Dominion Family Church KENYA YOUR SPIRITUAL HOME OF CHOICE! We welcome you to walk with us in this journey of faith to reach out to the nations. www.dfckministries.org

OUR DOCTRINAL POSITION
1. We believe that the Bible is the inspired, infallible, eternal Word of God. Contains 66 books, 39 books Old Testament and 27 books New Testament
2. We believe in one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
3. We believe the Bible's Genesis account of creation.
4. We believe in the Deity of Jesus as the Christ, His virgin birth, His sinless l

ife, His miracles, His vicarious and atoning death on the cross, as our perfect sacrifice, through His shed blood. This is commemorated by partaking of the lords table as he commanded his first disciples.
5. We believe in His bodily resurrection, His ascension to the right hand of the Father as our Lord and intercessor and His personal return in power and glory, to judge the living and the dead.
6. We believe that all have sinned and fallen short of the Glory of God and that all people are in need of Salvation, by grace, through faith in the completed work of our Lord and Savior Jesus, our Christ, who the Messiah is prophesied of in the Old Testament scriptures.
7. We believe that salvation is the free gift of God by Grace, through Faith and not accomplished through good works but freely given to each individual who has, by Grace through Faith, received the Lord Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior.
8. We believe that all that are saved should desire a close personal relationship with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, that we should serve Him as sanctified servants in obedience to His Great Commission.
9. We believe in the very present ministry of the Holy Spirit, whose indwelling empowers Christians to live a godly life. The Holy Spirit gives the Believer the power to Witness for Christ, The victory over the Flesh and the ability to speak In new tongues for personal edification.
10. We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; those who are saved, unto a resurrection of eternal life, in a spiritual body, to a literal heaven and those who are lost unto a resurrection of damnation, in a literal hell.
11. We believe in the spiritual unity of believers, who comprise the body of our Lord Jesus Christ, who is the head of HIS body, the one true, called out assembly, recognized as the Ecclesia or Church. A person becomes a member of the body of Christ by confessing the lordship of Jesus and believes that God raised him from the Dead. This is climaxed in water Baptism through immersion into much water.
12. We believe that through the free gift of faith, God, by His Grace, draws those who will believe the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ, unto repentance and faith.
13. We believe that God’s Love, Grace, and Mercy endure forever.

BIBLE STUDY SESSION
MONDAY 5TH JANUARY 2026

“DO NOT WITHHOLD GOOD:
WHEN DELAYED HELP BECOMES HARM”
Text: Proverbs 3:27
“Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in your power to act.”

1. INTRODUCTION: Opening thought:
Many people do not perish because help was unavailable—but because help was delayed, withheld, or rationalized away.

This study confronts a dangerous mindset:
“If I help him now, he will get used to it.”
The Bible calls us to wisdom, yes—but it strongly condemns withholding life-saving good under the excuse of character-building.

2. KEY TRUTH FROM PROVERBS 3:27
What the verse establishes:
Good is an obligation, not an option
Ability creates responsibility
Delay can equal denial
The verse does not say: “Do not withhold good unless you are teaching a lesson.”
It says: If it is in your power, act.

3. THE DANGER OF DELAYED HELP

Delayed help can kill what could have survived
Ecclesiastes 9:11 “…time and chance happen to them all.”
Some situations are time-sensitive
Hunger, debt, sickness, discouragement, crisis—delay worsens damage
Wisdom that ignores timing becomes cruelty
Point to Note
What you call “training” may be someone else’s last window to survive.

B. The Good Samaritan: Help delayed is help denied
Luke 10:33–35
The priest and Levite likely had reasons:
“He may recover”
“Someone else will help”
“This will teach him resilience”
The Samaritan acted immediately.
Lesson:
God honored the one who responded, not the ones who reasoned.

4. WITHHOLDING GOOD UNDER SPIRITUAL EXCUSES
“If I give him, he will get used to it”
This thinking is explicitly confronted in Scripture.
James 2:15–16 “If a brother or sister is without clothes and daily food and one of you says, ‘Go in peace, be warmed and filled,’ without giving them what they need for the body—what good is it?”
Key Insight:
James does not condemn long-term wisdom—
He condemns short-term neglect.
A starving man does not need a lesson—he needs food first.

When withholding becomes sin
James 4:17 “If anyone knows the good they ought to do and doesn’t do it, it is sin for them.”
This verse shifts sin from action only to inaction.
Point to Note
Knowing + Ability + Opportunity + Delay = Sin

5. BROTHER TO BROTHER RESPONSIBILITY
Galatians 6:2 “Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.”
Notice:
It does not say evaluate first
It does not say delay until they improve
It says carry
Correction:
Burden-bearing is not enabling—it is obedience.

6. BALANCING HELP AND WISDOM
The Bible does teach responsibility, but in the right order.
Biblical order:
Preserve life
Restore strength
Then teach responsibility
Proverbs 24:11 “Rescue those being led away to death; hold back those staggering toward slaughter.”
You rescue first, instruct later.

Practical balance:
Do not train a drowning man by withholding a rope
Do not teach patience to someone bleeding
Help immediately
Walk with them afterward
Teach sustainability once survival is secured

7. MODERN-DAY EXAMPLES (Discussion Section)
When does “teaching responsibility” become excuse-making?
Have you ever delayed help and later realized the cost?
How can we help without abandoning wisdom?
How can you live in peace when you the help you delayed for fear of enabling or making one lazy is what destroyed their lives.?

8. Eternity Dimension
Matthew 25:42–45 “I was hungry and you gave Me no food… Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for Me.”
Jesus takes withheld help personally.

9. CLOSING SUMMARY
Delayed help can destroy lives
Wisdom without compassion becomes cruelty
God judges not only evil done—but good withheld
Help first, train after If it is in your power—act
Let's All pray this prayer from our hearts

“Lord, deliver us from cold wisdom and teach us timely obedience.

Give us discerning hearts that know when to help immediately and how to guide afterward.

May we never withhold life-saving good in the name of discipline. Amen.”
