In Solomon’s old age, they turned his heart to worship other gods instead of being completely faithful to the LORD his God, as his father, David, had been.
Solomon worshiped Ashtoreth, the goddess of the Sidonians, and Molech, the detestable god of the Ammonites.
In this way, Solomon did what was evil in the LORD ’s sight; he refused to follow the LORD completely, as his father, David, had done.
The LORD was very angry with Solomon, for his heart had turned away from the LORD, the God of Israel, who had appeared to him twice.
He had warned Solomon specifically about worshiping other gods, but Solomon did not listen to the LORD ’s command.
So now the LORD said to him, “Since you have not kept my covenant and have disobeyed my decrees, I will surely tear the kingdom away from you and give it to one of your servants.

👉🏽Kenyans, as an individual which God are you worshiping?
👉🏽Whatever is happening in our Nation is not new at all.
👉🏽Solomon married 700 wives and 300 concubines. And in fact, they did turn his heart away from the LORD .
👉🏽He got the wrong people surround and advice him.
👉🏽Imagine at his old age he turned away from God.
👉🏽Wrong friends, advisors can make one turn away from worshiping the one and only true God.
👉🏽Kenyans God loves us, but we have invited and worshipped other gods, as individuals, as families, churches and as a nation.
👉🏽We have disobeyed the commands and decrees of God.
👉🏽We have not kept the covenant of God.
👉🏽We are doing things our way and not as the Lord directs us.
👉🏽Wacheni kuabudu miungu ya kigeni
👉🏽Kenyans let's return to GOD with a sincere repenting heart.

May the LORD our God be with us as He was with our ancestors; may He never leave us or abandon us.

May He give us the desire to do His will in everything and to obey all the commands, decrees, and regulations that He gave our ancestors.

And may these words that I have prayed in the presence of the LORD be before Him constantly, day and night, so that the LORD our God may give justice to me and to His people Israel, according to each day’s needs.

Then people all over the earth will know that the LORD alone is God and there is no other.

God promises that if we draw near to Him, then He will draw near to us. He is willing to meet us right where we are! He can wash away our sin and help us find a fresh and more solid footing for our lives. Draw near to God through prayer, worship, reading of God’s word, and spending time around His people. As you pursue him you will begin to experience more of His presence in your life.

Suffering is a part of God’s plan. This is a really tough truth to accept. We all want to avoid hardship but God uses these seasons to refine us. He does not waste our pain. He uses it for his glory.
