3)LEADERSHIP REGARDING PULPIT MINISTRY

DEAR PASTOR: POINT PEOPLE TO JESUS, NOT TO YOURSELF

The job of a PASTOR is not to point people to himself/herself. Do not teach in order to MAGNIFY yourself before the people, so you can take the Worship that is meant for God. It's a BANANA-PEEL, kindly don't walk on it.

You must know that WORSHIP ALONE is meant for God. Once you start taking worship from God, it means you have become an IDOL and you are certainly going to PERISH from under heaven.

Watch every story of an ENCOUNTER you share. If the GOAL is to magnify yourself with the story, kindly don't share it. Before you share an encounter, ask yourself: is it going to MAGNIFY the Lord before the people or me?

As a pastor, don't be a STORY-TELLER, teach the word ALONE. Do not build the new work on PHYCOLOGY and SOULISH-stories. Let the foundation be the word alone and build with the lively stones ALONE

The more God anoints you and makes you more famous & wealthy, the more cautious you must become. Stephen Jeffrey touched the glory and worship that was meant for God by saying: "the whole world have come and they have come to worship at my feet." He got struck and every disease he was used to heal people from came on him!

What I am sharing here is very crucial. Pastors/PREACHERS, who magnify themselves don't end well. Each time you see a preacher who magnifies himself or herself, just pray for mercy for the person.

Lastly, it takes a lot of strength of character to point people to Jesus and not to yourself.

What does it mean to point people to Jesus? To point people to Jesus is to point them to the word...

DEAR PIONEER-PASTOR, THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT

Please, never forget this: when your people are almost GETTING tired of hearing same thing over and again, that's when LEARNING actually begins.

The job of a PASTOR is not that of EXCITEMENT and ENTERTAINMENT but TRANSFORMATION. Your job is not to excite and entertain your people while teaching. Pastoring is not for JESTERS, but true sent ones.

This is where I am coming: what you won't consistently teach, you won't see in the Local Assembly on your watch.

If you want gifts of the Spirit to be in OPERATIONS in the Local Assembly, you must constantly teach on them. If you want people on your watch to be able to hear God, you must constantly teach on it. If you want to see them healed, you must deliberately and constantly teach on it. If you want them to know how to LIVE by FAITH, you must constantly and deliberately teach it...

Many want some stuff to happen in the Local ASSEMBLIES on their watch, but they aren't BOLD ENOUGH to teach on them. This is not how it happens...

HOW TO RAISE PASTORS AND LEADERS IN YOUR MINISTRY

Look ye out therefore, brethren, FROM AMONG YOU seven men of good report, full of the Spirit and of wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business.
Acts 6:3 ASV

One of the greatest needs of every minister in ministry, after money, is a good and strong pastoral and leadership team.

The strength of your ministry is directly tied to the strength of your pastoral and leadership team.
According to Dr. John Maxwell, "everything rises and falls on leadership."

Quite a vast majority of ministry leaders have been making the mistake of sourcing for pastors and leaders from other ministries or from Bible colleges to come and help them run their ministries and this has proven to be very detrimental.

By my research, the strongest and impactful churches, ministries and denominations, raise their pastors, priest or leaders by themselves, they don't take them from elsewhere.

According to our text, your leaders should come 'from among you'.

The following are the steps to raising pastors and leaders for your ministry:

1. PRAY EARNESTLY:
So pray to the Lord of the harvest to force out and thrust laborers into His harvest.
Matthew 9:38 AMPC

Prayer is the foundation for having effective and efficient workers, pastors and leaders.
You must pray to God to send the right people to you.

Jesus Christ spent the whole night, which was about 12 hours(6pm-6am) to choose his leadership team. Luke 6:12-13

2. OBSERVE CAREFULLY:.. Whenever Saul noticed any heroic man or strong warrior, he would take him into his service.
1 Samuel 14:52 EHV

Saw was very observant to spot valiant and strong men to enlist in his army.

As a ministry leader, you must be very vigilant to spot people that are called to ministry and people that have leadership ability.

Also, keep a watch to know those that are showing signs of quick spiritual growth, attend prayer meetings and teaching meetings, engage in evangelism, give generously and defend the church.

There are some people that are called but don't know. It is your duty as a ministry leader to help them discover the call and help them to fulfill their ministry, in your ministry.

3. TRAIN ADEQUATELY:
Now when Abram heard that his brother was taken captive, he armed his three hundred and eighteen trained servants who were born in his own house, and went in pursuit as far as Dan.
Genesis 14:14 NKJV

Abraham trained them and they became powerful soldiers and got victory.

After you discover those with leadership abilities in the church, train them.

Don't ever appoint or ordain an untrained person.
If you don't train them, don't blame them.
If you don't train them, they will drain you.

Design a systematic and systemic program to train your pastors and leaders.
Design a training program such that after someone has passed through your training, he becomes an efficacious minister or leader.

Let your training be thorough and properly packaged.

4. APPOINT DISCRETELY:
After these things the Lord appointed seventy others also...
Luke 10:1

After training should be ordination and appointment.
Don't train people and keep them without giving them responsibilities.

If you train people and after training, there is no clearly defined role for them, they will leave.

A lot of pastors make this mistake. They train so many people at once and afterwards no ordination and appointment or commitment of responsibility, the people now leave in droves to go and become pastors in other ministries or become emergency church founders.

5. ENCOURAGE VIGOROUSLY:
“But the LORD said unto me, Say not, I am a child: for thou shalt go to all that I shall send thee, and whatsoever I command thee thou shalt speak.”
Jeremiah 1:7

When Jeremiah felt he was too young to start ministry, God rejected his excuses and encouraged him to start ministry.

When I made my current Resident Pastor in Uyo to be the Assistant Resident Pastor in Eket, he was in Secondary School.

He told me that he was too young and won't be able to do ministry but I told him that I believed so much in him and today he is pastoring a whole assembly.

6. SUPERVISE TACTICALLY:
And the apostles gathered themselves together unto Jesus, and told him all things, both what they had done, and what they had taught.
Mark 6:30 NKJV

Jesus Christ sent the apostles on mission but He still supervised them. He made them to give official report when they returned.

Don't allow your pastors and leaders to operate as the like, they must be under supervision.

7 APPLAUD AND APPRECIATE GENEROUSLY:
His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant...
Matthew 25:21

Appreciate and applaud your pastors as they serve with you in ministry.

Don't be stingy with appreciation if you want to have pastors and leaders in your ministry.

Conclusively, dear ministry leader, stop looking for pastors for your ministry rather, start raising pastors from your ministry, for your ministry
That's healthy on longevity
Not unless your assembly unit put structures of employment over time and it has worked

Without structures and policies it can be counter productive

Even where there are structures they follow the above to make it

10 STEPS TO LAUNCHING A SUCCESSFUL STARTUP

Starting a business (online or offline) can feel like stepping into uncharted waters. You have the idea, the passion, and the drive, but how do you transform all that into a thriving startup? It’s not magic—it’s a mix of strategy, grit, and a sprinkle of good timing. Here’s a practical, step-by-step guide to help you navigate the journey.

1. Start with a Problem, Not Just an Idea
A great startup solves a problem. Take a moment to think about your idea: Does it address a pain point? Is it something people need or want? For example, Airbnb started because people struggled to find affordable lodging. Your startup should aim to be a solution, not just a product.

💡 Pro Tip: Talk to people in your target audience. Their insights can help refine your idea into something truly valuable.

2. Research, Research, Research
You can’t afford to skip this step. Dive deep into your industry. Study your competitors. Understand your target market. The more you know, the better prepared you’ll be to carve out your niche.

🔍 Questions to ask yourself:
• Who are my competitors, and what are they doing well?
• What gaps can I fill in the market?
• Who is my ideal customer, and what do they care about?

3. Write a Lean Business Plan
Don’t let the term “business plan” intimidate you. This doesn’t have to be a 100-page document. A lean business plan outlines the essentials: your product or service, target market, revenue model, and basic financial projections.

📝 Think of it as a map: It doesn’t have to be perfect, but it should point you in the right direction.

4. Validate Your Idea
Before you invest time and money, test your idea. Create a minimum viable product (MVP) or prototype. This doesn’t have to be fancy—just enough to showcase your concept.
🎯 Example: If you’re starting a clothing brand, make a few samples and get feedback from potential customers.

5. Build a Strong Brand
Your brand is more than a logo—it’s the story you tell, the emotions you evoke, and the trust you build. Invest time in creating a compelling brand identity. Think about your name, colours, voice, and the message you want to send.

💡 Quick Tip: Use free tools like Canva to design your initial branding materials, but consider hiring a professional as you grow.

6. Secure Funding (If You Need It)
Not every startup needs a massive investment upfront. However, if your idea requires significant capital, explore funding options:
• Bootstrapping (self-funding)
• Angel investors or venture capital
• Crowdfunding platforms like Kickstarter
• Small business loans.

💰 Pro Tip: Be prepared to pitch your idea in a way that excites potential investors. Practice until you can do it in your sleep.

7. Build a Great Team
You can’t do it all alone. Surround yourself with people who share your vision and bring complementary skills to the table.
👥 Key hires to consider:
• A co-founder or partner to share the load
• A marketing expert to build your brand
• A financial advisor to keep your books in order

8. Launch Strategically
Your launch can make or break your startup. Plan it like a military operation. Set a launch date, create a buzz on social media, and offer early-bird incentives to attract your first customers.

🚀 Quick Tip: Soft-launch your product or service to a small audience first. Use their feedback to fine-tune before going big.

9. Track Your Progress
Once you launch, the work doesn’t stop. Monitor your performance using key metrics like sales, customer retention, and website traffic. Tools like Google Analytics, HubSpot, or even simple Excel sheets can help you stay on top of your numbers.

📊 Why it matters: Tracking progress helps you spot what’s working and what needs fixing, so you can pivot quickly if needed.

10. Stay Resilient and Adaptable
Here’s the truth: Things will go wrong. You’ll face challenges, and there will be moments when giving up feels easier. But resilience is what separates successful entrepreneurs from the rest.

💪 Mindset Tip: Learn from failures, adapt quickly, and keep pushing forward. Remember, even the biggest companies started small and faced setbacks.

Finally, it takes more than luck to launch a successful startup, it’s about preparation, ex*****on, and the ability to adapt.

10 BRUTAL FOUNDATIONAL MISTAKES NEW Entrepreneurs Make
(And Why Most Won’t Survive 5 Years)

So you’re planning to start a small business — or you’ve already started?

Bad news: Most small businesses in Africa never make it to their fifth birthday.
Good news: If you know what traps to avoid, you’ll not only survive — you’ll scale.

If you're going to break through, your mindset has to be different from the average hustler on the street.

Here are 10 brutal mistakes that kill businesses before they grow:

1. Obsession With Capital
You don’t need money to start a business—you need money to grow it. Your head is capital enough…

Most people will die with “million-dollar ideas” they never started because they were waiting for capital interms of cash. That’s narrow mindedness

Ask yourself:
How much did Facebook start on?
Nash Paints? Coca-Cola? Airbnb?
How about your church? Did it start with money?

Answer: next to nothing.
Ex*****on beats capital every time.

2. Underestimating the Effort Required
Your goals are probably fine. The problem is you’re not working hard (or smart) enough to reach them.

You want 10X results on 1X effort. It doesn’t work like that.
To achieve new results, you must become a new person.

Change your habits. Change your friends. Change your fire.

3. Setting Unrealistic Timeframes
You won’t make real money in the first five years. Period.

In fact, if you’re not willing to commit 10 years, don’t bother starting a business.
This is why I recommend you keep your job while you build.

You can't build a generational business with a backyard broiler farmer mentality.
(Short-term thinking, zero systems, panic moves.)

4. No Repeat Customers = No Business
One transaction doesn’t make you money.
Several transactions do.

If customers never come back, integrity is probably missing.
Don’t give people a reason to regret trusting you. Build long-term value, not short-term hype.

5. Begging for Support
A great product doesn't beg—it commands attention.

Don’t cry for support. Build something so excellent your customers beg to give you money.

Support mindset = poverty trap.
Value mindset = prosperity path.

6. Premature Sense of Success
You opened a small shop yesterday, now your business card says “CEO.”
Next: new wardrobe, new car, new address, new prophet, and maybe even a new partner.

All funded by debt or fantasy.
This is madness. Stay humble. Let the results speak.
Build before you broadcast.

7. Failure to See Beyond the Curve
Malawi is not difficult—it’s just different, so is the rest of Africa.

You don’t make a business decision and go on vacation. You may need to revise it before end of day.
This market moves fast. Learn to read the signs.

Very few things have shocked me in the past 10 years. Even COVID found us ready.

8. Doing Things “By the Book”
Books give you principles, not formulas.
Don’t try to photocopy strategies from New York and expect them to work in Lilongwe or Nampula.

9. Trusting the Wrong People
In business, everyone is guilty until proven innocent.

The word “trust” in business is not the same as in social settings.
This is why we use contracts, collateral, and suretyships.

Business runs on systems, not emotions.
Don’t misplace meanings—or you’ll misplace your money.

10. Turning to Prayer for Survival
Don’t retreat to a prayer mountain when what you needed was a boardroom.

God cannot be manipulated by tears.
Even MAJOR 1—one of the most anointed men alive—says he prioritizes thinking time over prayer time.

Dr. Myles Munroe said it best:
“If I have an hour, I’ll pray for 10 minutes and think for 50.”

Let's wind up!
If you want to survive in business, evolve and innovate.
Entrepreneurship in Africa isn’t just about hustle—it’s about wisdom, patience, and brutal self-discipline.

No excuses. No shortcuts. Just strategy.

Let’s do business!!
