Purpose is not a poster on the wall. It is the fuel behind performance, the glue that builds teams, and the reason people give their best even when no one is watching.

This morning at Merishaw Primary, we kicked off our first session on Purpose-Driven Work Culture with both teaching and non-teaching staff, and the conversation was as real as it gets.

When purpose is missing:
• Work becomes routine
• Teams become competitive instead of collaborative
• Gossip replaces growth conversations
• People show up,but they are not fully present
But when purpose is clear: • Work gains meaning
• Ownership increases
• Unity strengthens
• Excellence becomes a standard, not an exception

A school does not transform because of systems alone,it transforms when people reconnect with why they do what they do.
Teaching staff shape minds.

Non-teaching staff sustain the environment.
Together, they steward the future.
Today’s reminder:
You don’t just work in a school, you build destinies daily.

And when people see that, everything changes.

Your is not just influencing your life—it is quietly authoring it. It decides your altitude, filters your , and either reveals or conceals opportunity.

Paul does not suggest renewal as an option—he presents it as the gateway.

“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—His good, pleasing and perfect will.” (Romans 12:2)

Notice the sequence: → → with God’s will.
Miss the first, and the rest becomes guesswork dressed as effort.

Many are exhausted not because life is hard, but because their minds are unrenewed—so they keep forcing what should be discerned. It’s like trying to decode heaven’s strategy with yesterday’s thinking… ambitious, but slightly illegal 😅

Call to Action:
Where has your mind remained unchanged, yet you expect different outcomes?
What intentional step will you take today to renew it?

Dear ,

Let’s talk about …

The average Kenyan spends about 40–50 hours a week at work. That is over 2,500 hours a year. In 10 years, that’s more than 25,000 hours of your life. That is not just —it is life. 😌

Which means work was never just meant to pay bills; it was designed to build you.

But here is the tension—many people show up faithfully, yet leave unchanged. Same mindset, same skills, same financial habits… just older and more tired. This is sad statistic🥹

And that is where we miss it. Work is meant to make you better, support your welfare, and position you to build generational wealth. If it is only sustaining you but not developing you, something is missing.

So be intentional. Don’t just show up—grow up. Develop skills that outlive your job. Learn how to save, invest, and multiply. Because earning is one thing… stewardship is another 😌

Many are hardworking but not skillful. Many are earning, but not building. And over time, that gap becomes costly.

Scripture captures the balance in Psalm 78:72: “And David shepherded them with integrity of heart; with skillful hands he led them.” This is the model—skillful hands and integrity of heart.

Because your job is not your destination; it is a ground.

So ask yourself, what is the work doing in you? Are you becoming more valuable, more disciplined, more aware… or just counting days to Friday? 🤔

Because one day, the salary will stop, but the person you have become will remain.

So take your work seriously—not just as employment, but as development. Build skills, build wisdom, and build something that will outlive you 😌✨

Dear

Let me free you a little…

People are not thinking about you the way you think they are thinking about you 😅

There is something in psychology called the —the tendency to believe that everyone is noticing, analyzing, and evaluating you… far more than they actually are.

In simple terms?

You think you are the main in everyone else’s mind 😂

Meanwhile… people are busy thinking about their own lives, their own problems, and their own next meal 😌

But this illusion is powerful.

It creates pressure.
It feeds anxiety.
And for many people… it produces a subtle but dangerous habit—people-pleasing.

You start editing yourself to fit imagined expectations.
You delay starting because “what will people say?”
You shrink your voice to avoid being misunderstood.

And slowly, without realizing it…

You trade authenticity for approval.
You trade progress for perception.
You trade purpose for comfort.

But here is the truth—

Most people are not watching you that closely.

And even if they are… they are not qualified to determine your 😌

Scripture grounds us in 1:10: “Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God?”

That question alone can reset your entire life.

So how do you overcome this subtle trap?

1. Shift your audience
Stop performing for people and start living before God. When your life is anchored in divine approval, human opinion loses its weight. You don’t ignore people—you just stop being controlled by them.

2. Take action before you feel ready
The spotlight effect thrives in hesitation. The longer you overthink, the louder imagined opinions become. Action disrupts fear. Start messy, start unsure—but start.

3. Build internal conviction
When you are unclear about who you are, you will constantly borrow identity from others. Spend time developing your values, your voice, and your direction. Clarity silences unnecessary noise.

At the end of the day…

The world is not waiting for a perfect version of you. It is waiting for an honest one.

Dear ,

There is a silent pressure that comes with being … the pressure to be impressive immediately 😅

You have the idea, the vision, the capacity… so naturally, you want the results now now 😂

But life has a very humbling response to gifted people—it introduces you to small beginnings. And honestly, that part can feel unnecessary.

Because in your mind, you’re already seeing the big stage, the impact, the influence… but in reality, God is saying, “Start with one step.” Just one 😌

Let’s be honest—small steps can feel insulting to a big vision. You’re here planning global transformation, and your current assignment is: send one email, make one call, show up one day. It almost feels like destiny is delaying you 😂

But here is the wisdom we often resist: God hides greatness in small, consistent obedience.

Scripture reminds us in 4:10, “Do not despise these small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin…” Heaven is not just clapping for finished products—it celebrates starting.

Small steps build discipline, refine character, expose your motives, and train your consistency. They also quietly dismantle the illusion that gifting alone is enough 😅

Because truth be told, being gifted will open doors… but only will keep you there.

So instead of rushing the journey, honor the step you are in. That small, unseen effort, that quiet progress no one is applauding, that discipline that feels repetitive—that is where strength is being formed.

One day, what looks like “sudden success” to others will simply be the accumulation of many faithful, invisible steps.

So breathe, slow down, and take the next step well. Purpose is not built in leaps—it is built in steps.

And if you are navigating the weight and expectations that come with being gifted, I wrote something for you. “The Pressure of Being Gifted” will help you understand your journey and learn how to turn pressure into purposeful pleasure.

Today has a great time giving a Leadership Masterclass at the Regional Center for Mapping of Resources for Development in Kasarani, where I spoke to over 250 students who are taking various TVET-accredited diploma and certificate courses focusing on geospatial technologies, ICT, land surveying, and remote sensing.

I did a Leadership Masterclass focusing on Personal Leadership, Communication and Emotional Intelligence for Career Growth.

This was such an interesting engagement investing in the next generation of leaders.
