English Swahili. 1 John 5:1-21
[1]Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him.
Kila mtu aaminiye kwamba Yesu ni Kristo amezaliwa na Mungu. Na kila mtu ampendaye mwenye kuzaa, ampenda hata yeye aliyezaliwa na yeye.
[2]By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments.
Katika hili twajua kwamba twawapenda watoto wa Mungu, tumpendapo Mungu, na kuzishika amri zake.
[3]For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.
Kwa maana huku ndiko kumpenda Mungu, kwamba tuzishike amri zake; wala amri zake si nzito.
[4]For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.
Kwa maana kila kitu kilichozaliwa na Mungu huushinda ulimwengu; na huku ndiko kushinda kuushindako ulimwengu, hiyo imani yetu.
[5]Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?
Mwenye kuushinda ulimwengu ni nani, isipokuwa ni yeye aaminiye ya kwamba Yesu ni Mwana wa Mungu? Ushuhuda kuhusu Mwana wa Mungu
[6]This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is truth.
Huyu ndiye aliyekuja kwa maji na damu, Yesu Kristo; si katika maji tu, bali katika maji na katika damu.
[7]For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.
Naye Roho ndiye ashuhudiaye, kwa sababu Roho ndiye kweli.
[8]And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one.
Kwa maana wako watatu washuhudiao [mbinguni, Baba, na Neno, na Roho Mtakatifu, na watatu hawa ni umoja.
[9]If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater: for this is the witness of God which he hath testified of his Son.
Kisha wako watatu washuhudiao duniani], Roho, na maji, na damu; na watatu hawa hupatana kwa habari moja. Tukiupokea ushuhuda wa wanadamu, ushuhuda wa Mungu ni mkuu zaidi; kwa maana ushuhuda wa Mungu ndio huu, kwamba amemshuhudia Mwanawe.
[10]He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son.
Yeye amwaminiye Mwana wa Mungu anao huo ushuhuda ndani yake. Asiyemwamini Mungu amemfanya kuwa mwongo, kwa kuwa hakuuamini huo ushuhuda ambao Mungu amemshuhudia Mwanawe.
[11]And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.
Na huu ndio ushuhuda, ya kwamba Mungu alitupa uzima wa milele; na uzima huu umo katika Mwanawe.
[12]He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.
Yeye aliye naye Mwana, anao huo uzima; asiye naye Mwana wa Mungu hana huo uzima. Hitimisho
[13]These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.
Nimewaandikia ninyi mambo hayo, ili mjue ya kuwa mna uzima wa milele, ninyi mnaoliamini Jina la Mwana wa Mungu.
[14]And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:
Na huu ndio ujasiri tulio nao kwake, ya kuwa, tukiomba kitu sawasawa na mapenzi yake, atusikia.
[15]And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.
Na k**a tukijua kwamba atusikia, tuombacho chote, twajua kwamba tunazo zile haja tulizomwomba.
[16]If any man see his brother sin a sin which is not unto death, he shall ask, and he shall give him life for them that sin not unto death. There is a sin unto death: I do not say that he shall pray for it.
Mtu akimwona ndugu yake anatenda dhambi isiyo ya mauti, ataomba, na Mungu atampa uzima kwa ajili ya hao watendao dhambi isiyo ya mauti. Iko dhambi iliyo ya mauti. Sisemi ya kwamba ataomba kwa ajili ya hiyo.
[17]All unrighteousness is sin: and there is a sin not unto death.
Kila lisilo la haki ni dhambi, na dhambi iko isiyo ya mauti.
[18]We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not; but he that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not.
Twajua ya kuwa kila mtu aliyezaliwa na Mungu hatendi dhambi; bali yeye aliyezaliwa na Mungu hujilinda, wala yule mwovu hamgusi.
[19]And we know that we are of God, and the whole world lieth in wickedness.
Twajua ya kuwa sisi tu wa Mungu; na dunia yote pia hukaa katika yule mwovu.
[20]And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.
Nasi twajua kwamba Mwana wa Mungu amekwisha kuja, naye ametupa akili kwamba tumjue yeye aliye wa kweli, nasi tumo ndani yake yeye aliye wa kweli, yaani, ndani ya Mwana wake Yesu Kristo. Huyu ndiye Mungu wa kweli, na uzima wa milele.
[21]Little children, keep yourselves from idols. Amen.
Watoto wadogo, jilindeni nafsi zenu na sanamu.

English Swahili. Matthew 15:1-39
[1]Then came to Jesus scribes and Pharisees, which were of Jerusalem, saying,
Ndipo Mafarisayo na waandishi toka Yerusalemu walipomwendea Yesu wakisema,
[2]Why do thy disciples transgress the tradition of the elders? for they wash not their hands when they eat bread.
Mbona wanafunzi wako huyahalifu mapokeo ya wazee, kwa maana hawanawi mikono walapo chakula.
[3]But he answered and said unto them, Why do ye also transgress the commandment of God by your tradition?
Akajibu, akawaambia, Mbona ninyi nanyi huihalifu amri ya Mungu kwa ajili ya mapokeo yenu?
[4]For God commanded, saying, Honour thy father and mother: and, He that curseth father or mother, let him die the death.
Kwa kuwa Mungu alisema, Mheshimu baba yako na mama yako, na Amtukanaye baba yake au mama yake kufa na afe.
[5]But ye say, Whosoever shall say to his father or his mother, It is a gift, by whatsoever thou mightest be profited by me;
Bali ninyi husema, Atakayemwambia babaye au mamaye, Cho chote kikupasacho kusaidiwa na mimi ni wakfu,
[6]And honour not his father or his mother, he shall be free. Thus have ye made the commandment of God of none effect by your tradition.
basi asimheshimu baba yake au mama yake. Mkalitangua neno la Mungu kwa ajili ya mapokeo yenu.
[7]Ye hypocrites, well did Esaias prophesy of you, saying,
Enyi wanafiki, ni vema alivyotabiri Isaya kwa habari zenu, akisema,
[8]This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.
Watu hawa huniheshimu kwa midomo; Ila mioyo yao iko mbali nami.
[9]But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.
Nao waniabudu bure, Wakifundisha mafundisho Yaliyo maagizo ya wanadamu. Mambo Yatiayo Unajisi
[10]And he called the multitude, and said unto them, Hear, and understand:
Akawaita makutano akawaambia
[11]Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man; but that which cometh out of the mouth, this defileth a man.
Sikilizeni, mfahamu; Sicho kiingiacho kinywani kimtiacho mtu unajisi; bali kitokacho kinywani ndicho kimtiacho mtu unajisi.
[12]Then came his disciples, and said unto him, Knowest thou that the Pharisees were offended, after they heard this saying?
Ndipo wanafunzi wake walipomwendea, wakamwambia, Wajua ya kuwa Mafarisayo walipolisikia neno lile walichukizwa?
[13]But he answered and said, Every plant, which my heavenly Father hath not planted, shall be rooted up.
Akajibu, akasema, Kila pando asilolipanda Baba yangu wa mbinguni litang’olewa.
[14]Let them alone: they be blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch.
Waacheni; hao ni viongozi vipofu wa vipofu. Na kipofu akimwongoza kipofu mwenzake, watatumbukia shimoni wote wawili.
[15]Then answered Peter and said unto him, Declare unto us this parable.
Basi Petro akajibu, akamwambia, Tueleze mfano huo.
[16]And Jesus said, Are ye also yet without understanding?
Yesu akasema, Hata sasa ninyi nanyi mngali hamna akili?
[17]Do not ye yet understand, that whatsoever entereth in at the mouth goeth into the belly, and is cast out into the draught?
Hamjafahamu bado ya kuwa kila kiingiacho kinywani hupita tumboni, kikatupwa chooni?
[18]But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man.
Bali vitokavyo kinywani vyatoka moyoni; navyo ndivyo vimtiavyo mtu unajisi.
[19]For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies:
Kwa maana moyoni hutoka mawazo mabaya, uuaji, uzinzi, uasherati; wivi, ushuhuda wa uongo, na matukano;
[20]These are the things which defile a man: but to eat with unwashen hands defileth not a man.
hayo ndiyo yamtiayo mtu unajisi; lakini kula kabla hajanawa mikono hakumtii mtu unajisi. Imani ya Mwanamke Mkanaani
[21]Then Jesus went thence, and departed into the coasts of Tyre and Sidon.
Yesu akaondoka huko, akaenda kando pande za Tiro na Sidoni.
[22]And, behold, a woman of Canaan came out of the same coasts, and cried unto him, saying, Have mercy on me, O Lord, thou Son of David; my daughter is grievously vexed with a devil.
Na tazama, mwanamke Mkananayo wa mipaka ile akatokea, akampazia sauti akisema, Unirehemu, Bwana, Mwana wa Daudi; binti yangu amepagawa sana na pepo.
[23]But he answered her not a word. And his disciples came and besought him, saying, Send her away; for she crieth after us.
Wala yeye hakumjibu neno. Nao wanafunzi wake wakamwendea, wakamwomba, wakisema, Mwache aende zake; kwa maana anapiga kelele nyuma yetu.
[24]But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
Akajibu, akasema, Sikutumwa ila kwa kondoo waliopotea wa nyumba ya Israeli.
[25]Then came she and worshipped him, saying, Lord, help me.
Naye akaja akamsujudia, akisema Bwana, unisaidie.
[26]But he answered and said, It is not meet to take the children's bread, and to cast it to dogs.
Akajibu, akasema, Si vema kukitwaa chakula cha watoto na kuwatupia mbwa.
[27]And she said, Truth, Lord: yet the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their masters' table.
Akasema, Ndiyo, Bwana, lakini hata mbwa hula makombo yaangukayo mezani pa bwana zao.
[28]Then Jesus answered and said unto her, O woman, great is thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt. And her daughter was made whole from that very hour.
Ndipo Yesu akajibu, akamwambia, Mama, imani yako ni kubwa; na iwe kwako k**a utakavyo. Akapona binti yake tangu saa ile. Yesu Awaponya Watu Wengi
[29]And Jesus departed from thence, and came nigh unto the sea of Galilee; and went up into a mountain, and sat down there.
Yesu akaondoka huko, akafika kando ya bahari ya Galilaya; akapanda mlimani, akaketi huko.
[30]And great multitudes came unto him, having with them those that were lame, blind, dumb, maimed, and many others, and cast them down at Jesus' feet; and he healed them:
Wakamwendea makutano mengi wakimletea viwete, vipofu, mabubu, vilema, na wengine wengi, wakawaweka miguuni pake; akawaponya;
[31]Insomuch that the multitude wondered, when they saw the dumb to speak, the maimed to be whole, the lame to walk, and the blind to see: and they glorified the God of Israel.
hata ule mkutano wakastaajabu, walipowaona mabubu wanasema, vilema wanakuwa wazima, viwete wanakwenda, na vipofu wanaona; wakamtukuza Mungu wa Israeli. Kulishwa kwa Watu Elfu Nne
[32]Then Jesus called his disciples unto him, and said, I have compassion on the multitude, because they continue with me now three days, and have nothing to eat: and I will not send them away fasting, lest they faint in the way.
Yesu akawaita wanafunzi wake, akasema, Nawahurumia mkutano, kwa kuwa yapata siku tatu wamekaa pamoja nami, wala hawana kitu cha kula, tena kuwaaga wakifunga sipendi, wasije wakazimia njiani.
[33]And his disciples say unto him, Whence should we have so much bread in the wilderness, as to fill so great a multitude?
Wanafunzi wake wakamwambia, Tupate wapi mikate mingi hapa nyikani, hata kushibisha mkutano mkuu namna hii?
[34]And Jesus saith unto them, How many loaves have ye? And they said, Seven, and a few little fishes.
Yesu akawaambia, Mnayo mikate mingapi? Wakasema, Saba, na visamaki vichache.
[35]And he commanded the multitude to sit down on the ground.
Akawaagiza mkutano waketi chini;
[36]And he took the seven loaves and the fishes, and gave thanks, and brake them, and gave to his disciples, and the disciples to the multitude.
akaitwaa ile mikate saba na vile visamaki, akashukuru akavimega, akawapa wanafunzi wake, nao wanafunzi wakawapa makutano.
[37]And they did all eat, and were filled: and they took up of the broken meat that was left seven baskets full.
Wakala wote wakashiba; wakayaokota masazo ya vipande vya mikate makanda saba, yamejaa.
[38]And they that did eat were four thousand men, beside women and children.
Nao waliokula walikuwa wanaume elfu nne, bila wanawake na watoto.
[39]And he sent away the multitude, and took ship, and came into the coasts of Magdala.
Akawaaga makutano, akapanda chomboni, akaenda pande za Magadani.

English Swahili. Jeremiah 29:11-14
[11]For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.
Maana nayajua mawazo ninayowawazia ninyi, asema BWANA, ni mawazo ya amani wala si ya mabaya, kuwapa ninyi tumaini siku zenu za mwisho.
[12]Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you.
Nanyi mtaniita, mtakwenda na kuniomba, nami nitawasikiliza.
[13]And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.
Nanyi mtanitafuta na kuniona, mtakaponitafuta kwa moyo wenu wote.
[14]And I will be found of you, saith the LORD: and I will turn away your captivity, and I will gather you from all the nations, and from all the places whither I have driven you, saith the LORD; and I will bring you again into the place whence I caused you to be carried away captive.
Nami nitaonekana kwenu, asema BWANA, nami nitawarudisha watu wenu waliofungwa, nami nitawakusanya ninyi, nikiwatoa katika mataifa yote, na katika mahali pote, nilikowafukuza, asema BWANA; nami nitawaleta tena, hata mahali ambapo kutoka hapo naliwafanya mchukuliwe mateka.

[1](A Psalm of David.) LORD, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill?
BWANA, ni nani atakayekaa Katika hema yako? Ni nani atakayefanya maskani yake Katika kilima chako kitakatifu?
[2]He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the truth in his heart.
Ni mtu aendaye kwa ukamilifu, Na kutenda haki. Asemaye kweli kwa moyo wake,
[3]He that backbiteth not with his tongue, nor doeth evil to his neighbour, nor taketh up a reproach against his neighbour.
Asiyesingizia kwa ulimi wake. Wala hakumtenda mwenziwe mabaya, Wala hakumsengenya jirani yake.
[4]In whose eyes a vile person is contemned; but he honoureth them that fear the LORD. He that sweareth to his own hurt, and changeth not.
Machoni pake mtu asiyefaa hudharauliwa, Bali huwaheshimu wamchao BWANA Ingawa ameapa kwa hasara yake, Hayabadili maneno yake.
[5]He that putteth not out his money to usury, nor taketh reward against the innocent. He that doeth these things shall never be moved.
Hakutoa fedha yake apate kula riba, Hakutwaa rushwa amwangamize asiye na hatia. Mtu atendaye mambo hayo Hataondoshwa milele.

Shalom this beautiful Sunday. Today I woke up with this devotion. The scarcity we are going through is final. Jesus Christ had to face His challenge of death once and for all just to bring finality! Yes what if what you are going through is for finality? Receive the Grace to finish strong in the Lord with finality in Jesus Name. Amen
