Changing Attitude Kenya

Changing Attitude Kenya Changing Attitude Kenya works for LGBTI affirmation within the Anglican community in the world. Who Are We? What are we doing?

WELCOME TO CHANGING ATTITUDE KENYA
We are registered with International Le***an and Gay Association (ILGA). Promoting Full Inclusion of Gay, Le***an, Bisexual, Transgender and Intersex People in the Life of the Anglican Church. Our mission is to move forward the debate about human sexuality in the Anglican Church and beyond by
Raising Awareness
Providing Education
Introducing Our Experience
Buil

ding Relationship
The Gospel of Jesus Christ leads the Association to affirm and provide inclusive pastoral care with le***an and gay people and their families and friends in the Anglican communion. Changing Attitude Kenya is a group of people of all sexual orientations who support our mission. We are modeled on the example of Changing Attitude UK, now celebrating 10 years of advocacy. Changing Attitude Kenya provides speakers and resources for parishes. Changing Attitude Kenya is committed to implementing the listening process in the Kenyan Church. Changing Attitude Kenya is creating a nationwide network of members for mutual support. Changing Attitude Kenya is inspired to dispel the darkness of doubt by bringing the light of the Gospel to those on the margins of society. What do we believe?
1.The lives of LGBTI Christians show evidence of the Gifts of the Spirit.
2.Our natural sexual orientation is neither a sickness nor sinful, but given by God, not chosen apart from God’s will.
3.Loving, committed and faithful relationships are God’s ideal for
people of all sexual orientations.
4.Prejudice against gay people is no more acceptable than racism, or past justification of slavery on Biblical grounds.
5.The Church is responsible to bring the Gospel’s message of salvation especially to the most socially marginalized. Goals
•Fosters ministry with le***an, gay, bisexual, transgender and tr*******al Anglican communion, their families and friends
•Serves as a network of communication regarding Anglicans LGBT ministry
•Provides educational resources and conscience-formation materials
•Provides models of ministry and training
•Encourages the participation of le***an and gay Anglicans within the Church
•Communicates with other Anglican organizations, especially the Anglican Communion. Membership
CAK includes people involved in gay, le***an, and bi-sexual ministries, ministries to their spouses, parents, and families, and ministries to transgender and tr*******al persons. The organization also includes those who support these ministries in other ways. The Association recognizes that each ministry is a unique response to particular needs. Therefore these ministries take many different forms. They can be diocesan, parish-based or campus-based. They can reach out to gay and le***an Anglicans, or work primarily with their parents or spouses. Some ministries focus on educating the wider Anglican community about relevant issues. All these ministries share in common a desire to welcome GLBT Anglicans into the Church and to support their families and friends. Homosexuals, like everyone else, should not suffer from prejudice against their basic human rights. They have a right to respect, friendship and justice. They should have an active role in the Christian community.

What are the benefits of "Coming Out" as le***an, gay, bisexual and transgender? I believe the benefits outweigh the fear of living a lie or in the closet. And honestly, we cannot sugarcoat this, coming out and being visible is far more rewarding than staying in the closet living in fear of who you are.
That homophobic pastor does not have the key to the kingdom of heaven and it is time that you listen directly to what God is saying about you. "You are fearfully and wonderfully made".
Homophobic parents, Any parent that make their LGBT children homeless and withhold tuition fee are not worthy of parenting. This is child abuse and neglect of their parental duties.
I am sick and tired and feel sorry for many who have to and for those who seem not to have the choice because of discrimination, prejudice and fear of criminalisation etc.
What a sad world for many LGBT people.

Be a volunteer
We are looking for energetic people that believe in our mission and want to make a personal impact to changing the lives of LGBT in our Congregation . Our Churches still live in denial that we do exist and we are human who need to be loved. As part of my campaign this year,to continue with what I started last year. I want to be a voice of Clergies who identify with or are members of LGBT especially in Anglican Church. I have planned an array of activities this year which include massive media Campaign(K24 and KTN)
We are looking for multi-dimensional people that want to help them be problem solvers and empower them to rise above their current circumstances. The need is great, therefore there are a variety of ways you can volunteer.
We’d love to have you!
