Brothers and sisters today in my series of devotion we will briefly focus on *Psalm 32 :8-10 .*
*God is giving us a special message.*

In *Psalm 32:8,10* God gives us a very personal message. He states:
“I will instruct you and teach you in the way which you should go; I will counsel you with My eye upon you….he who trusts in the Lord, loving and kindness shall surround him.”

We have many questions about life and many decisions to make. Aren’t you glad to know that you have a personal instructor who will teach you which way you should go and what decisions you should make? God also promises that He will counsel us with His eye upon us. That means He is constantly watching over you and me. He cares about the decisions you have to make and knows you want to make the right ones. He also promises that if we trust in Him and rely on His strength, His loving kindness will constantly surround us.

How are you doing seeking the Lord and His counsel? How are you doing “trusting in Him?”

*Prayer-* Lord, thank You for you are instructing me right now. You are showing me the way that I should go. You will give me the wisdom to make the right decision with what I am concerned about today. Thank You for Your love is surrounding me at this moment and I can trust in You.Amen.

We shall overcome because Jesus overcame🙏🙌
We serve a great and loving God .

May God bless u all with your loved ones.It was awesome serving God with you in my capacity as his servant .

*Theme: HARVEST TIME*

*Exodus 23: 14-16*
_¹⁴Three times a year you are to celebrate a festival to me._
_¹⁵"Celebrate the Feast of Unleavened Bread; for seven days eat bread made without yeast, as I commanded you. Do this at the appointed time in the month of Abib, for in that month you came out of Egypt._
_"No-one is to appear before me empty-handed._
_¹⁶"Celebrate the Feast of Harvest with the firstfruits of the crop you sow in your field._
_“Celebrate the Feast of Ingathering at the end of the year, when you gather in your crops from the field._

The Israelites were in the wilderness. Egypt was already behind them, yet they could only imagine their future.

During this time of transition, God told Moses that He would bring them into a land where they were to gather before Him three times a year. One of these times was the Feast of Harvest. As they sowed seeds, they were to gather together the firstfruits of their labors and bring them to God. If they had sown nothing, they would have reaped nothing. But, for all who had faithfully sown seeds, God promised that they would reap the rewards of their faithfulness.

This feast reminds us that our lives are filled with seeds. Seeds of love and kindness, finances and wealth, talents and resources. Sadly, some limit God's blessing by not sowing from the resources He has given them. But those who are faithful can expect to receive a harvest.

During this harvest season, we are reminded that we cannot reap a harvest unless we sow seeds and water them. Then we must wait and be patient. There may be times when it seems that nothing is growing, that we might not reap the harvest. But, all the while, God's principles remain true. He promises that if we are faithful, we will experience a harvest.

Have you been sowing seeds with your time, talent, and treasures? If you have been faithful, God will reward you, and you will receive a harvest for your faithfulness and obedience. Trust in Him today, and rejoice. *It is harvest time!*

*Prayer*
```Father, help me to be faithful to sow seeds into Your Kingdom with the resources You have given me. Thank You for the harvest that I will receive. I Praise You. In Jesus name, Amen!```
Theme: Don't quit; You will reap your harvest Just in the right time.
Text: Galatians 6:9
" Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up."
Interestingly, God created work for you and me to do long long ago.
In Ephesians 2:10, Paul writes and declares; " For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. Dear brethren,
You and I are Gods masterpiece . We are his sons and daughters. He anticipated our arrival and prepared good works for us to walk in. As a caring Father, God has given each one of us special abilities , gifts and talents in order to serve Him through the enablement of the the Holy spirit. As believers do the good works set for them, Paul says, we are sowing to please the spirit and shall reap eternal life( Galatians 6:8). However, it is also true that we shall also reap for this current life. For example believers experience joy and fulfiment that God gives to those who yield their lives to Him. Jesus says in John 10:10 "I have come so that you can have joy and have it more abundantly". Yes! God purposes that we walk a life of joy through this journey.
Let me ask you; After you became a believer, have you sowed seeds in the Kingdom of God by doing the work that He has ordained for you to do? If yes, then you will definitely receive a harvest, not your time, but in God's perfect timing. When you feel like God has delayed the reward (harvest) and you are tempted to complain, grumble and even may be give up, remember God's calendar is different from yours. When we are making our five year plans, lets remember that God has a life time plan for us. He has good plans for you and Me! Hallelluyah!
Ecclesiastes 3:11
" He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also He has put eternity in their hearts, except that no one can find out the work that God does from begining to the end"
Psalms 37:3,5,6
" Trust in the Lord, and do good; Dwell in the Land, and feed on His faithfulness. Commit your ways to the Lord, Trust in Him, And He shall bring it to pass. He shall bring fourth your righteousness as the light, And justice as the noonday"
*REAPING THE HARVEST*
Deuteronomy 8:9 There you will never go hungry or ever be in need.It's rocks have iron in them and from it's hills you can mine copper.
Many times,we've believed God for somethings but years have passed and we have not seen the manifestation of the miracle or promises.
We have been believing God , taking it to the Lord in prayer, confessing the word of God over and over our plans,dreams,visions or promise from the word, yet we still see no fruit ,no manifestation or very little.
We've even been planting seed for that harvest.And sometimes we have sown much seed and reaped very little if anything at all.
Sometimes when people fail to receive the harvest they begin to wonder if God's word really works.And if we are not careful,satan may bring all kinds of discouragement and if possible, cause us to quit.
As Christians in our own thoughts and efforts before Covid 19 we were trusting God depending on each ones score cards.But using our own human eye we may have not seen what God has provided for us .Then came Covid 19 and the lockdown,we were subjected to harship and suffering e.g
-lose of livelihood...people lost jobs ,shelter ,lack of food etc.As Christians we believe that in the midst of all this our refugee is in Christ.Unfortunately our huge expectations may not have resulted in the measure we may have expected. Others may have lost hope,but even with this phenomenon we should remember that God fends for us.Inspite of this "famine"that has come up we all have some harvest in various measures. We should be watchful lest the devil blinds us not to see our harvest.
It reminds me of (Acts 5:1-10) Ananias and Sapphira when they decided to keep part of the money for themselves. We should be reminded that during this difficult Covid-19 time, that this little that God wants to share with us,He has power to multiply it.It is at such time like this when we feel we have nothing or very little that we are able to move God when we share with Him.
We should be careful not to miss this opportunity after the many prayers we have been making are almost being answered.
Brethrens any call towards giving to God be it harambee, thanksgiving etc we should stand firm like the widow of Zeraphath (1kings 17:8-24) .May God help us to remain steadfast in His word and promises.
Leviticus 23:9-14
First fruits
The Lord said to Moses, speak to the Israelites and say to them:'when you enter the Land l am going to give you and you reap its harvest, bring to the priest a sheaf of the first grain you harvest. 11He is to wave the sheaf before the LORD so that it may be accepted on your behalf;the priest is to wave it on the day after the sabbath. 12 On the day you wave the sheaf, you must sacrifice as a burnt offering to the LORD a lamb a year old without defect,13 together with its grain offering of two tenths of an ephah of fine flour mixed with oil--an offering made to the LORD by fire pleasing aroma--and its drink offering of a quarter of a hin of wine. 14 you must not eat any bread or roasted or new grain, until the very day you bring this offering to your God.This is to be a lasting ordinance for the generations to come,wherever you live.
The feast of first fruits required that first crops harvested be offered to God.The Israelites could not eat the food from their harvest until they had made the offering. Today God still expects us to set aside his portion first ,not last giving left overs to God is no way to Express thanks.
23:33--43
The Feast of tabernacles, also called the feast of in gathering was a special celebration involving the whole family (see23:34,Exodus 23:16,Deut 16:13)like passover, this feast tought family members of all ages about God's nature and what he had done for them and was time of renewed commitment to God .Our families need rituals of celebration to renew our faith and to pass it on to our children. In addition to Christmas, and Easter, to commemorate Gods goodness.
We Christians have rituals we cannot involve ourselves in because they are not compatible to Christianity. The Bible should always be our mirror.
NOTE
Yesterday is in the past Tomorrow is still in the future but today is ours.
Prayer
Lord help to live according to your word and to follow your guidance. AMEN
🎡🚜 *_HARVEST TIMES, CAN WE ENSURE?_* 🚛 🎢
*NAIROBI SHOW!* Back then simply known as *“THE SHOW”* was synonymous to the first week of October Just before the schools opened, hence the climax of the school holidays and a good excuse for a family outing. This was a must go event for most Nairobians and indeed for a number of organised groups of pupils / students from schools within and outside Nairobi, the show was one favourite outing in their school calendar. For those who were privileged to ever go it was a déjà vu moment and now, quite nostalgic.
Later, it metamorphosed to *Nairobi International Trade Fair,* it was also synonymous to matters *“HARVEST!”* which was the genesis of the show, where entities, individuals or otherwise would display their ability, skills, *process and prowess* to harvest which later on encompassed sectors of manufacturing of both goods and services including entertainment. It also served as a portal where traders both local and international would converged and / or form alliances. Needless to say, the *Church especially the Anglican Church, around this time marked it as a period to offer a gift of HARVEST* . As masses trouped to the show either by public means or private through Kenyatta Avenue, the All Saints Cathedral compound would have agricultural machinery and implements on display during the week to culminate to great Sunday of giving.
We highlight the above the word *Process and Prowess, how is this so significant to HARVEST*
🙏 *Prayer:* Our heavenly Father we thank you for the harvest you bestow on us we are desirous of its assurance may your word guide us; Amen!
📓 *The Word:* _Jeremiah 5:23-31 23 But these people have stubborn and rebellious hearts; they have turned aside and gone away. 24 They do not say to themselves, *‘Let us fear the Lord our God,who gives autumn and spring rains in season, who assures us of the regular weeks of harvest.’ 25 Your wrongdoings have kept these away; your sins have deprived you of good.* 26 “Among my people are the wicked who lie in wait like men who snare birds and like those who set traps to catch people. 27 Like cages full of birds, their houses are fulla of deceit; they have become rich and powerful 28 and have grown fat and sleek. Their evil deeds have no limit; they do not seek justice. They do not promote the case of the fatherless; they do not defend the just cause of the poor. 29 Should I not punish them for this?” declares the Lord. “Should I not avenge myself on such a nation as this? 30 “A horrible and shocking thing has happened in the land: 31 The prophets prophesy lies, the priests rule by their own authority, and my people love it this way. *But what will you do in the end?*_
📃 *The Message:* There were, or are times a farmer or farmers could be endowed with what is termed as a bumper harvests and the times of *The Show in Nairobi* witnessed some great display and records of harvest, from coffee to tea as cash crops; from beans to maize as domestic food, *During this era there were strong formation of great agricultural associations* BUT! these is becoming a memory repository, why? Could this be the case as in Jeremiah? (Your sins have deprived you…) read the above passage meditatively again; it ends with the question; *"But what will you do in the end?"* We stop the wickedness by both fthe haves and the "have nots", from the men of the cloth to the lay; We’ve got to repent and pray to the God of mercy, lest the situation remains or deteriorates.
🙏 *Prayer:* Father we humbly ask for your forgiveness for the wickedness in this country, oh LORD of harvest in your wrath remember mercy and restore our abundance, in Jesus name Amen!
*_Blessed Mwambi_*
Genesis 8:22
[22]While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.
Introduction.
In the word of God, there are countless times ,we see God showing his love and patience toward men/women inorder to save them .
Lessons.
1. Seedtime and harvest time.
The word of God confirms that there will be seedtime and harvest time. God gives us each a seedtime and harvest time. I note that " time is unrecyclable resources". In Ephesians 5:15 the word of God says "we should be careful,then, how we live-not as the unwise but wise...". In Galatians 5:7B " A man reaps what he sows"
2. Understanding our seasons.
We are in different seasons. In Matthew 24:38 we read "For just as in those days before the flood they were eating and drinking, [men] marrying and [women] being given in marriage, until the [very] day when Noah went into the ark," . Understanding our seasons is very important and we are all in our different seasons.
Prayer.
Almighty and changeless God, the source of all wisdom, we pray that this message of seadtime and harvest time is well revealed to us. Give us O Lord your grace to be very conscious of our time, and help know what to do and how, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Rev Charles Chege kariuki.
Vicar
