“For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them…” — 1 Thessalonians 5:3 (KJV)
Beloved, this verse is a warning from God. The world may look calm. People may be laughing, eating, celebrating, and saying, “Everything is fine.” But peace without Christ is not true peace. Security without God is only temporary. Man can promise peace, leaders can speak peace, and the world can feel safe—but if hearts are far from the Lord, that peace is false.
The Bible says destruction comes suddenly—like a thief in the night. No one expects it. No one is prepared except those who are watching and walking with Jesus.
This is why we must not sleep spiritually. We must repent while there is time. We must stay awake in prayer, stay faithful in God’s Word, and keep our lamps burning.
The world says, “Relax.”
But the Spirit says, “Be ready.”
The world says, “Peace and safety.”
But Jesus says, “Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.” (Matthew 24:42 KJV)
Church, our refuge is not in the peace of this world—our refuge is in Christ alone. Stand firm. Be sober. Be watchful. For the Lord is coming, and blessed are those found ready.
“Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.” — Isaiah 26:3 KJV
