Today, 6 January, we celebrate the Epiphany of the Lord, when Christ’s light was revealed to the nations. Just as the Magi followed the star with hope and faith, we too are called to bring light where there is darkness, hope where there is suffering, and compassion where there is need.

Epiphany invites us to renew our mission: to recognise Christ in every person and to serve with dignity, love, and humility.

Happy New Year! As we welcome 2026, we give thanks for all those we accompanied in the past year — and for every volunteer, partner, and friend who helped us serve with compassion and dignity. May this new year be one of hope, peace, and joy.

Today, Sunday, 16 November 2025, the Companions of the Order of Malta in Kenya marked the World Day of the Poor with Mass and the distribution of food packages at the Deep Sea informal settlement in Nairobi.

Recalling the words of Tobit 4:7 and guided by Pope Francis’ reminder in 2023, “Do not turn your face away from anyone who is poor,” the Order of Malta Kenya stands alongside our brothers and sisters in faith and solidarity.

This day reminds us that service to those in need is not an event, but a vocation and a daily invitation to encounter Christ in the poor, as well as to always act with compassion, dignity, and hope.

The Order of Malta, as a Permanent Observer to the UN Environment Programme, is committed to continued engagement with international partners in support of environmental stewardship, sustainable development, and the protection of vulnerable communities affected by climate and ecological change.

On All Souls’ Day, we pray for all who have gone before us—especially those of the Order of Malta who lived lives of faith and service. Their legacy endures in every act of care, compassion, and love.

Today we honour Africa’s young people—the builders, the dreamers, the change-makers. With over 400 million youth across our continent, their energy, creativity and resilience are transforming Africa’s future.

At Order of Malta Kenya, we stand alongside young Africans as they step into leadership, service, and hope. We believe in their capacity to uphold human dignity, support vulnerable communities and shape an Africa defined by compassion and justice.

Happy African Youth Day! Let’s raise every voice, open every door, and walk together toward the Africa we want.
