THE WOUNDED MAN OF GOD
one of the most dangerous things in ministry is not demons, witchcraft, poverty, or criticism. It is a wounded heart standing behind a pulpit pretending to be whole.
Many ministers are bleeding while preaching.
Smiling publicly but dying secretly.
Casting out devils while fighting invisible wounds within themselves.
There are wounds that fasting cannot hide.
There are pains that speaking in tongues cannot silence.
There are tears hidden behind suits, microphones, titles, and “God bless you.”
A wounded minister can still preach powerfully, but deep within him something is broken.
Some were wounded by pain from childhood.
Some were wounded by rejection.
Some were wounded by betrayal from spiritual fathers they trusted.
Some were wounded by members they sacrificed for.
Some were wounded by fellow ministers.
Some were wounded by loneliness.
Some were wounded by poverty after giving everything to ministry.
Some were wounded by comparison and dishonor.
Some were wounded by unanswered expectations.
And the painful thing is this:
Ministry has a way of forcing wounded men to keep moving even when they are emotionally collapsing.
I have seen ministers cry in secret and still mount the altar with fire.
I have seen men preach healing while they themselves needed healing.
I have seen fathers in ministry carrying silent disappointments nobody knew about.
hear me carefully:
Not every loud minister is healed.
Not every powerful minister is whole.
Some wounds came from fathers.
A spiritual father you trusted ignored you.
Another used you.
Another abandoned you after using your strength.
Another celebrated strangers but neglected sons.
Another wounded you with harsh words when all you needed was encouragement.
And because fathers carry authority in the heart of sons, their words can either build or destroy destinies.
A wounded son in ministry can become bitter, rebellious, cold, competitive, defensive, suspicious, or emotionally withdrawn.
