Reflection: Lord, Teach My Heart

Lord, teach my heart never to forget You — in every season, whether in joy or in pain. When life is bright and everything glows, remind me to stay humble and grateful; when the road grows rough, remind me that You are still near. Guard my mouth and my words, that they may heal and not wound. When pride tempts me to speak too soon, teach me silence; when prejudice clouds my heart, teach me compassion. Keep me from arrogance in victory and from despair in loss. Forgive me for the careless moments when my ego spoke louder than love. Wash me clean of all that keeps me from seeing others with kindness. When I fail, help me not to hide, but to return to You with honesty and humility. Lower my ego, Lord, until it kneels, and lift my soul until it trusts again. Teach me that true strength is found in gentleness, that love is quiet but enduring, that peace begins inside before it can live outside. Remind me not to seek You only when I am broken, but also when I am whole. May every breath I take remind me that I am Yours; may every sunrise awaken gratitude within me; may every word I speak carry grace; and may my life, in both its brokenness and beauty, be a quiet reflection of Your love. Amen.

When Tomorrow Feels Too Big

A reflection on Proverbs 27:1, Matthew 6:34, and Philippians 4:6-7

There are days when tomorrow feels like a storm cloud on the horizon.
You can’t see it yet, but you can feel it coming.
The weight of questions you can’t answer, outcomes you can’t control, and hopes that feel too fragile to hold.
And then you read this:

> “Do not boast about tomorrow, for you do not know what a day may bring.”
— Proverbs 27:1

At first, it feels sharp. Almost cold.
How do I not think about tomorrow?
How do I not worry when the rent is due, when the child is sick, when the job is uncertain, when the silence from God feels long?

And yet, it is in that same unknowing that God gives us an unexpected gift: presence.
Not answers. Not blueprints. But Himself.

Jesus says:

> “Do not worry about tomorrow… Each day has enough trouble of its own.”
— Matthew 6:34

It’s not denial. He’s not saying “pretend everything’s okay.”
He’s saying: “You’re not built to carry what hasn’t happened yet.”

You’re not weak for feeling anxious.
You’re human.
And God meets us in that—tenderly, patiently, faithfully.

He doesn’t shame us for fearing tomorrow.
He invites us to trust Him with it.

---

There is mystery in the way God works.
Sometimes He shows up with miracles.
Other times He shows up with enough strength just to breathe through the next hour.
And both are mercy.

When you worry—and you will—let it become a signal, not of failure, but of need.
A call back into prayer. A reason to reach again for His Word.
A moment to whisper:

> “God, I don’t feel strong enough. But I believe You are.”

This is not blind hope.
It’s rooted in the One who has never failed a single promise.

> “Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.”
— 1 Peter 5:7

Today, take the next step.
That’s enough.
Let tomorrow stay in God’s hands—for that’s where it has always been.

Even if the hopes you started out with are dashed, hope has to be maintained." "If it were not for hopes, the heart would break." "At the end of the day, we must go forward with hope and not backward by fear and division." "Life will be brighter than noonday, and darkness will become like morning. What gives me the most hope every day is God's grace; knowing that his grace is going to give me the strength for whatever I face, knowing that nothing is a surprise to God

We can know everything there is to be known about God and scriptures, we can purport to have a strong relationship with God, we can evangelize and get people to come to God but if there is no kindness in us, if there is no respect for others, if there is no Love displayed to those 'undeserving' of it...there's no real spiritual growth.

If our relationship with God is real, it MUST transform us. It must transform our relationship with ourselves and our relationship with others. The scriptures say that before you go to make sacrifices to God, go make peace with your brother.

We are in an age where our relationships with each other are degraded and seen as not so important...we have no patience and empathy and cutting off people has become a trend. Personal relationships are seen almost as a hinderance to or distraction from progress, especially spiritual progress. My people, personal relationships with especially those close to you are the real portal to spiritual evolution.

If you can, in your daily life, move from focusing only on me, myself and I. If for once you put those close to you first, serve them, respect them, be kind to them, love them, you will be well on your journey to conquering your ego.

Your ego is the only thing standing between you and God's grace... and believe me, we all need God's grace in whatever shape and form you may describe it.

Christ is the pillar of our lives

WHO GUIDES US?IS GOD GUIDING MY PATHS
Sometimes it can feel like the Lord isn’t leading you toward anything significant in life. Or worse, that He has overlooked or abandoned you. One story reminds us that idea just isn’t true.
In summary, we are God’s precious flock (Acts 20:28), and Jesus is the Good Shepherd Who calls each sheep by name (John 10:3). We don’t need to know beforehand all the details of the journey our Shepherd is taking us on (Deuteronomy 29:29; Proverbs 20:24); our job is simply to trust Him, listen carefully to His voice in the Bible, and follow wherever He leads (John 10:27). Although right now you may find it hard to believe, one day you will look back in amazement at how Jesus guided you through life, weaving a path even through your pain, mistakes and sins, to reach His perfect destination (Genesis 50:20; Romans 12:33-36). Until then, Jesus’ command is simple: hear Him and obey Him as He leads you on life’s journey.

“Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight”

Trust Him to Make a Way

Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God. (Psalm 20:7, NIV)

It’s easy to get discouraged when things don’t go your way. Maybe you aren’t getting out of debt as fast as you wanted. Or, you’re experiencing some challenges in your health or relationships. We have to be careful not to give up just because it hasn’t happened on our timetable. Remember, we serve a supernatural God. His ways are higher than our ways. When we believe, all things become possible!

The first step is to quit trying to figure everything out. There may not be a way in the natural, but that’s okay. God can do what men can’t do. Think about the children of Israel. When they left Egypt, there were two million of them. Then, Pharaoh came chasing after them, and when they came to a dead end at the Red Sea, it looked like it was over. They couldn’t see a way out, but that didn’t mean there wasn’t a way. God simply parted the Red Sea, and they went through on dry ground.

Remember, if it looks like there is no way in the natural, trust God to make a way. He’ll part the waters if He has to! He’ll do whatever it takes to lead and guide you in the path of victory that He has prepared for you!

Father, I trust that with You, all things are possible. I take my eyes off of my circumstances and put my trust and hope in You. I bless You and thank You for Your faithfulness in Jesus\ name. Amen.

As You Wait

Dear brothers and sisters, be patient as you wait for the Lords return. Consider the farmers who patiently wait for the rains in the fall and in the spring. They eagerly look for the valuable harvest to ripen. (James 5:7, NLT)

God has put dreams and desires in every person’s heart. But most of the time, there’s a season of waiting involved. Maybe you’re waiting for a relationship to improve; waiting to get married; waiting for a promotion, or waiting to overcome an illness. Much of life is spent waiting. But there’s a right way to wait and a wrong way to wait. Too often, when things don’t happen on our timetable, we get down and discouraged or anxious and fretful. That’s because we’re not waiting the right way.

Notice that today’s verse doesn’t say if you wait, it says as you wait. The fact is that we’re all going to wait. It goes on to say that we should consider how the farmer waits—patiently and eagerly. We’re not supposed to sit around discouraged; we’re supposed to be hopeful, positive and full of expectancy!

No matter what you are believing for, expect things to change in your favor. Today could be the day that God turns it all around. As you wait with patience and expectancy, you’ll open the door for God to move. He’ll fight your battles, and you’ll see that abundant harvest He’s promised in every area of your life!

Father, today I choose to wait expectantly for You. I trust that You are working behind the scenes on my behalf. I put my trust and hope in You knowing that You have good things in store for my future in Jesus name. Amen.

God. purpose in our lives is very key.The following are guidelines that will help you discover why you are here on earth

1.What will be the center of my life?

This is the question of worship. Whom are you going to live for? What are you going to build your life around? You can center your life on your career, your family, a sport or hobby, money, or many other activities. These can all be good things, but they don’t belong at the center of your life. None is strong enough to hold you together when life starts breaking apart. You need an unshakable center.

In 2 Chron. 14:4, King Asa told the people of Judah to “center their lives in God.” Actually, whatever is at the center of your life is your god! If you have committed your life to Christ, He moved into the center, but you must keep Him there on a daily basis. How do you know when God is at the center of your life? When He’s at the center, you worship. When He’s not, you worry. Worry is the warning light that God has been shoved to the sideline of your life. The moment you put Him back at the center, you’ll have peace again. Philippians 4:7 says, “A sense of God’s wholeness... will come and settle you down”. It’s wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of your life.

2. What will be the character of my life?

This is the question of discipleship. What kind of person will you be? God is far more interested in what you are than what you do because you are going to take your character into eternity, not your career. Make a list of the character qualities you want to work on and develop in your life. You might begin with the fruit of the Spirit in Gal. 5:22-23 or the Beatitudes of Jesus in Matt. 5:3-12.

3. What will be the contribution of my life?

This is the question of service. Knowing your combination of spiritual gifts, heart, abilities, personality, and experiences (your S.H.A.P.E.), what would be your best role and how can you make a difference? To be balanced, you need both a “ministry” to believers and a “mission” to unbelievers. You serve in both the church and the world. What will be your ministry in the Body of Christ?

While you’re shaped to serve others, even Jesus didn’t meet the needs of everyone while on earth. You must choose whom you can best help, based on your shape. You need to ask “Whom do I have a desire to help most?” Jesus said in John 15:16a, “I commissioned you to go out and to bear fruit, fruit that will last.” Each of us bears different fruit.

4. What will be the communication of my life?

This is the question of your mission in the world. God not only has a mission for your life, He has a unique life message that He wants to speak to the world through you. Who needs to hear your unique story of faith? If you’re a parent, part of your mission is to raise your children to know Christ, to help them understand His purposes for their lives, and to send them out on their mission in the world.

Of course, our lives must support the message we communicate. Before most unbelievers accept the Bible as credible, they want to know that we are credible. That’s why the Bible says in Phil. 1:27 “Be sure that you live in a way that brings honor to the Good News of Christ.”

5. What will be the community of my life?

This is the question of fellowship. How will you demonstrate your commitment to other believers and connection to the family of God? To which church family will you be joined as a functioning member? The more you mature, the more you’ll love Christ’s body and want to sacrifice for it. Ephesians 5:25 says, “Christ loved the church and gave His life for it.”

I once heard the suggestion that you develop your life purpose statement based on what you’d like other people to say about you at your funeral. Frankly, that’s a bad plan. At the end of your life, it isn’t going to matter what other people say about you. The only thing that will matter is what God says about you. 1 Thessalonians 2:4b says, “Our purpose is to please God, not people.”

One day, God will review your answers to these life questions: Did you really put Jesus Christ at the center of your life? Did you develop His character? Did you devote your life to serving others? Did you communicate His message and fulfill His mission? Did you really learn to love His family, the Church? These are the only issues that will count.

let's keep calling upon God . Jeremiah 29:10-14a), we read. “This is what the LORD says: “When seventy years are completed for Babylon, I will come to you and fulfill my gracious promise to bring you back to this place. For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. The you will call upon men and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you,” declares the Lord.” Back to our key passage. God has wonderful things in store for the future. Only God knows the future. God shared with Jeremiah what He was going to do.
