While serving as a primary school teacher, noticed some children sitting in the nearby street next to the school, doing nothing apart from talking to one another. Others were from street. Some were orphans. They we found that they had no where to go during lunch break. I got the idea that these children could be provide with a meal a day by the nearby church, where my husband was serving as church
minister.I talked to the church ladies and for about two years, about 100 children were receiving free lunch, and they also attended the Sunday school classes on Sundays, as they chose, when not attending school. However, when my husband was transferred to another church, about 20 kilometers away; his former church administration decided not to continue feeding the children at his former church. The children were stranded and were to drop from the school anytime. My husband requested his former church to send the children to his new church station. My husband had to use his pocket money or rent premises for the children's accommodation so that they attend the school soon. The new church disowned the children. My husband had to think quickly on how to accommodate and to feed the children since they were homeless again. At that point I retired from employment. We jointly bought 200 x 200 piece of land in Ruai we built some structures and toilet facilities. We got piped water. We connected to electricity system, fenced the plot and moved into premises together with about 25 children, who attended standard one to form two classes. NOTE
About 5 children go to another primary school near because they are older. Two are in secondary school because they are older. The Quest for happiness ministry is in dire need of basic spiritual nature shelter food and drink as well as health education and security services which all are require money which we do not have.
