Skills and trade training are at the heart of our mentorship and empowerment program for girls transitioning from high school into the marketplace. Through hands-on learning and guidance from seasoned leaders, participants are gaining practical skills in communication, computer literacy, financial management, detergent making, beauty therapy, baking, cooking, and hospitality service.

A special highlight has been watching girls take their first steps from learning how to make products such as homemade detergents to confidently selling them. For many, this becomes a defining moment, where they begin to see themselves not just as learners, but as creators and emerging entrepreneurs.
Beyond training, this program is equipping them for real-world opportunities including employment, entrepreneurship, and internships, opening doors to financial independence and long-term career growth.

The program is currently running through May, and we look forward to celebrating all 154 participants as they graduate and step boldly into their next chapter.

This is more than training it’s transformation.
We are deeply grateful to our partners for making this life-changing journey possible.

Romans 10:14–15
“How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: ‘How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!’”

We thank God for Salem Baptist Church and McFarland Hill Baptist Church for stepping out in faith to support missions in Kenya.

We are deeply grateful to everyone who prayed, gave, encouraged, and got involved in any way. This mission is a reflection of what it truly means to have all hands on deck.

As Scripture reminds us in 1 Corinthians 3:6,

“I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God has been making it grow.”

Together, we are part of God’s mission sent, supported, and growing His kingdom.

Will you be next?

Salem Baptist Church and McFarland Hill Baptist Church Kenya mission

We thank God for Salem Baptist Church and McFarland Hill Baptist Church for stepping out in faith to serve alongside the Swahiba Networks team. Through their obedience, God used them to plant seeds of His Word in the hearts of children through VBS, guide teenagers in our mentorship program, equip pastors for ministry through training, and reach the least of these including ministering to widows through home visits, food basket distribution, and high school ministry.

We believe that as they have blessed us through their faithful service, they too have grown in faith and ministry and will continue to serve God at an even greater level.

May their example inspire others who are considering stepping out in obedience to the Great Commission to go and serve.
Thank you, Salem and McFarland Hill, for leaving your comfort to serve in the trenches of the Kibera slums. Your time here has made a lasting impact that will be felt for years to come.

Are you or your church feeling called to serve? Partner with us and be part of what God is doing. Reach out and join the mission.

Happy Women’s Day 2026!

This year, under the theme , Swahiba Networks celebrated by bringing together young girls who have just completed high school and are now enrolled in a 15-week skills and trade training program. The event was made even more special as seasoned women joined to share advice and wisdom, equipping these young ladies for a successful transition into the marketplace. They were reminded that their current circumstances do not define their future, and that staying focused on priorities, understanding seasons, and embracing their purpose are key to unlocking their potential.

Some of the inspiring leaders present included wise women from our Women of Grace program, Swahiba CEO, Rev Ken Aringo, Pst. Flora, Mrs. Faith, Pst. Cynthia, Madame Kanze Dena, Pst. Mueni, Miss Diana, and many others.

As we celebrate women today, we honor their resilience, vision, and the power they bring to transform communities. Here’s to women who lead, inspire, nurture, and rise may your impact continue to grow and your voices always be heard.

The Mentorship and Empowerment Program continues to open doors of opportunity for young women from the Kibera community. This initiative supports girls who have recently completed their high school education and were part of our high school programs the Jitambue Purity Program and First Priority. Through mentorship and practical training, the program equips them with valuable skills and trades that prepare them to transition confidently into the marketplace and take meaningful steps toward their dreams.

This year, 150 young women have enrolled in the program, demonstrating a strong commitment to building brighter futures. We are excited to share that they have already completed four weeks of the fifteen-week training program. During this period, participants have gained foundational knowledge in
Communication Skills, Career Awareness, Detergent Making, and Financial Management skills designed to strengthen their confidence, expand their opportunities, and encourage entrepreneurial thinking.

Each session is not only about learning new skills but also about nurturing hope, resilience, and purpose among these young women as they prepare for the next chapter of their lives.

We extend our sincere gratitude to our partners and supporters whose generosity and commitment make this program possible. Your investment is transforming lives and empowering a new generation of young women to step forward with confidence, dignity, and vision for their future.

BHBC Feb Mission Kenya in Pictures
Thank you Burnt Hickory Baptist Church for obeying the call to go and serve. Every smile and every moment captured shows the impact of your obedience!

19/02/2026

Thank you, Burnt Hickory Baptist Church team, for your unwavering kingdom partnership. What an encouragement you continue to be to us and to the Kibera community from children and teenagers to widows and families alike.

Your actions, time and again, have reminded us of the truth of Philippians 2:3–4: “Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves.” By humbly offering yourselves to be used by God, you have modeled Christ-like service in ways that words alone cannot express.

We want you to know that the impact you have made reaches far beyond the moments you spent here. Your obedience has created a ripple effect of hope, faith, and love that continues to touch lives and inspire others to serve. Seeds have been planted, hearts have been strengthened, and communities have been uplifted.

Thank you for your faithful service and for standing with us in God’s mission. May the Lord richly bless you as you continue to pour yourselves out for His glory.

Harkening to the Great Commission and quite literally to the ends of the earth stepping out of their comfort zones to serve alongside the Swahiba Networks team in the trenches of Kibera slums is exactly what the team from First Baptist Cleveland, TN has done.

This week, they trained pastors, positioning them to lead healthy and thriving churches; equipped teen leaders through the Word; mentored boys; washed the feet of vulnerable children; and provided socks and new shoes. They visited widows in their homes, prayed with them, encouraged them, and distributed food baskets among many other acts of love and service. We will forever be grateful.

We thank God for all those who put their faith into action and become His hands and feet. It is through such holistic expressions of love that we continue to expand the Kingdom of God.

The call is still open. We invite churches, teams, and individuals to step out in faith and be part of what God is doing in the margins. Come serve, pray, give, or send as the Lord leads.

The most effective missionaries to young people are their peers. That is why First Priority Global Ministries and Swahiba Networks intentionally invest in equipping youth ministers for impactful and sustainable discipleship. Through strategies such as the F.I.S.H Cycle (Focus, Inspire, Share, Hook), young leaders are equipped for greater effectiveness and consistency in reaching their peers with the Gospel.

We thank God for the team from First Baptist Cleveland, TN who served alongside the Swahiba Networks team during our recent First Priority training. As we commission these young ministers back to their schools, we are expectant and prayerful for many souls to be reached this year as they boldly share Christ among their peers.

We are deeply grateful for the opportunity to host a team of pastors for a seven-day mission trip to Kenya from Monday, 19th January to 26th January 2026, led by Pastor Brett Sanders of First Baptist Church, Georgia.

The team meaningfully served alongside our staff through acts of humility and compassion, including a foot-washing outreach that blessed 50 children with new pairs of shoes, the distribution of food baskets to 255 widows and the training of 215 pastors in Nairobi and Siaya.

This mission trip was impactful, life-giving and mutually encouraging, demonstrating the power of partnership in advancing holistic ministry. We look forward with great anticipation to strengthening this relationship and welcoming more collaborative mission engagements in the future.

The Tabasamu Shoe Distribution 2025 for the Nairobi slums has officially come to an end, with the final distribution taking place in Kibera where it all began 23 years ago. This closing chapter was especially meaningful, filled with powerful stories that reminded us why this work matters.

One such story came from one of our volunteers, who shared that they were once a beneficiary of this very initiative years ago. Their journey from receiving a pair of shoes to now serving and committing to give back in future campaigns beautifully completes the cycle. It is deeply encouraging to see how something as simple as a pair of shoes can plant a seed in a young heart, leaving a lasting mark that later returns as a blessing to the community.

Abigail, one of the beneficiaries, also shared her joy with these touching words:

“I love skipping rope in school; this makes me happy. From when I was a baby, I have never received a gift from anyone not even from familiar people. My birthday is usually in December, and I have never been celebrated. These shoes and socks are more than a Christmas gift. I can’t wait to show them to my friends at home. Thank you so much, Swahiba, for remembering me. May God bless you.”

Stories like these keep us going. They show us that our community is growing, with beneficiaries becoming supporters and impact continuing from one generation to the next. The future is indeed promising.

During this event in the Kibera slums, a total of 771 pairs of shoes were distributed, and 34 lives began their journey of salvation.

To our partners, thank you for your Kingdom partnerships, your generosity, and your unwavering support.
