2 Corinthians 10: 3-5 (KJV)

3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:
4 (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)
5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

LEST WE FORGET

Today at GCI Utawala, we were reminded of a powerful truth from Deuteronomy 8.

NEVER FORGET THE LORD.

God warned His people that when they entered a season of abundance — when they had houses, food, wealth, and increase — they must not forget the One who brought them through the wilderness.

The danger was not simply having blessings.
The danger was forgetting God in the midst of the blessings.

When we stop honouring God, we begin to depend on ourselves. We forget His faithfulness. We turn away from His ways - and Scripture warns that there are consequences when God is no longer at the centre.

Today’s message challenged us to examine our hearts:

-Are we honouring God with what He has given us?
- Do we remember Him when life is going well?
-Have we forgotten the One who brought us this far?
-Are there things in our lives that are taking the place of God?

As we continue with our 2026 theme - PULLING DOWN STRONGHOLDS, let us remember that strongholds can develop when we allow wrong priorities and patterns to take root in our hearts.

Lest we forget.

Let us honour God in our families.
Let us honour God in our work.
Let us honour God with our resources.
Let us honour God in our success.
Let us honour God in every season.

Because the blessing should never make us forget the Blesser.**
