TRIBUTE TO THE LATE REV. CANON PROF. JAMES KOMBO
It is with deep sorrow and heartfelt remembrance that we, the Church of Christ in Africa (CCA–Johera), mourn the passing of Rev. Canon Prof. James Kombo.
Prof. Kombo was not only a distinguished scholar and former Vice Chancellor of both St. Paul’s University and Daystar University, but also a devoted servant of God whose roots were firmly grounded in the Church of Christ in Africa by birth. His life reflected humility, wisdom, and a steadfast commitment to the growth of the Church and the transformation of society through education and faith.
He dedicated his life to nurturing minds, shaping leaders, and strengthening Christian values in institutions of higher learning. His voice carried wisdom, his leadership inspired many, and his legacy will continue to guide generations to come.
As a church, we take pride in his journey of faith and service, knowing that he remained connected to the foundation that nurtured him spiritually. His contribution to theology, education, and the body of Christ remains immeasurable.
On behalf of His Grace Dr. Patrick Ligawa Nyagudi, the clergy, and the entire CCA–Johera fraternity, we extend our deepest condolences to his family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched.
May the Lord grant his soul eternal rest, and may his legacy continue to shine as a beacon of faith, knowledge, and service.
“Well done, good and faithful servant.”
