Rochester is a gateway city for refugee resettlement and it is being systematically destroyed. Violent crime is at unprecedented levels. Daily reports of gunfights are not uncommon.

It was fun having Martin Kilungu interpret for me today as we preached at commuter train. This guy gets so excited when interpreting the "in Christ" realities he laughs and shouts before interpreting those words and his joy so infectious it makes the passengers laugh and shout amen! So many people were blessed to see the finished work of Jesus. Holy Spirit is not in the business of recruiting soldiers for Christ. Nope! The war is over. He is adopting sons and giving them a deep relationship with God crying in them Abba Father!

The law is just and holy and good. That is what receiving abundant provision of grace and the gift of righteousness produces in us because of Jesus Christ. I am just and good and holy through relying upon Jesus!

Do you know why the gospel is offensive?

"The gospel is offensive because it strips people of all room for pride in human accomplishment. There is a reproach associated with the message of the cross because it removes every possibility of self-deliverance.

No one can give God anything in exchange for salvation. Nothing the sinner can give is acceptable as a substitute for sin." ~Bob Lightner

"The Old Covenant had the old Levitical priesthood.

The writer of Hebrew says that a new 'law' requires a new priesthood, one of a different order or arrangement.
The new priest was Christ, and the new law was the New Covenant, sealed with His blood.
The foundation clause of the new law... the one we are under... is this:
"I will remember their sins no more".

God not remembering or calling to mind your sins is not a question any longer.
It is a sealed-by-blood contract that he has sworn to abide by... and He will.
By law, God, who will obey the 'LAW OF NOT REMEMBERING YOUR SINS', has promised that your sins will not enter His mind again.

And when God says that Jesus is a 'PRIEST FOREVER'... He is saying that this law... this contract... will remain in force as long as the priest does.
And that's... FOREVER!! Contractually... legally... FOREVER!!"

Are you afraid of your bills, health, relationships, etc? You can cast out that fear. There's a verse in 1John that shows us how to cast out fear. It says Perfect love casts out fear. This is not talking of your love whether for people or for God. Your love & mine are IMperfect. The only perfect love is God's love. God loves you Perfectly and His love for you is unchangrable, unmovable, unconditional. When you are afraid, it is an indicator that you are not standing in grace, you are not receiving God's love. It is NOT God who is not transmitting, it is you who is not receiving.

There is no condemnation for you anyway! I just wanted to let you know it is not the weight of your circumstances that have quenched your love & joy and cast a shaddow of fear in your valley. You just got your eyes off the cross. Just turn to the cross my friend. God does not demonstrate His love by removing the biting snakes. God demonstrates His love in that while we were yet without strength, Christ died for the ungodly. I dont know what you did or are doing, it cannot be worse than where Gods love was shed to your heart. At that time you were dead in sin and were the totally against God. But He loved you. God is for you forever! God is on your side no matter what! His banner over you is love.

"...having loved His own, He loved them to the end."

Last night I was called to go pray for a lady who was at the verge of death. I was displeased by how this people were pushing me when I slowly got out of bed. They were just, "pastor, please, very urgently..."

We reached that home and my first reaction to what I saw was fear. This lady was like breathing her last... jerking and shaking. Holy Spirit reminded me that God magnifies His word above His name therefore I will also magnify His word above my feelings! So I laid my hands on her and began to pray.

While praying, I hears the voice of the enemy whisper in my mind... You have lost this one! But somehow when I heard that, I got mad at the spirit of death, faith rose and I rebuked that spirit in the Wonderful Name of our Lord Jesus Christ who through His death on the cross destroyed the power of death and set us free from the fear of death. Bless His holy Name!

The Lord healed this lady and brought great joy to the family. My host Mani Kishore took some pictures while I was praying for this lady... they dont look good and I havent made up my mind whether to post them. I will go take another pic with the healed lady and be thanking God for His healing grace that I am learning to walk in. Thank You Jesus!

"Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God. (John 3:9 NKJV)

This confirms that a born again Christian cannot be labeled as a “sinner” according to their level of good or bad works, since it’s really a no brainer that everybody makes mistakes almost every day of their lives! Yet this verse says that whoever has been born of God (born again) cannot sin, because their identity is not based on their level of adhering to the 10 Commandments, but instead it is based on the finished work of the cross! Therefore we can conclude that a born again person has received the righteousness of God as a gift and has
been completely sanctified (in their spirit) and can therefore not be referred to as a sinner anymore, even if their behavior does not always reflect this. Yes we do not always live in 100% obedience to God, but that does not influence the fact that God still sees us as completely righteous, forgiven, sanctified and holy. And obviously to those who believe we are saying that Christians can now just go out and sin as much as they want, again we are not implying this at all!"

Love this.... it is the truth, so listen up!!

"Here's a situation that many real believers have faced... You do something terrible.
A sin so bad that it leaves you feeling like a worthless, two-faced, piece of trash and the guilt is overwhelming... You can't look other Christians in the face; much less God.

You have two ways to go from this point... The right way and the wrong way. Here's the wrong way. You try to undo it. You feel so undeserving of God's grace that you try to work your way out of your guilt. The harder you try to be good and FEEL better about YOURSELF, the more you fail and the greater the guilt grows. This is an absolute dead end.

The right way... You go right back to where to the same cross you got saved at. Right back to the same blood that Jesus shed and when the enormity of what HE did hits you all over again, the guilt will just fade away and peace, love and joy will take it's place. Recognize this... that God in Christ reconciled you to Himself through the cross and will NEVER count one single sin against you. When the gospel takes it's rightful place of importance in your life, not only will sin not build a wall between you and God, but sin will loose it's dominion over you.

When Jesus is the focus, sin will lose it's wow factor and you'll be wowed with Him instead of everything else."
