The Young Professionals group is a Church effort to bring together Young Professionals aged between 20 to 40 years from all diverse fields together to interact, network and share and to collectively pursue ventures, initiatives and events that will meet spiritual, social, financial and professional needs while having fun and giving back to the church and the community. It is a group like any other
group in the church e.gCWA, CMA or Youth groups among others. It is also known to be a group of people who are just married, singles or in the singles encounter forum though it has no bracket but mostly composed of men and ladies between college, job searching and working class in the church. The group does not have a patron like the Youth but is headed by a Fr.Chaplain and coordinated by a coordinator.Other groups in the Archdiocese that exists are the Young Christian Movement of Professionals, Young Christian Professionals etc. Other churches that have established young professionals groups are: Buruburu Catholic Church, Babadogo Catholic Church among others. Our activities are organized in four major areas that were identified as needs for the young professionals today. These are:-
1. Spiritual Development: A family that prays together stays together. We enhance spiritual developments like visiting Spiritual shrines through pilgrimages to places e.g Resurrection gardens, Subukia shrines and other spiritual places. We also evangelize to other parish outstations and establish young professional groups.
2. Professional and Business Development: We provide a platform for the Young professional to develop their professional skills by having networking forums where we may invite speakers from different walks of life to give talks on topical issues affecting the Young Professionals. We appreciate the needs of young people to form or develop businesses. For this we look forward to engage them in topical issues that affect their performance, training members on business development concepts and partnering with different stakeholders to give support to people in business. We nurture talents and professions hence create employment opportunities to members through referrals and job seeking. We also assist in organizing sales in the church like food sales during big church events and other church development projects.
3. Community Service: over the years we have visited children homes, orphanages, e.t.c as a way to enhance community social responsibility. These activities happen in line with our calendar of events. Members make contributions in cash and kind to facilitate donations and more so make physical visits to the places and offer their expertise in community responsibilities.
4. Social Development: what a better way to unwind after a long week of work and nation building than to join a team of trusted friends for a good time out. We provide the social development opportunities ranging from hikes, social outings and sports events to dinner parties. All geared at enhancing our social life and expanding our circle of friends.
