Judah care center started under the ministry to support street and slum children and provide for them a serene environment. most kids would come to the church for the teaching about Jesus Christ and from the look of things, mo
st of them were needy and came to look for assistance, the church decided to be providing breakfast for this kids and also lunch every Sunday. with time the church was able to spot an immense and enormous need of this children. the church decided to start helping this kids and due to insufficient funds, they could only manage to support 10 kids alone, this was in 2001. This kids were taken care of by the church under the leadership of pastor Simon Mukundi, The church was able to rent a premise where the kids would sleep and also acquired some few beds, and that marked the genesis of Judah Care Children's home. Judah care has grown from Grace to grace, step by step and glory to glory to where it is right now, striving to support 30 kids at the moment. When I asked Pastor Mukundi where he got this Idea from, this is what he said and I quote " God calls the fatherless whose cries are echoing from time to time waiting for the church to hear, we are the hands and the feet of our Savior to those in distress"
as Christians we must give ourselves to others, we must be Christ to a hurting world and live for the one that comes next. Judah Care has a total of 106 kids, 30 of which are due to cases of extreme poverty and don't have a family to support them, Most of them lost their parents through different circumstances. this are the students who depend on Donation from well-wishers and the church as well, the remaining 76 kids are from the nearby slum of Umoja 3 who some are also dependent on the center while others pay to attend classes. The funds collected, is used to support the children at the center but its never enough, Pastor Mukundi informed me that in January of this year, they had a total of 134 students, 28 of them dropped in February 2012 and don't attend school anymore, this implies that even the ones remaining default in paying fees and not because they want but they cannot afford. At Judah there are 9 teachers employed to educate this students this teachers are on payroll and they come and go depending on the availability of funds, although the church is doing all things possible to get funds, they are not able to support this kids as they would wish to, hence they are now stretching their hands across all looking for funds. I am looking for people who can stand with me and this center (Judah Care Home) to support this kids. Their ages are between 7years to 17 years old. they are in need of Stationary, Clothing, food, health care, shoes and entertainment. Currently the kind of food and living environment is way below average, attached to this information are pictures of the center taken this past Friday 23 March 2012.
