Yesterday was a very special day for us Wendo Youth & Family Camp Trust - WYFCT as we hosted our first Seniors Camp, welcoming participants with an average age of 68 years.

We began the morning with a gentle walk through the arboretum, surrounded by trees, fresh air, and quiet beauty. As we paused along the path, something beautiful happened, stories began to flow. Our seniors shared their knowledge of indigenous trees and plants, while others reflected on childhood memories of growing up close to nature. The walk became more than exercise; it became a moment of shared wisdom, laughter, and remembrance.

The day was thoughtfully designed to offer wellness, spiritual refreshment, and creative expression.
One of the highlights was a pottery painting session, where each participant decorated a pot with their own unique touch. Once the pots had dried, we gathered again to plant herbs, turning those painted pots into living reminders of the day.

There was joy in the conversations, gentleness in the pace of the day, and a deep sense of gratitude for the gift of life and community.

Scripture reminds us:
"Even to your old age and gray hairs I am He, I am He who will sustain you." — Isaiah 46:4

Yesterday was a beautiful reminder that every season of life carries purpose, wisdom, and adventure.

Godly Providence.

The Lord has blessed us with a rich harvest of beans, maize, and just last evening—honey. Loads of it.

It is clear that He is confirming the work ahead in 2026 is already provided for.

The team took time to winnow the 500 kg harvest of beans, inevitably carrying along a lot of chaff.

Like in biblical times, winnowing, the process of tossing harvested grain into the air so the wind blows away the chaff, leaving the good grain behind, is inconvenient.
It looks violent: grain scattered, dust flying. Yet it is necessary.
Without winnowing, the harvest is useless.

Psalm 1 reminds us that the righteous are not like the chaff. They are rooted, nourished, and fruitful.
So if you feel shaken, it may be because God sees something of value worth preserving.

Place your orders for pure organic honey.

Bless them with strength for each day, joy in every moment, and peace that refreshes their hearts.
May their love continue to shape lives, their words bring hope,
and their presence reflect Your grace.
Surround them with Your favor and fill them with Your Spirit. We honor them, cherish them, and thank You for them.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Part of God’s Bigger Plan

Have you ever paused to consider that your life and existence is not random, that you are an integral part of God’s bigger plan? If you are a believer in Christ, then you belong to something far greater than yourself. You are part of the Body of Christ, a divine organism designed by God Himself.

We too at Wendo Youth & Family Camp Trust - WYFCT are part of God's work through African Christian Camping and CCI Worldwide .

Paul reminds us of this powerful truth:

“Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ. For we were all baptized by one Spirit so as to form one body—whether Jews or Gentiles, slave or free—and we were all given the one Spirit to drink.”
— 1 Corinthians 12:12–13

This means no believer is insignificant.
Every life carries purpose.
Every assignment matters.
Just as the human body cannot function without all its parts working together, so the Church cannot flourish without your faithful participation.
Your gifts, your obedience, your prayers, and even your struggles all serve the greater redemptive plan of God.

You are not an extra in God’s story. You are a vital part of His divine design.

Doing life together in accountability strengthens our faith journey.
Every end of year, the Crossover Camp gives the Wendo family a special opportunity to testify of the Lord’s goodness.

As many who have served as Wendo volunteers, pause to reflect on the year that has passed and trust God for the year ahead, this gathering becomes a sacred moment — a space to remember, to realign, and to renew hope.

🧶 “From campfire to creativity.”

At 17, Monica Karimi found a deeper faith and a new passion at Wendo Youth and Family Camp. What began as learning to crochet at camp turned into a ministry of serving children with special needs and a creative business rooted in faith.

A new generation is learning to delight in reading the Word of God!

This week, we have been training our village children to read and love Scripture — helping them discover that God’s Word is living, powerful, and meant for them.
Schools are out, and this is a wonderful opportunity for you, too, to create meaningful camp moments right where you are.
You do not need much to begin: establish a reading routine, read together, and nurture foundational literacy skills in an encouraging, faith-filled way.

Read the Bible to your child.
Take turns reading. Pause to reflect on the meaning and the heart of the text.
Make it joyful. Make it real.
Let them grow in both faith and understanding — one verse at a time.

Amen.

At the ongoing Grade 5 camp, participants are engaging in a variety of activities designed to help them explore new interests and develop personal skills beyond the classroom. Opportunities in painting, drawing, pottery, music, drama, and dance have allowed the campers to express themselves creatively and uncover hidden talents.
Through team-based sessions and shared experiences, they are learning valuable lessons in communication, cooperation, and conflict resolution within a supportive environment.
The camp setting has also provided a healthy break from screens and devices, encouraging physical activity, face-to-face interaction, and overall mental well-being.

In all these experiences, the campers are reminded that creativity and community are gifts from God. Just as God, the Master Creator, formed the world with beauty and order, we too reflect His image when we create and work together in harmony. As they learn, play, and grow, the children are discovering that every act of creativity and cooperation is an opportunity to honour God and celebrate His handiwork in us and through us.
