He is Risen! A Joyful Easter Blessing
Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,
As the dawn breaks on this glorious Easter morning, we celebrate the triumph of light over darkness, life over death. Jesus Christ, our Savior, has risen, shattering the chains of sin and despair. In His resurrection, we find the promise of new beginnings—for our hearts, our communities, and our world.

May this Easter fill you with unbreakable hope. Let the empty tomb remind us that no struggle is final, no burden too heavy. Rise with Him today: forgive boldly, love fiercely, and serve with joy. In Kenya's vibrant faith communities, let's carry this resurrection power into acts of mercy, inclusion, and justice—especially for the marginalized and those with disabilities.
Christ is risen! He is risen indeed! Alleluia!
With prayers for a blessed Easter,

From ASN

Ash Wednesday marks the start of Lent, a sacred season of reflection, repentance, and renewal leading to Easter. It invites us to embrace humility through the ashes on our foreheads, reminding us of our mortality and call to turn back to God.

Core Meaning
Ash Wednesday, observed today in 2026, begins the 40-day Lenten journey, echoing Jesus' time in the desert. The ashes, made from last year's Palm Sunday palms, symbolize penance, human frailty ("dust to dust"), and hope in redemption.

Lenten Invitation
Lent calls for prayer, fasting, and almsgiving—not as burdens, but as paths to spiritual growth and deeper faith. It's a time to examine our lives, let go of sin, and prepare our hearts for Christ's resurrection.

Personal Reflection
In this season, may we find quiet spaces amid daily life to listen to God, fostering compassion and community. Let Ash Wednesday spark sincere change, turning reflection into joyful Easter hope.

Pope Leo XIV's message for Lent 2026 enriches Ash Wednesday reflections by urging "listening and fasting" as paths to true conversion. His words call for attentiveness to God, the poor, and our speech, fostering communal renewal.

Key Highlights
Pope Leo XIV emphasizes placing God's mystery at life's center to counter daily distractions. He invites shared Lenten journeys in parishes and families, listening to Scripture, the poor, and creation.

Fasting extends beyond food to "disarming" language—replacing hurtful words with compassion and space for others. This builds kindness in families, workplaces, and online spaces.

On this Ash Wednesday, Pope Leo XIV's call resonates: Lent is pilgrimage together, transforming sacrifice into attentiveness and love. In Nairobi's communities, let's heed the cry of the suffering, fast from division, and walk toward Easter's hope.

Assumption Sisters of Nairobi commit to journey with all our friends and collaborators on this wall. It’s a time also to assist those young ones to discern their vocations.

The Day for Consecrated Life is a special day in the Catholic Church that celebrates and gives thanks for people who have dedicated their lives totally to God through religious vows—like priests, brothers, sisters, monks, and nuns.
What it means:
It honors lives marked by poverty, chastity, and obedience
It highlights prayer, service, and community as a gift to the Church and the world
It’s a moment to appreciate how consecrated people live as a sign of hope and love
When it’s celebrated:
Every year on February 2, the Feast of the Presentation of the Lord (Candlemas)
Why February 2 matters:
Light (candles) symbolizes Christ as the Light of the World
Consecrated life reflects that light through a life given fully to God and others
In short: it’s a day of gratitude, reflection, and prayer for those who choose a life totally dedicated to God and service.

For Pastoral reasons, Dioceses can shift this to another appropriate day. For instance, in the Archdiocese of Nairobi, it will be celebrated on 7th February at the Holy Family Minor Basilica.

We continue praying for our Brothers and Sisters to remain faithful to their consecration and service.
