LEADERSHIP, MANAGEMENT & MISSION TRAINING BEGINS AT BISHOP HANINGTON INSTITUTE

The ACK Diocese of Mombasa has commenced a five-day Leadership, Management & Mission Training for diocesan ministry leaders at the Bishop Hanington Institute of Theological Studies.

The training, running from 24th–28th August 2026, brings together clergy, evangelists and lay ministers for a time of learning, reflection and practical leadership development.

The programme focuses on strengthening ministry leadership through biblical and theological foundations, servant leadership, stewardship, spiritual formation, self-leadership, emotional intelligence, time management, productivity, teamwork and effective ministry practices.

The sessions are being facilitated by various diocesan leaders and experienced facilitators, providing participants with practical tools to serve the Church with greater wisdom, integrity and effectiveness.

As the training continues through the week, the Diocese seeks to equip its ministry leaders to lead with faith, humility and purpose, strengthening the Church’s mission and impact in the communities it serves.

Diocesan Youth Call to Worship Held at ACK St. Paul’s Ukunda

The ACK Diocese of Mombasa Youth Department held a Diocesan Youth Call to Worship at ACK St. Paul’s Ukunda in partnership with the Mombasa Community Development Trust (MCDT).

The gathering brought together young people for a time of worship, fellowship, and spiritual encouragement as they continue growing in faith and service to Christ.

The service was led by the Diocesan Youth Coordinator, Rev. Kelvin Olang, who encouraged the youth to remain steadfast in their Christian calling and become agents of positive transformation in their communities.

The Diocese remains committed to nurturing Christ-centered young people who will build renewed churches and transformed neighborhoods.

𝗞𝗔𝗬𝗢 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 𝗖𝗢𝗡𝗙𝗘𝗥𝗘𝗡𝗖𝗘 𝗨𝗡𝗗𝗘𝗥𝗪𝗔𝗬 𝗜𝗡 𝗨𝗣𝗣𝗘𝗥 𝗦𝗢𝗨𝗧𝗛𝗘𝗥𝗡 𝗡𝗬𝗔𝗡𝗭𝗔

The 2026 KAYO Conference is underway at The Kisii School in the Diocese of Upper Southern Nyanza, bringing together more than 2,000 young people from across Kenya and beyond under the theme of wholesome youth, purposeful living and caring for God’s creation.

The conference was officially opened in the presence of His Grace Archbishop Jackson Ole Sapit Archbishop of the Anglican Church of Kenya, alongside several bishops and church leaders from across the Province.

The Anglican Diocese of Mombasa is proudly represented at this important gathering by a delegation of young people led by the Diocesan KAYO Chairman, Mr. Esmond Young.

The Mombasa delegation joins other young Anglicans in reflecting on faith, leadership, mission, environmental stewardship and the responsibility of young people in shaping the future of the Church and society.

KAYO 2026 is a timely reminder that young people are not merely the Church of tomorrow they are an integral part of the Church today, called to live out their faith, serve their communities and become responsible stewards of God’s creation.

As the conference continues, the Diocese of Mombasa celebrates its young people and prays for a fruitful time of fellowship, learning, spiritual growth and mission.

ACK ST. LUKE’S MAKUPA MARKS 70 YEARS OF FAITH AND MISSION

ACK ST Luke's Makupa marked a significant milestone as the congregation celebrated 70 years since the laying of the foundation stone, commemorating seven decades of faith, ministry, and witness in the community.

The thanksgiving service was led by Rev. Mary Wamuti, bringing together clergy, Mothers’ Union members, parishioners, and friends of the church in a joyful celebration.

The occasion also marked the climax of the Mothers’ Union Talanta Week, a week that brought together mothers in service, fellowship, prayer, environmental care, and outreach to the sick and needy.

The celebrations began with a colourful procession from Saba Saba to St. Luke’s Makupa, filling the streets with songs, joy, and thanksgiving as the faithful journeyed to the church.

As St. Luke’s Makupa celebrates 70 years, the milestone stands as a testimony to God’s faithfulness and the enduring mission of the Church from one generation to another.

MOTHERS’ UNION TALENT WEEK CLIMAX

The Mothers’ Union Talent Week reaches its climax as Mothers’ Union members take the lead in worship and preaching across all services in the Diocese of Mombasa.

The climax marks the culmination of a meaningful week of service, fellowship, prayer and community outreach. Throughout the week, Mothers’ Union members engaged in planting trees, cleaning the environment, visiting the sick and needy, fellowshipping together, and dedicating time to prayer.

From caring for creation to reaching out to those in need, the week has been a powerful expression of faith in action reminding us that ministry is lived not only within the church, but also in our communities.

As the Mothers’ Union leads worship across the Diocese, the week closes with a renewed call to continue serving, caring and building stronger families and communities in Christ.

A CELEBRATION OF LOVE AND NEW BEGINNINGS

Andrew and Linet were joined in holy matrimony at ACK St. Luke’s the Evangelist, Vishakani, in a beautiful celebration of love, faith, and family.

The wedding service was presided over by the Diocesan Administrative Secretary, Rev. Canon George Kuza, who offered prayers and blessings as the couple began their journey together in marriage.

The celebration brought together Diocesan staff, family members, and friends, who gathered to witness and celebrate this joyful milestone with the newlyweds.

SUPPORT THE CONSTRUCTION OF ACK MALOMANI CHURCH

The ACK Diocese of Mombasa, through the Diocesan Council of the Kenya Anglican Men's Association (K**A), warmly invites all faithful, friends, and well-wishers to a fundraising event in support of the construction of ACK Malomani Church, Samburu.

This initiative seeks to raise KSh 3 Million towards the construction of a permanent place of worship for the growing Christian community at Malomani.

COURT II OF THE DIOCESAN LEADERSHIP TRAINING UNDERWAY

The second cohort of the Diocesan Leadership Training commenced on Monday, 27th July 2026, and will run through 31st July 2026, bringing together clergy and church leaders for a week of learning, reflection, and leadership development.

The training is being led by the Diocesan Registrar, the Very Rev. Canon Dr. Festus Kiseu, who is guiding participants through key areas of church leadership, governance, ministry, and administration. The sessions are designed to equip leaders with practical and spiritual tools for effective service within the Diocese.

This ongoing formation reflects the Diocesen's commitment to raising faithful, competent, and Christ-centred leaders w ho will strengthen the Church's mission and serve their congregations with wisdom, integrity, and excellence.

ACK Diocese of Mombasa Hosts Courtesy Meeting with Equipping Farmers International

The ACK Diocese of Mombasa today hosted representatives from Equipping Farmers International (EFI) in a meeting with diocesan staff at the diocesan offices. The meeting was led by the Diocesan Administration Secretary, the Rev. Canon George Kuza.

During the meeting, the EFI team presented the organization's work, highlighting its commitment to equipping smallholder farmers through conservation agriculture, climate-smart farming, farmer training, access to agricultural inputs, market linkages, and community empowerment initiatives across Africa.

The presentation also showcased EFI's faith-based approach to promoting sustainable agriculture, environmental conservation, food security, and improved livelihoods among farming communities.

The meeting provided an opportunity for diocesan staff to learn more about EFI's programs and their impact in supporting communities through agricultural development.

The ACK Diocese of Mombasa marked Sea Sunday with a special diocesan service at the Mission to Seafarers, joining in prayer for seafarers, fishers, port workers, and all whose lives and livelihoods are connected to the sea.

The service was led by The Rt. Rev. Prof. Joseph Galgalo, Assistant Bishop of All Saints' Cathedral Diocese, and assisted by Rev. Canon George Kuza, Diocesan Administration Secretary.

The celebration was graced by the Coadjutor Archbishop, The Most Rev. Dominic Kimengich of the Catholic Archdiocese of Mombasa, General Samson Mwathethe, Chairman of the Mission to Seafarers, together with representatives from the Kenya Maritime Authority (KMA), Kenya Ports Authority (KPA), the Kenya Navy, and Stella Maris, reflecting the shared commitment to the welfare and pastoral care of seafarers.

As a coastal diocese, the ACK Diocese of Mombasa continues to uphold the ministry of prayer, care, and hospitality for the maritime community, asking God's protection, peace, and abundant blessings upon all who journey across the seas.
