✅The First female Bishop among the Lutheran Churches in East Africa - LUCCEA.

Some highlights in pictures as Bishop Dr. Fredrick Shoo from the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Tanzania led the consecration service for episcopal vestments and symbols at the Jerusalem Cathedral Congregation of the Kenya Evangelical Lutheran Church (KELC).

The service served as a prelude to the consecration and installation of the elected leaders of the Kenya Evangelical Lutheran Church (KELC): Bishop-Elect Rev. Catherine Ngina and Assistant Bishop Rev. Dominic Nyambise.

Rev. Catherine Ngina will become the First female Bishop among the Lutheran Churches in East Africa - LUCCEA 👏 🎉 🎉 🎉

🇿🇦 3 youth from LUCCEA subregion have officially landed in Johannesburg, South Africa for the LWF Peace Messenger Training happening from 20th-25th April!

They are stepping into a powerful journey of learning, sharing skills, and growing in peacebuilding alongside fellow LWF youth from different continents....

By the end of this training, they won't just return ,they'll come back as Peace Messengers, equipped to inspire change in their communities...

We're excited to see them exchange ideas, build global connections, and strengthen their voices for peace.....

👏✅ This is how we concluded our first LUCCEA Youth Sunday Gathering in this year....

🙌🏼 We were privileged to have special guests and leaders with us: Rev. Samuel Dawai, General Secretary of the LWF Africa Region; Ms. Savanna Sullivan, LWF Program Executive for Youth; Bishop Dr. Frederick Shoo, Chairperson of the LWF Climate Justice Taskforce and LUCCEA President; Mama LoeRose Mbise, General Secretary of LUCCEA; Maua Maro, Global Youth Ambassador for Climate Justice; and our National Youth Coordinators.

Together, as young Lutherans from across Central and Eastern Africa, we reflected on the theme “Young Lutherans: Our Identity and Engagement in the Church,” led by our keynote speaker, Rev. Samuel Dawai.

This webinar not only brought us together as one community, but also reminded us that our identity as youth matters. We live out this identity by putting into practice our shared Lutheran values: , , , and .

🔥This Evening: LUCCEA Youth Working Group Kicks Off !!!!

This evening, the LUCCEA Youth Working Group met with the Youth Coordinator of LUCCEA Ms. Bupe Kibiki along with Ms. Phiona Uwase- LWF Youth Council member for the LUCCEA subregion.

Together, they launched this team as ambassadors for Youth Desk activities, campaigns, and events, bringing their creativity, ideas, and energy to strengthen youth engagement across our subregion!....

⭐⭐Coming up: An online webinar on March 15th, which will connect youth from all 9 LUCCEA churches in Central & Eastern Africa. (More details will follow) ... These webinars will focus on global and African youth priorities, making each session meaningful and impactful.
