanded. Unfortunately, many remain babes in their understanding; they remain limited in the manifestation.

Revelational light gives man an edge above the ordinary. Many Christians are still seeking what has already been given. They chase after power and Authority that has already been given to them. Why, because they don't know how to appropriate this power and authority in their life. They know the Word of God, but lack the revelation knowledge to appropriate the same Word.
It's one thing to know God wants you to prosper in all things and in health. It's another thing to have it in reality.

It's one thing to know your healing is available; it's another thing to walk healed.
It's one thing to know that God wants your marriage to prosper, but you need wisdom, understanding, and knowledge to have your marriage built, established, and filled with good things.
Our devotional text says, For it is the God who has shone in our hearts to give light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. 2 Corinthians 4.6)

God has shone upon our hearts, so that we may come to the knowledge of His glory through Christ. You have been called to the glory and virtues. You have to Christ the hope of all Glory. You were predestined to live in this glory, not short of it.

But you have to allow this light to shine in our hearts. Sinful life is terminated at the shining of the light. Struggles end when His light shines in your hearts. The devil can't destroy a man who walks in revelations of God's Word.
But every time the devil finds a man living in ignorance, He devours them. When a soldier walks into a battleground unprepared and unarmed, they get killed. The wiles of the devil, the strategies and weapons of the devil, are very destructive to ignorant man.
We must be wise enough to detect the wiles of the devil. This wisdom only comes through Revelational knowledge.

God wants you to walk in victory to live in his glory, but you have to let His light shine upon your life. Stay in His Word until light breaks forth in every area of your life.

MAKE THESE SCRIPTURES YOUR ADDITIONAL MEDITATION.
Isaiah 9:2
The people who walked in darkness have seen a great Light; those who dwelt in the land of intense darkness and the shadow of death, upon them has the Light shone. [Isa. 42:6; Matt. 4:15, 16.]
Matthew 6:22-23
The eye is the lamp of the body. So if your eye is sound, your entire body will be full of light.
But if your eye is unsound, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the very light in you [your conscience] is darkened, how dense is that darkness!

THE LIGHT CHURCH DEVOTIONALS _ BY PST MARTIN CHOMBA

TODAY'S DEVOTION (TUESDAY 18TH MARCH 2026)

Fight the good fight of the faith; lay hold of the eternal life to which you were summoned and [for which] you confessed the good confession [of faith] before many witnesses.1 Timothy 6:12

WELCOME TO THE 77TH DAY OF THE YEAR OF RESTORATION

Do you know there is a fight called a 'good fight of faith'?

Glory be to God who has given yet another day, a brand new day it is, a new opportunity and chance given unto us to fulfill God's will and purposes.
It's amazing to realize that this day was preordained for you, even before the earth was laid. The day you were born was an important day in the calendar of God to bring to pass His mission and his purposes here on earth.

BUT NOW YOU HAVE BEEN ALIVE, ARE YOU FULFILLING HIS PURPOSE?

This is a thrilling question for us who believe. For the message of the cross is foolishness to them who are perishing, but unto us is power that changes lives, that positions men for greatness and blessing. It is the power of God unto salvation, total deliverance, and fulfilment.
If you don't live your life abreast with your divine destiny, you will get distracted from the way. When you lose sight of your prophetic destiny, restraints, discipline, and effort are abandoned.
Many live their life without considering their purpose in God. They walk in the humdrums of life just like anybody else. When you lose touch with your divine purpose, you become a wandering jackal. You die like a mere man, though you were made 'Gods.'

Psalm 82:6-7
I said, You are gods [since you judge on My behalf, as My representatives]; indeed, all of you are children of the Most High. [John 10:34-36; Rom. 13:1, 2.]
But you shall die as men and fall as one of the princes.
When you are in touch with your divine purposes in God, you become alert and watchful in every step you take, candid in your decisions, and strong in your battles. You understand that you are engaged in a spiritual warfare, with spiritual forces of darkness that are out there to distract you from fulfilling your divine mandate.

THE DEVIL IS ON A MISSION TO DISTRACT, TO HINDER, AND TO DESTROY YOU.

But when the devil plans destruction for your life, you must fight to devastate His plans. Our journey of faith will indeed be tried and tested, the temptations will be there to give up on the faith, to abandon your walk of obedience, and to follow fleshly ways.

But we must not allow ourselves to be lured into the devil's traps; we must be watchful to understand the wiles of darkness and dismantle them. There is no running away, there is no retreat in this battle. Winning is our position. The good part of our battle is that we are not fighting for victory; we are fighting from the position of Victory.
Jesus conquered all for us. He disarmed the devil, His power even of death, He released those who were held captives and made captors captives, and then made a public spectacle of their defeat.
Colossians 2:15 And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.
So now we have faith in what Christ has already done. And this faith overcomes the World. Our faith in God is winning; it never fails, and results are guaranteed any time, any season.

But we have to continue to fight a good fight of faith. Our devotional text says, Fight the good fight of the faith; lay hold of the eternal life to which you were summoned and [for which] you confessed the good confession [of faith] before many witnesses.1 Timothy 6:12
Our faith in God is anchored in His word. We have to lay hold of what is already written for us. Laying hold of eternal life, that we already have, the promises of God, and the blessings of God.
There, we become watchful in the battlegrounds. AS a vigilant watcher, you must be able to;

1. Use the spiritual faculties to discern movements of God and the frequencies, promptings, and insights of the Holy Spirit
2. Access the will, plans, and purposes of God
3. Discern the works of darkness and counteract them
4. Understand and interpret dreams and visions
5. Thicken defensive prayer hedges
6. Give a round-the-clock spiritual covering to yourself, your family, your children, your church, your community, your society, and your nation.

This is your responsibility; you have to show up in the battle strong in the Lord and fully armed for the victory. Our battle of faith is not for the faint-hearted; it is for the bold, courageous, and strong.
It is time to arise, brethren, and fight for the well-being of your people. Fight distraction, fight frustration, fight discouragement. May you stand out to be counted.

MAKE THESE SCRIPTURES YOUR ADDITIONAL MEDITATION
Nehemiah 4:14
And I looked, and rose, and said unto the nobles, and to the rulers, and to the rest of the people, Be not ye afraid of them: remember the Lord, which is great and terrible, and fight for your brethren, your sons, and your daughters, your wives, and your houses.
Ephesians 6:13
Therefore, put on God's complete armor, that you may be able to resist and stand your ground on the evil day [of danger], and, having done all [the crisis demands], to stand [firmly in your place].

THE LIGHT CHURCH DEVOTIONALS - BY PST MARTIN CHOMBA.

TODAY'S DEVOTION ( TUESDAY 17TH MARCH 2026)

And wisdom and knowledge shall be the stability of thy times, and strength of salvation: the fear of the LORD is his treasure. Isaiah 33:6

WELCOME TO THE 76TH DAY OF THE YEAR OF RESTORATION.

Hey! On what foundation is your life built on?
There are days in our lives when our foundations are tested, and times when our faith is put on trial. At such times, a careful evaluation of what our life is built on is Paramount if we are going to be victorious in our walk of faith.

Today is another day the Lord has given us to learn from our Master Jesus, following His way of Life. Our lives are being conformed to His image, and we are being changed from glory to Glory.

THE WALK OF FAITH IS NOT UPS AND DOWNS, IT WAS MEANT TO SOAR ABOVE ONLY.

God called us into His glory through Christ; we are supposed to be the fragrance of His wisdom and glory everywhere we are and in every place. The light to the world, the light in darkness, the hope to the hopeless, the love to the destitute, the pillar of strength to the weak, and terror to the wicked. The entire creation is waiting for your manifestation.

Romans 8:19 For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God.

The entire creation is eagerly waiting for the sons of God to bring forth salvation, solutions to their daily struggles, to bring them liberty, peace, and rest. It is therefore important for us to know the exact time. It is the highest time to awake from our sleep, for the night is far spent, our salvation is nearer than the time we believed.

YOU HAVE BEEN CALLED TO INFLUENCE THE WORLD AROUND YOU.

If we are not impacting the world around us, then the entire creation continues to wear itself out, striving to find the door. There are three breads of life that the world is seeking: The bread of love, the bread of hope, and the bread of faith. Above all, what the world is seeking is the bread of love.

But to provide these three breads of life, there must be a kind of wisdom and knowledge that is beyond worldly wisdom. There must be a f knowing, obtainable only through the Word of God, that makes us selfless—a kind of persuasion by faith to live a life beyond our selfish nature.

Our devotional text says,
And wisdom and knowledge shall be the stability of thy times, and strength of salvation: the fear of the LORD is his treasure. Isaiah 33:6
Wisdom and knowledge shall be the stability of our times. Wisdom will be your deliverance from troubles, and knowledge will deliver you from destruction.

The problems of our times can be overcome through wisdom, the troubles of our marriages can be solved through wise decisions, and financial hardships can be overcome by knowledge.
Knowledge enables us to know what to do in any circumstances, but wisdom helps us to apply the knowledge to our life situations. Do you know how your life would be effective if you always knew what to do in every circumstance?

The wisdom of God makes a man prosperous; the knowledge of God makes a man's life effective. Progress in life is dependent on knowledge. Mostly, our areas of limitation are knowledge gaps. We are destroyed because of a lack of knowledge.
But the way to access the wisdom of God is through fearing God. The Bible teaches us that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. (Prov 1.7)

Wisdom without the fear of the Lord is worldly and destructive. Knowledge without fear of God leads to pride. But any wisdom and knowledge anchored on the fear of the Lord is progressive and effective.
The wisdom of God prevails where man's wisdom is limited.
The wisdom of God overcomes where worldly wisdom is defeated.
The wisdom of God stabilizes where the wisdom of man fails.
You have to walk in the fear of the Lord if you are to operate in the manifold wisdom of God. You have to gather knowledge in His word. Knowing the principles, the spiritual laws, and promises of God for you is good, but it's only wisdom if you apply them in your life.

MAKE THESE SCRIPTURES YOUR ADDITIONAL MEDITATION.

Proverbs 18:1-2 Through desire a man, having separated himself, seeketh and intermeddleth with all wisdom.
A fool hath no delight in understanding, but that his heart may discover itself.
Ephesians 3:9-12 And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ:
To the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly places might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God,
According to the eternal purpose which he purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord:
In whom we have boldness and access with confidence by the faith of him.

THE LIGHT CHURCH DEVOTIONALS - BY PST MARTIN CHOMBA
TODAY'S DEVOTION (MONDAY 16TH MARCH 2026)

Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and through us diffuses the fragrance of His knowledge in every place. For we are to God a fragrance of Christ among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing. 2 Corinthians 1.14-15

WELCOME TO THE 75TH DAY OF THE YEAR OF RESTORATION.

Do you know that your life ought to be a fragrance?
Glory be to God, who made us and fashioned us for His glory. Nothing we have is ordinary; we are not ordinary men, we are peculiar people, a treasure in His eyes, the apple of His eyes, a chosen generation, a king, priest, ordained for his divine purposes. You are fearfully and wonderfully made for a reason. Today is another day, the day to glow in His glory.

YOU WERE PRE- ORDAINED FOR A PURPOSE, AND FOR THAT VERY PURPOSE HAVE YOU SEEN THIS DAY

It's unfortunate if you wake up to waste the time and opportunity that the Lord has given to you. It is a tragedy to live outside God's will and purposes for you. There are two important days in a man's life: The day he was born, and the day he discovers why he was born.

Discovering why you were born is key to living a significant life. Knowing "why" you exist, focus your attention on your mission. It is when vision is lost that men perish.

Proverbs 29:18
Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.

When you lose focus on the mission, you become a wandering animal, drifting in any way. Where there is no vision, men cast their restraint. If you find a reckless man, the first thing you will notice is that their vision and dreams are shattered and lost.

It is when you discover why you were born that you put your life in shape—your approach to everyday changes. You become purpose-oriented rather than problem-oriented. Your life becomes a triumph procession and display of God's glory and Wisdom.

WHEN YOU BECOME A MAN ON A MISSION, YOUR MANDATE BECOMES A TASK TO BE ACCOMPLISHED.

As we saw yesterday in our devotion, you were made to triumph through Christ, not to live as a victim but as a ruler. You have been called to dominate, not to be dominated. This is your true reason why you exist. God desires that your life become a fragrance of His knowledge in every place.

Our devotion text says, "Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and through us diffuses the fragrance of His knowledge in every place. For we are to God a fragrance of Christ among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing."

God always leads us in triumph in Christ Jesus and through us diffuses the fragrance of His knowledge in every place. Amazing!
God always makes his grace visible in Christ, who includes us as partners in his endless triumph. Through our yielded lives, He spreads the fragrance of the knowledge of God everywhere we go. We have become the unmistakable aroma of the victory of the Anointed One to God—a perfume of life to those being saved and the odor of death to those who are perishing.

Every place where you are is supposed to be filled with the fragrance of God. Through your union with Him and knowledge of Him, the place is transfigured with His glory and virtues.
Do you see how your marriage, your family, your church, your society, your business, your nation can be invigorated and infused with God's glory? Why is it not so?

If you never know how to appropriate this glory in your life, you will live short of His glory. If your union is shaky, you can enjoy the fullness of Christ.
He is the Vine, you are the branches. The only way a branch can bear fruit is to remain connected to the vine. If not, it withers.
You were meant for triumph and for Glory. Don't accept anything lower than that. You must remain connected to be fruitful in your life. You must remain connected to the Word, for it is the bread of life.

Let the fragrance of God's wisdom and knowledge shine in every area of your life. Let you become a fragrance of God in every place you find yourself in. May you triumph in Glory this day in Jesus Name

MAKE THESE SCRIPTURES YOUR ADDITIONAL MEDITATION.
Psalms 92:4
For thou, LORD, hast made me glad through thy work: I will triumph in the works of thy hands.
Colossians 1:9-11 For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding;
That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;
Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness;

THE LIGHT CHURCH DEVOTIONALS - BY PST MARTIN CHOMBA

TODAY'S DEVOTION ( SATURDAY 14TH MARCH 2026)

And there were four leprous men at the entering in of the gate: and they said one to another, Why sit we here until we die?
If we say, We will enter into the city, then the famine is in the city, and we shall die there: and if we sit still here, we die also. Now therefore come, and let us fall unto the host of the Syrians: if they save us alive, we shall live; and if they kill us, we shall but die.
And they rose up in the twilight, to go unto the camp of the Syrians: and when they were come to the uttermost part of the camp of Syria, behold, there was no man there.
For the Lord had made the host of the Syrians to hear a noise of chariots, and a noise of horses, even the noise of a great host: and they said one to another, Lo, the king of Israel hath hired against us the kings of the Hittites, and the kings of the Egyptians, to come upon us.2 Kings 7:3-6

WELCOME TO THE 73RD DAY OF THE YEAR OF RESTORATION.

What limits your progress?
What distracts you from your purpose?
There are times in life when key decisions must be made if progress is to be obtained. And this is one of the days that the Lord has made that you may decide to follow Him, a decision to do His will and to fulfill His purpose. It was predestined, and pre- planned, it didn't just come to be. God knew it even before, and our desire should be to do as He planned.

Whether you face this day in an unprecedented situation, tough, hard, or difficult. I want to assure you that all things are working together for your good, as long as you love God.

GOD NEVER BROUGHT YOU THIS FAR TO WASTE YOUR LIFE.

He has good plans to prosper you, to give you hope and a future. It was not accidental to see this day; it was in His plan. Your prayer should be like that of David.
Psalms 90:12 So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.

You must live your life with the wisdom that life is short and fragile, prompting you to maximize your time, purpose, and impact. It involves reflecting on the brevity of life, valuing each day as a gift, and focusing on eternal significance rather than wasting time.
Christian walk will never be impactful till we make decisions that are in tandem with our confession. Life will not be changed till we make a life-changing decision. Faith doesn't make us passive; it makes us active in the path and works depicted in the Word.

IF YOU DON'T MAKE WISE DECISIONS, YOUR LIFE WILL REMAIN STUCK IN A SITUATION.

I have come to discover that many get stuck in life, not because there are no solutions available, but because they choose to stay in their comfort zone and complacent over matters.
I pre-assume that the four lepers were just ordinary men who were facing unprecedented circumstances of their time. As a practice, if you became leprous, then you were to be separated from the community, outside the city gate. You were considered a bad omen to society, not worthy to relate with your relatives and others in society freely. You were an outcast, waiting for your day to die and rot. Nobody was allowed to touch you or come near you, rest they would get defiled by your infirmities.

Well, we think that was cruel, inhumane, and unacceptable. But I tell you, it's not different in our days today. Look at the way we never like being associated with the lowly, the poor, indigent in our society. No one to offer them a shoulder to lean on. We are judgmental, and we think that their problems are their own making. We leave them to carry their cross as we purport to impose.
You may be the one going through these right now. But let me assure you. When Men leave, God is present. Your help is in God, not in men.

YOU CAN'T CLAIM TO BE DEPENDENT ON GOD, IF YOUR EYES ARE FOCUSED ON MEN

The same way one of your eyes can't look up, and the other eye looks down, is the same way that one eye can't be on God and the other one be on men. You must decide either to look up to God alone or to focus on men.

Part of our devotion text says,
And there were four leprous men at the entering in of the gate: and they said one to another, Why sit we here until we die?
If we say, We will enter into the city, then the famine is in the city, and we shall die there; and if we sit still here, we die also. Now therefore come, and let us fall unto the host of the Syrians: if they save us alive, we shall live; and if they kill us, we shall but die.

Why sit down there and die? Why sit down meditating on failed marriage, failed career, failed business till you die? You have to decide to cast your burdens unto the Lord, because He cares.

Matthew 11:28-30 Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
You must make a decision not to stay there and die. Arise, shine, for your light has come. No matter your situation, there is a solution for you.
THE SOLUTION TO YOUR PROBLEM EXISTED EVEN BEFORE YOUR PROBLEM AROSE.

Make that decision today. Your destiny was predetermined, but your decision makes it a reality. You don't choose your future; your decisions choose your future.

MAKE THESE SCRIPTURES YOUR ADDITIONAL MEDITATION

Teach me good judgment and knowledge: for I have believed thy commandments.
1 Peter 5:7
