Joy comes from an awareness of God’s presence with us — and God is always near.

Joy is rooted deep within the heart and grows from the life of the Spirit in us. As Galatians 5:22–23 teaches, joy is part of the fruit produced by the Holy Spirit.

God has given us new hearts. Through the Spirit, we have been made alive in Christ, united with Him, and transformed from within. The Spirit is the source of true joy — a joy that leads us into wonder, worship, and a deeper awareness of God’s presence every day.

Glory to God....
The anticipation for this camp had been simmering for days.

The children from Workers Special and their families had their prayers answered — the paralysis in public transportation that would have caused them to forfeit their allocated two days of camp was suspended, making it possible for them to attend.

They arrived as a joyful group of sixty — children and families living with intellectual developmental delays, autism, spina bifida, and a few with visual and hearing impairments. Yet none of these limitations defined the atmosphere they carried with them.

Their joy was contagious.
We shared moments of heartfelt worship, exuberant laughter, warm fellowship, and genuine connection. Every song sung, every smile exchanged, and every activity participated in became a testimony of God’s faithfulness and inclusiveness. The campgrounds echoed with excitement, hope, and gratitude.

It was beautiful to witness families relax, children freely express themselves, and everyone feel seen, welcomed, and loved. For many, this was more than just a camp experience — it was a reminder that they belong, that they are valued, and that God’s presence meets us all without discrimination.
Indeed, what a privilege it was to serve, fellowship, and create memories together.

Glory to God for making it all possible.

What a joyous and inspiring start to our Special Needs session!

Today, despite incredible challenges, our first school arrived safely. Through the sheer determination of the head teacher and the unwavering commitment of the children’s parents, the hired bus made its way and arrived at 10:15 a.m.
This was no small feat, especially on a day when public transport across the country had been disrupted by the nationwide strike protesting the escalating fuel prices.

The children and their parents were warmly welcomed with joyful songs and energetic dances by our excited volunteers.
It was a beautiful and emotional moment for everyone present.

We have spent many days praying, planning, and training in preparation for this special session, and seeing the children arrive filled our hearts with gratitude and hope.
We truly thank God for making this possible.

Our first visiting school, Kasambara Primary School, located in Gilgil Sub-County, Nakuru County, Rift Valley.

Special Camps for children with various exceptionalities.

From now until August, we will host 55 camps over 15 weeks, creating extraordinary opportunities for learning, joy, and meaningful therapy - not only for the children, but also for their parents and guardians.
This work will be made possible by an incredible army of youth volunteers committed to building memories that will carry our campers beyond their everyday realities.

Yesterday was a very special day for us Wendo Youth & Family Camp Trust - WYFCT as we hosted our first Seniors Camp, welcoming participants with an average age of 68 years.

We began the morning with a gentle walk through the arboretum, surrounded by trees, fresh air, and quiet beauty. As we paused along the path, something beautiful happened, stories began to flow. Our seniors shared their knowledge of indigenous trees and plants, while others reflected on childhood memories of growing up close to nature. The walk became more than exercise; it became a moment of shared wisdom, laughter, and remembrance.

The day was thoughtfully designed to offer wellness, spiritual refreshment, and creative expression.
One of the highlights was a pottery painting session, where each participant decorated a pot with their own unique touch. Once the pots had dried, we gathered again to plant herbs, turning those painted pots into living reminders of the day.

There was joy in the conversations, gentleness in the pace of the day, and a deep sense of gratitude for the gift of life and community.

Scripture reminds us:
"Even to your old age and gray hairs I am He, I am He who will sustain you." — Isaiah 46:4

Yesterday was a beautiful reminder that every season of life carries purpose, wisdom, and adventure.

Godly Providence.

The Lord has blessed us with a rich harvest of beans, maize, and just last evening—honey. Loads of it.

It is clear that He is confirming the work ahead in 2026 is already provided for.

The team took time to winnow the 500 kg harvest of beans, inevitably carrying along a lot of chaff.

Like in biblical times, winnowing, the process of tossing harvested grain into the air so the wind blows away the chaff, leaving the good grain behind, is inconvenient.
It looks violent: grain scattered, dust flying. Yet it is necessary.
Without winnowing, the harvest is useless.

Psalm 1 reminds us that the righteous are not like the chaff. They are rooted, nourished, and fruitful.
So if you feel shaken, it may be because God sees something of value worth preserving.
