SUMMARY: 1St Kings 21:1-end. Ahab had two residences one in Jezreel and official one in samaria. Naboth refused to dispose the land because he knew its the Lord’s .He could not sell the birthright of the family. Naboth and his sons were stoned in the city. Eliminating whole family so that there would be no heir. Ahab and Jezebel land grabbers and murderers. Ahab reacted to this refusal like a spoilt child, he went home looking sad and angry refusing to eat until his wife noticed the behaviour. Jezebel ploted and took deceitful and violent action. She sent letters against and about Naboth and used Ahab’s official seal and name . Ahab and his wife were partners in crime of a poor peasant yet they were swiming in wealth.Ahab and Jezebel had left lasting damage in Israel. They did not listen to Elijah’s announcements of God’s Judgement. Ahab and Jezebel died shameful deaths their blood licked by dogs. Ahab was remorseful and instead disaster was postponed to his sons. We see the wickedness of the wicked using and hiding in the law of Israel of stoning Naboth to commit murder.

Prayer: Heavenly Father save our nations from leaders who are land grabbers, murders and perverters of Justice. Lord save us from Leaders who shed innocent blood .Amen.

SUMMARY: 1St Kings20:1-end. This is about Ahab war with Syria, he even says it is foolish to boast about winning before the fight has begun. Ahab’s enemies made him desperate and coward.The proud Syrians were defeated but despised Israelites worn. Ahab though evil is successful because he accepted advice from prophet of God called Micaiah. Ahab spares his enemies thus result of his death. Judah wavered between the godly and ungodly. There was a man killed by lion because of failure to obey God’s instruction through a prophet. The lord worn the battle with a few like time of Gideon with only 300 soldiers.

Prayer: Oh Lord Our God, save us from getting the Glory in times of success and victory , You alone receive honor and Glory. Amen.

SUMMARY: 1St Kings 19:1-end. Prophet Elijah was afraid and run for his life. Ahab is unable to restrain his wife from threatening the servant of God. He is sustained by God forty days and nights as was moses in wilderness and Jesus too. Elijah was asked by God what he was doing and he bitterly complained that his labours were fruitlessness. Elijah was now exhausted and in depression. The lord sent an angel to provide for his physical needs and was strengthened by a good meal and sound sleep. Elisha was a large scale farmer before his call this is because verse 19 says he owned” twelve yoke of oxen”. He had employed other labourers. Elisha is called and is seeking permission from Elijah to say good by to his family; almost similar in Luke 9:57-62, they had excuses. Elijah annointed other commissioners namely; Hazel, Jehu and Elisha.

Prayer: Heavenly Father thanks for your still small voice in our lives when we are at the verge of giving up. Amen.

SUMMARY: 1St Kings 18:1-end. This is the narrative of Elijah’s battle on Mt. Carmel. Elijah and the prophets of Baal. Elijah ran the fifteen to twenty five miles on foot in triumph and overtook Ahab with his chariots. Obadiah was a officer working in the court of Ahab. He did hide 100 prophets of the lord in a cave to save them from the murder by king Ahab. Ahab was known by prophet as the troubler of Israel. The prophets of Baal were cutting themselves so that their gods baal could hear but all these was in vain. Jehovah God is Almighty.

Prayer: Heavenly Father fasten our opportunities and destinies. Amen.

SUMMARY: 1St Kings 17:1-end. The name Elijah means Yahweh is God. Elijah is opposed by Ahab and his wife Jezebel who were Baal worshippers. Elijah prayed for drought and God answered the prayers. This proved that Baal the god of rains and fertility was impotent before Yahweh. When Elijah supplies were dry God sent him to Zarephath in Phoenicia. God used ravens and a widow to help Elijah.The lord provided and sustained Elijah in the wilderness. The woman takes care of God’s servant before he takes care of herself. The widow’s generosity to the servant of God was rewarded. Elijah made himself ritually unclean by coming into contact with the dead son body. Its through this act of sacrifice that he brings the boy back to life. This shows that Yahweh was the only True God and Elijah was His prophet.

Prayer: Oh Lord our God, command all corners of the earth to give us our daily needs. Amen.

SUMMARY: 1St Kings 16:1-end. The Chapter is about Omri rule established and Ahab rule also established. Ahab married Jezebel who influenced him to worshipping idols, he built temples of Baal gods. He killed Naboth. He was a land grabber. He allowed his wife to make decisions on management and leadership for him.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, save us we beseech you from Idolatry. Amen.
