"WHAT ABOUT THE PEOPLE WHO LIVED BEFORE JESUS?"
‎
‎This question assumes that Jesus only began to exist when He was born in Bethlehem.
‎But that is not what the Bible teaches.
‎Jesus did not begin in Bethlehem.
‎Bethlehem was where He became flesh.
‎
‎John 1:1
‎"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God."
‎
‎Before there was Abraham, Moses, David, or any nation, Christ already existed.
‎
‎John 8:58
‎"Before Abraham was, I AM."
‎
‎Jesus did not say, "Before Abraham was, I was."
‎He said, "I AM" — the eternal One.
‎The men and women of the Old Testament were not saved by another Savior.
‎They were saved by Christ revealed in type, shadow, prophecy, and promise.
‎Abraham believed God and it was counted unto him for righteousness.

‎John 8:56
‎"Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day: and he saw it, and was glad."
‎
‎Abraham looked forward to Christ.
‎We look back to Christ.
‎But both look to the same Savior.
‎Jesus is not God's Plan B.
‎He is:
‎Revelation 13:8
‎"The Lamb slain from the foundation of the world."
‎
_‎The cross happened in history, but God's redemptive plan existed before the foundation of the world._
‎Therefore, the question is not:
‎"What happened to those who lived before Jesus?"
‎The answer is simple:
‎ Those who believed God's revelation concerning the coming Christ were justified by faith, just as believers are today.

‎ From Genesis to Revelation, salvation has always been by grace through faith in Christ
‎
‎Jesus existed before creation.
‎Jesus was active throughout the Old Testament.
‎Jesus became flesh for the purpose of redemption.
‎And today, just as in Abraham's day, salvation is found in Him alone.
‎Christ did not begin in Bethlehem.
‎Christ is eternal.
‎Christ is the life and light of every generation.

THE LIFE OF FAITH

(2). The Anchor of Faith

Key Scripture Heb.12.2 looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God

Supporting Scriptures: John 20:31; Romans 3:21–26

Yesterday we established that faith is born through divine revelation (Romans 10:17). Today we establish its anchor. Faith that is not anchored in Christ will eventually drift.

The strength of faith is measured by the certainty of the One in whom we believe. Jesus Christ is the anchor of faith. His Person is immutable, and His finished work is complete. John wrote that we might believe in Him and have life through His name (John 20:31), while Paul declares that righteousness is received through faith in Jesus Christ because of His atoning sacrifice (Romans 3:21–26).

Faith does not cling to promises apart from Christ; it clings to Christ, in whom every promise of God is secured. Therefore, when circumstances shake us, our faith remains steadfast because its anchor is not in this world but in the unchanging Son of God.

Meditation: Faith is only as secure as its anchor. Since Christ is unchanging, faith anchored in Him can never be disappointed.

THE LIFE OF FAITH

The Revelation That Produces Faith

Key Scripture:Rom.10.17 Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word of Christ(NIV)

Grace and peace to you in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Faith does not originate in the human heart; it is awakened by divine revelation. The source of genuine faith is not human resolve but the revelation of God through His Word.

The Apostle Paul declares, "So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ" (Romans 10:17). As the Holy Spirit unveils the Person and work of Christ, the heart is persuaded of the certainty of what God has spoken.

This principle is evident throughout Scripture. "By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God" (Hebrews 11:3). Faith begins with God's revelation. Likewise, Jesus said, "The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life" (John 6:63). The Word not only informs the mind; it imparts life to the spirit, producing the faith by which we receive and walk with Christ.

Where His Word is received, faith is born; where His Word is embraced, faith matures.
