โThe Christian who daily listens to the Word of God is daily being formed in the likeness of Christ.โ
๐๐ฒ๐๐ผ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป
Dearly beloved in Christ,
Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
The opening Psalm sets before us a beautiful picture of the blessed life. The blessed person is not simply one who knows about God, but one whose delight is in the law of the Lord and who meditates upon it day and night.
As Christians, we are called to be a people of the Word of God. The Holy Scriptures are not merely a book to be opened on Sundays or during times of difficulty. They are God's gracious gift to His Church, through which we hear His voice, encounter His truth, and are continually drawn closer to our Lord Jesus Christ.
The ๐๐ป๐ด๐น๐ถ๐ฐ๐ฎ๐ป ๐๐ฟ๐ฎ๐ฑ๐ถ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป has always placed Holy Scripture at the heart of our common life. We hear the Scriptures proclaimed when we gather for worship. We respond to them in prayer. We confess our sins in the light of God's Word. We receive the Sacraments in faith, and we are sent into the world to live as faithful disciples of Christ.
Yet, beloved, our hearing of the Word must not end when the service ends.

There is great blessing in developing the holy habit of spending time each day with the Scriptures. Even when we are busy, even when our circumstances are difficult, we can find a few moments to sit quietly before the Lord, read His Word and allow it to speak to our hearts.
Do not be discouraged if you cannot read many chapters at once. Sometimes one verse, prayerfully received and faithfully lived, can transform the whole course of a day.

The purpose of Christian meditation is not merely to increase our knowledge of the Bible. It is to allow the Word of God to shape our character and conform our lives to Christ.
The Psalmist says that the person who delights in God's law is โlike a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season.โ Such a person has deep roots.
My dear brothers and sisters, the Church needs Christians with deep spiritual roots.
Our Diocese needs men and women whose faith is not easily shaken by every difficulty, every false teaching, every disappointment or every changing circumstance. ๐พ๐ ๐๐๐๐

Therefore, I encourage every household in the Diocese of Katakwa to recover the practice of daily Bible reading and family prayer.

Let parents read Scripture with their children. Let husbands and wives pray together. Let young people discover that the Bible speaks meaningfully to their hopes, struggles and questions. Let our Small Christian Communities, Mothers' Union, K**A, youth fellowships, Sunday schools and other ministries be nourished by the Word of God.

As St John reminds us, Our reading of Scripture must therefore lead us to love Jesus Christ more deeply, to follow Him more faithfully, and to serve His people more willingly.
Beloved Christians of the Diocese of Katakwa, make time for the Word every day.
Before the world speaks to you, allow God to speak to you.
Before you make your plans, listen to His wisdom.
Before you respond to life's challenges, allow His Word to shape your response.
And when you are weary, remember His promises.
May the Bible never become a closed book in our homes. May it be open on our tables, treasured in our hearts, proclaimed in our churches and demonstrated in Benediction
As your Bishop, I pray that we may become a diocese deeply rooted in Scripture, prayer, the Sacraments and the apostolic faith, so that our lives may bear abundant fruit for the glory of God and the building up of His Church.

Almighty and everlasting God,
You have caused all Holy Scriptures to be written for our learning and instruction. Grant us so to hear them, read, mark, learn and inwardly digest them, that by patience and the comfort of Your holy Word we may embrace and ever hold fast the blessed hope of everlasting life, which You have given us in our Saviour Jesus Christ.
Give us, we pray, a deeper hunger for Your Word and a greater desire to know Your Son.
Bless the Christians of the Diocese of Katakwa. Strengthen our families, guide our young people, encourage our clergy and lay leaders, and renew our congregations in faith and love.
Help us not only to hear Your Word but to obey it; not only to profess our faith but to live it; and not only to gather for worship but to become faithful witnesses of Christ wherever You have placed us.
Through Jesus Christ our Lord.

๐๐ฒ๐ป๐ฒ๐ฑ๐ถ๐ฐ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป
May the God of peace sanctify you wholly; and may your whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
May the Word of Christ dwell richly in you.
May the Holy Spirit guide you into all truth.
May Christ strengthen you in faith, establish you in hope, and make you abound in love.
And the blessing of God Almighty, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, be among you and remain with you always.
