Diocese of Mumias in Virtual Global Bible Studies.

For several years now, a small team of Anglicans from the Diocese of Mumias, including Bishop Joseph Wandera, has continued to participate in virtual Bible studies with fellow Anglicans from the Diocese of North Carolina, the Diocese of Harare, the Diocese of Botswana, Costa Rica, and the Church of England.

Participants prepare in advance by reading a selected passage from the Bible. Lively discussions then take place during the virtual sessions.

"These global Bible study sessions have become important avenues for my personal spiritual nourishment, especially in our context where the cultural expectation is often that the bishop should be the lead interpreter of biblical texts," says Bishop Wandera. "During the Bible studies, we interpret Scripture together from our varied contexts," he adds.

Today, Dr. Bothwell Mbuwayesango (Diocese of Harare) will facilitate the Bible study based on Mark 10:27–31. Professor Dora Mbuwayesango, an Old Testament scholar based in the USA, is the convener. The study begins at 6:00 p.m. (Kenyan time).

We invite Anglicans from the Diocese of Mumias to join today's Bible study using the details provided below

*33 Days to Annual Family Day Celebration*

On Sunday 12th July 2026, Christians will gather at the Cathedral Church for the Diocesan Annual Family Thanksgiving to give thanks for the immeasurable grace that God has bestowed upon us.

The celebration is guided by the theme from Paul's letter to the church in Ephesus, Ephesians 3:20–21, which reminds us of God, who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine.

As part of the preparations, the Cathedral Church today held a Thanksgiving service led by the Provost, Rev. Dickson Osundwa. During the service, Christians raised over KSh 300,000 towards the event.

The service was graced by the Diocesan Bishop, Rt. Rev. Dr. Joseph Wandera, who encouraged the congregation to count their blessings and recognize how abundantly God has blessed them.
