The Lord the Shepherd of His People

A Psalm of David.

23 The Lord is my shepherd;
I shall not want.
2 He makes me to lie down in green pastures;
He leads me beside the still waters.
3 He restores my soul;
He leads me in the paths of righteousness
For His name’s sake.

4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil;
For You are with me;
Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.

5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies;
You anoint my head with oil;
My cup runs over.
6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
All the days of my life;
And I will dwell in the house of the Lord
Forever.

Praise God. Only God is the judge.

Mathew 7:1-5

Do not judge, or you too will be judged.

2 For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.

3 “Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye?

4 How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when all the time there is a plank in your own eye?

5 You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.

God still asks…
Where are you?

He found Adam in the bush!
He found Samuel in bed!
He found Jonah in a whale!

Where Did God find you?

Samuel was found asleep
Gideon was found hiding
Paul was met in a killing plot
Joseph was found divorcing
Peter was found washing nets
David was found herding sheep
Saul was found seeking donkeys
Jonah was rescued from a whale
Abraham was found in idolatry
Eve was found blushing
Isaiah was found in a palace
Nathaniel was found under a tree
Mathew was found collecting taxes
Zacchaeus was found up a tree
Bartimaeus was found begging
Magdalene Was found possessed
John was found fishing
Moses was found staring
Elisha was found ploughing
Joseph was found dreaming

Where did God find you?

Persistence pays

Jacob refused to let go
He held on the wrestler
He wrestled all the night
Came away with blessing!

He refused to let go Rachel
He held on to unfailing love
He worked hard to win her
Came away with a cute bride!

The widow justice sought
A corrupt system she fought
A corrupt judge she tussled
Finally her quest she caught

Hannah sought a child
Peninah drove her wild
On her knees she fought
Bundle of joy she got!

With rod Moses pressed
Free the slaves for God
Pharaoh’s grip tightened
Moses pushed he pressed

The king’s heart hardened
While Moses word blazed
Deaths of firstborn reigned
At last the king surrendered

The house of Saul fought
The house of David fought
Saul’s might spiraled down
David’s persistence won

David’s mighty men impressed
They fought like sharks immersed
They roared and waxed absorbed
Hand and spear glued engrossed

Ai threatened the procession
Moses engaged intercession
They won they lost aggression
Some help brought intervention

Joshua raised the hand of Moses
Caleb hoisted the hand of Moses
War reigned and spears clashed
With Persistence Ai lay crushed!

At Gethsemane Jesus pleaded
Not once not twice he prayed
He groaned and called and cried
Persistence paid price of blood
