THE BENEFITS OF EVANGELISM TO THOSE THAT EVANGELIZE
God has promises to those that evangelize His word. The following are the benefits you will get for evangelizing the word of God:
Evangelism deepens the believer’s knowledge of God’s word
Being an evangelist, teacher or preacher of the word of God enables one to deepen his or her knowledge of God’s undiluted word. This is true because it will make the believer to constantly study the word of God with great passion. Hence, Apostle Paul’s admonition to Timothy in 2 Timothy 2:15: Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. Timothy was a young Evangelist taking care of a church at the time Apostle Paul wrote to him. Knowing the importance of studying the word of God, Paul wrote to Timothy advising him to do so; because without it, he cannot minister the word of God effectively. You have to study and show yourself approved first before you go out to evangelize. Thus, one of the benefits you have now as an evangelist is that it makes you to search and study more of the word of God and by so doing, you will be more matured and deeply rooted in the word of God.
Evangelism makes the believer to live for God
So long as you are not a hypocrite, teaching or evangelizing will make you to live for God. Evangelizing will make you to live a holy life. As a child of God, ensure that you do what you say. Hence, before you open your mouth and tell others to repent and live for God, you must already have done so yourself. In doing so, you are expected to use yourself as an example to tell others about salvation. So, if you are not living in peace with your neighbours or you are living life of immorality, what then will you tell your neighbours? So instead of one not to disappoint him or herself and the church, one have to live a holy life as to enable him or her to confidently tell the neighbors to repent and give their lives to Christ. These days I get surprised when I see people who are openly living lives that are contrary to what the word of God says claiming to speak for God. No wonder people do not make any decisions for Christ.
In conclusion, evangelism is really good and every child of God is expected to take part in it. It is one of the reasons why we are been saved so as to bring others to Christ. That is the will of God for us. There are lots of blessings for those that obey this great commission God gave to us as we have already discussed in previous parts. You should know that one of the things that can stop a child of God from carrying out this glorious mandate is SIN. Hence, when you allow sin to control your life, it will be difficult for you to tell others to give their lives to Christ. So, what is that thing that can stop you from carrying out this mandate? Is it sin? Please come out of that sin and allow the Holy Spirit to come in and take full control of your life so that the will of God will come to pass in your life. God loves you; and He really wants you to enjoy eternal life with Him in heaven. Be blessed!
