REASONS WHY I AM THANKFUL TO GOD:

Philippians 4:6-7, Reminds me not to be anxious about anything, but to bring everything to the Lord in prayer, with thanksgiving.

After I turned everything over to the Lord and started giving thanks to Him, faith filled me – and I received “the peace of God that surpasses all understanding” that verse seven promises. But when we are depressed and despairing, what can we thank God for?

I have learned that thanking God for the following can lift my heart to see above the problems of this world:

1. His beautiful creation.

When I praise God for something He made, it increases my joy. Jesus said, “Consider the lilies of the field … Even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these” (Matthew 6:28-29).

2.The provisions of life.

Even though we say grace, we may take the food we eat for granted. We’d enjoy it much more if we were grateful! The next time you eat one of your favorite foods, be thankful for its availability. Many people in the world only have plain rice to eat. When we think of our less-privileged, hungry brothers and sister in Christ, let’s pray, “Lord, give us this day our daily bread.”
Everything we have comes from God.

Ecclesiastes 5:19 says, “When God gives any man wealth and possessions, and enables him to enjoy them, to accept his lot and be happy in his work – this is a gift of God.” When we thank God for our families, our home, warm clothes and all the conveniences that make our lives easier, we are able to enjoy them even more.

3. Fellowship of the saints.

Wherever we Christians go, we can find brothers in sisters in Christ. That is His fellowship, His church. When we grieve or feel depressed, our brothers and sisters comfort us and pray for us. Their prayers help bring healing and wisdom and carry us through troubled waters on the wings of God’s grace. Many of us Christians take for granted our church, pastor, and fellow Christians. It is sad that we must be struck by some calamity before we realize the blessing our spiritual family can be to us.Our Lord has given us the fellowship of the saints for our enrichment and increase of joy. Colossians 3:16 says, “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.”

GOD WILL PLANT YOU ON A SOLID FOUNDATION

Isaiah 28:16

[16]Therefore thus says the Lord God, Behold, I am laying in Zion for a foundation a Stone, a tested Stone, a precious Cornerstone of sure foundation; he who believes (trusts in, relies on, and adheres to that Stone) will not be ashamed or give way or hasten away [in sudden panic].

You're not what we see in the outside.

FOUNDATION :

is the lowest lead - bearing part of a building, typically below ground level.

It's Also the stone or concrete structure that supports a building from underneath.

✓Good foundation Will Make a strong building, family, marriage, ministry and career.

✓Good foundation can lead to a Generational blessings or vise versa.

✓A good idea can become a foundation for a good and profitable business.

Isaiah 28:10

[10]For it is [His prophets repeating over and over]: precept upon precept, precept upon precept, rule upon rule, rule upon rule; here a little, there a little.
The Bible speaks about precept upon precept meaning you're as good as your foundation.

God is a builder.

Matthew 16:18

[18]And I tell you, you are Peter [Greek, Petros–a large piece of rock], and on this rock [Greek, petra–a huge rock like Gibraltar] I will build My church, and the gates of Hades (the powers of the infernal region) shall not overpower it [or be strong to its detriment or hold out against it].
From this Scripture ,we see Very clearly how God speaks of building a church upon the Rock.
The most important thing that we need to understand is that when God becomes our foundation in any part of lives( business, marriage, career and family) no gates of Hades or evil powers can overpower us.

✓The Word of God is the Rock.
Jeremiah 23:29
[29]Is not My word like fire [that consumes all that cannot endure the test]? says the Lord, and like a hammer that breaks in pieces the rock [of most stubborn resistance]?

The word of God is our Rock because it's the Power of God in our lives.John 1:1
[1]IN THE beginning [before all time] was the Word (Christ), and the Word was with God, and the Word was God Himself. [Isa. 9:6.]
God is the Rock of our refuge in every situations of our lives.

Psalm 18:46
[46]The Lord lives! Blessed be my Rock; and let the God of my salvation be exalted,
When God becomes your foundation everything you do must be tested and be measured by the word of God.Isaiah 28:16

In this scripture ,we see how every stone is tested, proved and tested.

What does it mean to Build on a Rock
✓To lay everything down to the word of God
✓To glue and cement all your endeavors with God's word
✓ Put God's word (promise) to your works. Joshua 1:8
[8]This Book of the Law shall not depart out of your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, that you may observe and do according to all that is written in it. For then you shall make your way prosperous, and then you shall deal wisely and have good success.

✓ Commit your works to God and you shall prosper.Proverbs 16:3
[3]Roll your works upon the Lord [commit and trust them wholly to Him; He will cause your thoughts to become agreeable to His will, and] so shall your plans be established and succeed.

John 15:5
[5]I am the Vine; you are the branches. Whoever lives in Me and I in him bears much (abundant) fruit. However, apart from Me [cut off from vital union with Me] you can do nothing.

- Jesus assured us that if we build our foundation on the Rock( Him) we are sure of victory. We can't fail when we abide on God's word. We are strong and steadfast in Him.

Declaration.

Thank you Lord Jesus for I am on the sure foundation even as you are my Lord and Savior.

I thank you for I am unshakeable and every wind of challenge will leave me stronger and unmoved. It is in Jesus mighty name that i pray!
Amen Amen Hallelujah.

In the Midst of the Mess :

Hagar and the God Who Sees:

Along a desert road, beside a remote, unnamed well, the angel of the Lord approaches a pregnant, abused, runaway slave named Hagar.

The young woman has reached a breaking point.

Wrapped in doubts and their own agenda, her masters, Abram and Sarai, had given her no choice but to become a surrogate mother to their child.

Once she conceived, conflict arose between Hagar and Sarai.

With Abram’s blessing, Sarai attacked Hagar with disproportionate cruelty, reasserting her position of power over her.

Hagar was abused and mistreated so severely that she fled into the wilderness. Hagar’s life has now been irreversibly altered, and her future looks bleak.

No doubt it surprises her that anyone—especially the angel of the Lord—would notice her.

How differently he speaks than her human masters! “Hagar, slave of Sarai, where have you come from, and where are you going?” (Gen. 16:8).

The Lord knows she is a slave, yet calls her by name. Surely it is strange to answer a personal question when she is accustomed to simply obeying instructions. Responding to the Lord’s question, Hagar jumps straight to her situation: “I’m running from my mistress Sarai” (Gen. 16:8).

A woman in her position has no social or economic clout.
Consequently, Hagar faces two undesirable options: return and suffer Sarai’s abuse, or brave the long road through the wilderness to Shur.

The desert spreads in every direction. Hagar only sees dead ends, but the angel of the Lord sees another way.

The angel’s response sounds harsh, even cruel: “Go back to your mistress and submit to her.” One cannot help but question—is God sending her back to submit to abuse? It is unlikely that a young, pregnant, runaway slave woman will survive the journey through the wilds of Canaan to a foreign land.

Knowing this, God does not abandon Hagar in the wilderness to succumb to the elements, wild animals, or worse at the hands of other travelers. He profoundly values her and the child she is carrying. In the midst of hopelessness and desperation, God sees Hagar—the runaway, the slave, the victim of abuse.

The Lord offers a promise with the instruction to return to Abram and Sarai’s household: “I will increase your descendants so much that they will be too numerous to count” (Gen. 16:9).

The meaning is abundantly clear—Hagar will live to see the birth of her child and reap a blessed future. Remarkably, God’s promise to the slave woman is similar to God’s promise to Abram: “a son who is your own flesh and blood will be your heir... Look up at the sky and count the stars... So shall your offspring be” (Gen. 15:4–5).

Hagar will become the mother of a mighty nation whose people will be as numerous as the grains of sand in the desert.

The angel continues, revealing that Hagar will give birth to a son: “You shall name him Ishmael [meaning “God hears”], for the Lord has heard of your misery. He will be a wild donkey of a man; his hand will be against everyone and everyone’s hand against him, and he will live in hostility toward all his brothers” (Gen. 16:11–12). No doubt, this is a questionable title for an unborn baby, but in biblical times as in present-day Israel, the wild ass evades harnesses and human domination. Ishmael will not be oppressed by slavery; he will be freer than free, entirely untamed.1 And considering that the laws of the day supported biological sons over surrogate sons, it is no surprise that Ishmael will live at odds with half-brothers, who will displace him from sole inheritance rights to Abraham’s estate. Ishmael’s life will not always be easy, but God will bless him. In the midst of a crisis pregnancy, God sees Hagar and her unborn child, and offers hope.

Hagar enters a relationship with God that reshapes her identity and her perspective of her circumstance. She is no longer just a slave, but an heir to God’s promise. There, beside the well, she proclaims, “You are the God who sees me... I have now seen the One who sees me” (Gen. 16:13).

1.She names the Lord “the God Who Sees.”

Hagar—the only person in Bible history to give a name to God—discovers that God sees and hears abused women.

2. She spreads word of the God she has met beside the well.

Her experience at the well becomes so widely known that, in time, the well comes to be called Beer Lahai Roi , meaning “spring of the living one who sees me.”

Acting in faith, Hagar returns to Abram and Sarai’s household with a different perspective.

Cast out into the wilderness once again, Hagar feels abandoned by God. And this time there is no well; only dry sand. As the sun burns high and the water runs out, she leaves her son by a bush.

She can’t bear to watch him die, so she walks a short distance away to mourn. But once again, God sees and hears.

The angel of the Lord finds her and comforts her, “Do not be afraid; God has heard the boy crying... Lift the boy up and take him by the hand, for I will make him into a great nation”

(Gen. 21:17–18). It is time for God to fulfill his promise. God opens Hagar’s eyes, and she sees a well of water.

She fills the skin with water and carries it to her son. Both mother and child survive, and in an act of splendid redemption, God makes their descendants a great nation.

In the midst of profound despair, when all hope seems lost, God sees Hagar and keeps his promise.

Ultimately, Hagar’s story is more than the story of a slave and her son. It is a story of God’s care for those who have no earthly hope.

On the heels of miserable treatment, perhaps at the hands of pious and religious people, abuse victims may be amazed to realize that they are not alone after all.

In their most trying hours, they may discover the Lord whispering to them by name, intimately concerned for them.

When they suffer because of events beyond their control, when they are cast out, and when they give up on life itself, they may be shocked that God hears their cries.

When they experience setbacks, it may delight them to know that the Lord walks the winding path of recovery with them, and has promised new life in Christ.

There is a God who sees us amidst the messiness of life—whether we are victims of abuse or pregnant teenagers with nowhere to turn, whether we’ve been disowned by our families or we’ve given up hope.

No matter what our situation, let us never lose hope in the promise that “in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us” (Rom. 8:37).

And most of all, let us remember that our God is the same God who saw Hagar in her distress. Ours is a God who sees.

Focus on Your Purpose, Not Your Problem.

“If by continuing to live I can do more worthwhile work, then I am not sure which I should choose. I am pulled in two directions. I want very much to leave this life and be with Christ, which is a far better thing; but for your sake it is much more important that I remain alive. I am sure of this, and so I know that I will stay. I will stay on with you all, to add to your progress and your joy in the faith.”
(Philippians 1:22-25)

When you stay focused on your purpose, not your problem, you can be happy even when life seems to be falling apart.

Paul was an old man when he was in prison in Rome.

He was a long way from home. He was awaiting ex*****on.

Everything has been taken from him — his friends, his freedom, his ministry, even his privacy, with a guard chained to him 24 hours a day.

It wasn’t exactly a happy time for Paul.

But there was one thing they could not take away from Paul: his purpose.

Paul made the choice to stay focused on his purpose, even when he had lost everything else.

What was his purpose? Serving God by serving others.

Paul says in Philippians 1:22-25,

“If by continuing to live I can do more worthwhile work, then I am not sure which I should choose. I am pulled in two directions.

I want very much to leave this life and be with Christ, which is a far better thing; but for your sake it is much more important that I remain alive. I am sure of this, and so I know that I will stay.

I will stay on with you all, to add to your progress and your joy in the faith”

You cannot control what other people do to you.
You cannot control what other people do around you. But you can control how you respond.

Talk It Over

What do you believe is your purpose in life?

How does your response to a difficult situation change when you realize that how you respond is your choice?

What distractions or influences are keeping you focused on your problem and not your purpose?

“Our purpose is to please God, not people.
He alone examines the motives of our hearts”
(1 Thessalonians 2:4).

God did not make you to be what somebody else wants you to be. God didn’t make you to be what your parents want you to be, what your girlfriend or boyfriend wants you to be, what your spouse wants you to be, or what your boss or your friends want you to be.

God made you to be you . If you’re going to become all you can be, you have to refuse to be defined by others.

The first resolution you need to make is this :

“I resolve that I will no longer let other people press me into their mold.

I’m going to be what God wants me to be.

I’m going to do what God wants me to do, and I’m going to fulfill the plan that God has for my life, not somebody else’s plan for my life.”

Friend, that is real success.

Real success in life is being exactly who you were created to be and nothing more.

Blessed week

*ANCHOR YOUR HOPE IN GOD, NOT IN CIRCUMSTANCES*

An anchor is a device usually of metal attached to a ship or boat by a cable and cast overboard to hold it in a particular place by means of a fluke that digs into the bottom. It is used by a captain to put the ship on hold. An anchor is simply a reliable or principal support. It is something that serves to hold an object firmly. When the captain reaches His destination, He puts the anchor down, so that he doesn’t slip into places he does not want to be. When a boat is anchored, it may move a little bit because of the waves and wind but the captain is not worried. He is simply relaxed because he knows that the anchor is down. The scripture tells us that hope is the anchor of the soul, what can keep your soul in the rightful place, what can make you to overcome obstacles and reach your destination in life is when you anchor your Hope in God and not in the circumstances.
When you anchor your Hope in God, nothing moves you. Problems and waves may come your way but you have your Hope strong in God.

Whenever you go through pains, loss, disappointments, never lose your Hope in God. Your emotions may be pulling you to bitterness but something is holding you back. An inner voice is telling you it shall be well, everything is going to be alright. This can only happen when you put all your Hope in God. There are also times when your dreams look impossible to achieve, and those negative voices keep telling you to stop, “it is not going to work out, you are wasting your time" etc most people at this time might give up but your attitude should be “ yes, I may not see a way but God is working in my favour, I know he is opening ways that no man can close. Sometimes when you anchor your Hope on God, He will make things happen where you think something will not happen. Sometimes when your prayers seem not answered: what you will simply do is to anchor your Hope in God. If you pull it up, you may drift into bitterness, discouragement and self pity. When you put all your Hope in God and meet Him every time both in good and in bad times, you make Him in charge of the situation. You will never drift again.

When problems knock on your door, whenever negative thoughts try to pull you away, your Hope in God kicks in. My question then is “where do you anchor your Hope? In circumstances? In those problems? On your boss? On your uncle? Have you drifted in the dark? Beloved, Hope in God never disappoints. Hebrews 11 said that faith is the substance of things hoped for, you can never have faith without first of all having hope.

When David was worried and depressed, he said to himself “why are you cast down my soul, why disturbed within me, put your Hope in God, I will praise him still” ( psalms 43:5). David here recognised that His circumstances convinced him to pull away his anchor but he convinced himself to put all his hope in God.
You may have every reason in the natural plane to be bitter and disappointed, it looks as if nothing is going, you are not going to get well, get that job, get your partner, start your business, to get school fees, to get capital to start a business, to get healed and stand on your feet again, to enjoy your bitter marriage...... never put your Hope in that negative voices, whether good or bad, do like David and keep your Hope strong in God. Never in your life allow circumstances to control you, rather allow God to do the needful.

Never put your Hope on people, they may let you down, never put your Hope in Circumstances, they may not turn out the way you thought. Never put your Hope in your career or business, things may change, never put your Hope in that sickness, miracle still occur, never depend on your beauty, beauty fades, put all your Hope in God who spoke things into existence. When you have your Hope in God, the bible says you Will never be disappointed (Romans 5:5, Romans 10:11).

Joseph had ample opportunities to lose hope in God. He was betrayed by His brothers, thrown into a pit, sold into slavery and was falsely accused. He could become negative, angry, and disappointed with God but He kept His faith in God. The obstacles may look bigger, more powerful but like David and Joseph you have to keep your Hope still alive. You believe strongly that nothing can sn**ch you out of God’s hands. The one who breathed in life in you. The only one who can make blind eyes see, in that God who took Joseph from the pit to the palace, in that God who made David a young boy to defeat a huge giant.
When you find yourself negative, worried, that it’s not going to work out, it is because you put your Hope in the circumstance. Instead of dwelling on negative thoughts, turn them around and say “ Father I thank you that your answer is already on the way, thank you that your healing is coming” keep your Hope in God still intact.

God promised Abraham that His wife Sarah is going to have a baby. At this time, they were already aged. It was practically impossible, such kind of thing has never happened, Abraham could have dismissed it , He might have talked himself out but Romans 4:18-20 says for Abraham, human reason for hope being gone, hoped in faith that he should become the father of many nations. He was not weak in faith, no unbelief or distrust made him to waver but He grew strong and was empowered by faith”.
You may have plenty of reasons why your situation is not going to work out but you have to do like Abraham, who against all odds, against all hopes, kept his hope strong in God. Never drift away. God is not limited to the natural . He is super natural. Though the promise to Abraham didn’t happen in a minute yet it came to pass.

That the promise has not yet happened does not mean it is not going to happen. Beloved , Never ever lose your Hope in God . .......................................

09/06/2019

THE MAN DANIEL:

"But Daniel purposed in his heart that he wouldn’t defile himself with the portion of the king’s delicacies, nor with the wine which he drank; therefore he requested of the chief of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself.”

It’s here that we see the first of four key lessons we can learn from Daniel.

1. Daniel wasn’t willing to compromise his standards
Look at the verse again.

It says that Daniel
purposed in his heart not to eat of the food Nebuchadnezzar had provided.

The phrase “that he might not defile himself,” suggests that the food King Nebuchadnezzar was serving was a kind of food that the Jews weren’t allowed to eat. Remember that the Jews had many dietary restrictions of foods that were declared unclean.

Here’s my point:

Daniel didn’t have to uphold his Jewish standards. He was away from home, in a foreign pagan kingdom, without his parents around. He could’ve eaten the food without a second thought.

A modern day example of this would be if a child goes to a friend’s house and they’re playing a video game or watching a movie they aren’t allowed to watch.

Since parents aren’t around, this child can easily get away with playing the game or watching the movie. Same thing going on here. Daniel didn’t have to maintain his Jewish standards. But he did.

This young boy had had the precepts of God – as well as integrity – so instilled in him, that it mattered to him whether or not he pleased God. It didn’t matter what everyone around him was doing.

2. God was THE central aspect of Daniel’s life.

There was nothing more important to Daniel than God. Everything in Daniel’s life revolved around God.

Unfortunately it’s easy for God not to be on the forefront of our minds most of the day.

Sometimes He simply enters our thoughts every now and then when we pray before a meal or when we sit through a Bible class.

This isn’t the way we should treat someone whose incredible grace saves us each and every day.

We’re supposed to love God with ALL of our hearts, souls, and minds. Don’t push God back to just being a part of your life.

As shown in the life of Daniel, He needs to be the central
part of your life that everything else revolves around.

3. Daniel used his influence

The people we come in contact with, whether it be the waiter at the restaurant or the visitors at church on Sunday morning, we all influence in some way.

Sadly, many Christians don’t use their influence to further God’s kingdom.

Not all people are brought to Christ through direct evangelism. It starts with an example.

If people can’t tell Christians apart from the rest of the world, we’re missing the first major step. Just look at Daniel.

In chapter 2, after he interpreted King Nebuchadnezzar’s dream, the king proclaimed, “Truly your God is the God of gods, the Lord of kings…” (Verse 47).

4. Daniel didn’t waver when hardships arose.

“Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went home.

And in his upper room, with his windows open toward Jerusalem, he knelt down on his knees three times that day, and prayed and gave thanks before his God, as was his custom since early days.”

It wasn’t like Daniel wasn’t aware of the new decree. He was completely aware, but that didn’t matter to him.

Again, pleasing God was the most important thing to him. This is an example of political hardship, but the Bible makes it crystal clear that if we’re following Christ the way we should, we are going to suffer persecution (John 15:20).

It could be political, it could be personal. Either way, it’s crucial that we don’t succumb or yield to the enemy’s advances.

We’re to put on the whole armor of God so that we’ll be able to quench the fiery darts of the wicked one (Ephesians 6:16).

Just like Daniel, our first priority should be whether or not we’re serving and honoring God.

Almighty God, give ear to our words this time and moment, and consider the meditations of our hearts.

Hear the voice of our cry, O God, for unto You we do continue to pray, and look up.

Lord, we pray Your strength to persevere; that even as we have laid a strong foundation for our lives in Christ Jesus, we may remember that we should not delay the building by neglecting to complete Your plans.

Help us to see clearly today if we are growing; if we are making Your words stronger than our lives.

By Your mercies, O God, raise up in us the spirit of workmen, who diligently seek to show ourselves approved unto You, and need not be ashamed, rightly dividing Your word of truth. Help us to understand that for many, what may be known of God is that which is manifest in us.

Therefore, Help us, O God, to not rest on our salvation, but present our bodies as living sacrifices, holy, acceptable unto You, which is our reasonable service; Help us, that we would not be conformed to this world:

but being transformed by the renewing of our minds, live as instruments of righteousness, eager to prove what is Your good, and acceptable, and perfect will.

In the matchless name of Jesus Christ, we do pray and declare it all. Amen.
