AUGUST - MONTH OF CONSECRATION

DATE: 27 AUGUST 2026
THEME: A MATURE BELIEVER - PART 3

BOOK: Galatians 4:1 (NKJV)

“Now I say that the heir, as long as he is a child, does not differ at all from a slave, though he is master of all.”

This is a deep mystery that should shape how we pray and what we pray for.

Consider the example of a wealthy father who owns many cars and has a two-year-old son. Regardless of how much the father loves his son, if the child asks for a car, the father will deny him, not because the car does not belong to him, but because he is not yet mature enough to drive it. Giving him the car at that age would endanger his life.

The same principle applies to our relationship with God. Because of His loving nature, God will not give us something that will destroy us. Many times, our prayers are delayed, not because what we are asking for is not ours but because we have not yet matured enough to handle it.

For some of us, the only thing holding us back from our next level may be something as simple as pride. God may be waiting for us to deal with it because pride can not thrive in the place He is taking us.

For others, it may be unforgiveness, unfaithfulness, hatred, greed, or another area of character that needs to be addressed. Even for some, marital destiny may be delayed because one is not yet mature in certain areas.

These are just a few of the many areas in which we need to grow as believers so that we can fully manifest all that God has provided for us.

PRAYER: Almighty Lord and good Father, thank You for giving me all that pertains to life and godliness. Help me recognize where I need to grow and give me grace to overcome every weakness, character flaw, and attitude that hinders my maturity. Make me a mature believer, faithful to handle all You entrust to me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

AUGUST - MONTH OF CONSECRATION

Date: 26 August 2026
Theme: The Mature Believer - Part 2

Scripture: Hebrews 6:1- 2 (AMP)
“Therefore, let us go on and get past the elementary stage in the teachings and doctrine of Christ (the Messiah), advancing steadily toward the completeness and perfection that belong to spiritual maturity. Let us not again be laying the foundation of repentance and abandonment of dead works (dead formalism) and of the faith [by which you turned] to God, with teachings about purifying, the laying on of hands, the resurrection from the dead, and eternal judgment and punishment.”

Paul makes it clear that there are teachings that are foundational and essential for every believer. However, when we continually remain at the elementary level without progressing, there is a problem. As believers, we are expected to grow daily into the perfection and maturity that God desires for us.

One of the examples Paul gives is repentance and the abandonment of sin. Repentance is an elementary teaching that every believer must understand. However, if we continually need to be reminded about what we should or should not do, despite already having the knowledge, something is wrong. When will we be taught how to occupy cities if we are still struggling with the things we ought to have overcome?

Paul also mentions faith, baptism (purifying), the laying on of hands, the resurrection of the dead, and eternal judgment. These are foundational truths that every believer should understand and master. Yet, some believers are still questioning basic truths, such as whether the laying on of hands is only for pastors or apostles, whether the dead will rise again, and the reality of heaven and hell.

A mature believer is someone who understands these foundational truths and lives by them. This is both a lesson to learn and a challenge to embrace.

Master these foundations, and you will stand firm as a mature Christian.

Six Foundational Truths to Master:

1. Repentance
2. Faith
3. Baptism
4. Laying on of hands
5. Resurrection of the dead
6. Eternal judgment

Prayer
Lord, help me to grow in You and to live according to Your will. Help me to become spiritually mature and execute Your Kingdom purposes so that Your will may be done on earth as it is in heaven. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

AUGUST - MONTH OF CONSECRATION
Date: 25 August 2026

THERE : A Mature Believer - Part 1

VERSE : Psalm 103:7: “He made known his ways to Moses, his deeds to the people of Israel.” (NIV)

The mystery behind today’s verse is what sets some believers apart from others. The big question is: How do you relate with God?

Many relate to God because of His deeds, what He can do for them. They seek His provision to meet their needs. However, others, like Moses, relate with God to understand Him, know Him, follow His agenda, and extend His Kingdom.

Jesus also reached a point where many people followed Him mainly because of what He could provide, especially bread. However, there were a few, like Peter, who recognized that they followed Him because He had the words of eternal life. Later, those who followed Jesus beyond His provision became the great apostles who helped extend His Kingdom.

A personal question every believer must ask is: Why do I always come to church? Why do I pray as I do?

If all our desires are materialistic, it may mean that once we finally get what we want, we will no longer see the need to seek God. May we seek His face (His ways) and not only His hands( deeds.)

Prayer: Lord my God, help me to live a life that seeks after Your heart and not only Your provision. May I be among those with whom you will share your thoughts in this generation. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Month of Consecration - 24 August

Theme: The Act of Inquiry

1 Samuel 30:8: “So David inquired of the LORD… ‘Shall I pursue this troop?’ And He answered him, ‘Pursue, for you shall surely overtake them and without fail recover all.’”

A man who is yielded to God is a man who constantly inquires of the Lord. David had strategies, but he never depended on his own wisdom. Whether under pressure or not, he sought God’s direction before acting.

Many families, ministries, and businesses struggle because they follow worldly principles instead of constantly seeking God. From Moses, we learn that God’s instruction can change with the season. The first time, God told him to strike the rock; the next time, He told him to speak to the rock.

What God instructed you to do yesterday may not be what He is asking you to do today. Therefore, may we develop the character of inquiring from the Lord in everything you do.

Prayer:
Lord, I thank You for who You are. Today, I yield myself to You. Help me to inquire of You in all that I do, guide my steps, and teach me to follow Your instructions. May my life bring glory to You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
