Celebrating a journey of transformation
Members of Deliverance Church Kibos Road have been urged to turn up in their large numbers for the anniversary celebrations beginning on wednesday 3rd and running upto Sunday 7th of June.This call was made by the Senior Pastor Bishop Elisha Odhoch today during the Sunday church service.Bishop Odhoch told the congregation that the anniversary celebrations is not just a casual ordinary merrymaking event but a celebration of a journey of transformation." The presence of the church in this area for the last three decades has positively impacted on the area both physically and spiritually,"he said."Physically,you see this place where storey buildings are now coming up was essentially a bush.The place was characterised by high rate of insecurity.But this changed once the church was established"Bishop Odhoch reminded members.
Spiritually, the Bishop observed that many lives have been transformed,courtesy of the church."Many souls have been saved from this place and they have continued with their faithful walk with Christ"emphasised Bishop Odhoch.
Bishop Odhoch therefore reminded members that the anniversary celebrations is a moment to express gratitude for God's faithfulness."Come and see what the Lord has done,"he said."We are looking back to celebrate the good things that God has done to us over the past 30 years.Marriages have taken place here and have flourished.Children from Sunday school are now leaders.Indeed we are witnesses to the many prayers that God has answered from this place",Bishop Elisha emphasised.
He further reminded the congregation that a number of people have been invited for the celebrations and they have confirmed attendance."Bishop Paul Oselu will be here to deliver the word of God.Bishop Boniface Runji,a national leader of Happy Church International and a long time friend of mine since 1997 will also grace the occasion.Then the climax will be the attendance and proclamation of the word of the Lord by The Secretary of Deliverance Church international Bishop JB Masinde",Bishop Odhoch announced ."These friends will be coming here to join us in celebrating the doings of the Lord ",he added.He therefore urged members to turn up and not to leave him alone with the guests .
In concluding his exhortation to the congregation,Bishop Odhoch reminded members that there is hope in this place .He told them that those who come to this place are being trained for greater things in the community.He said,"It is a time to inspire growth.We have also come to forster family"he concluded even as he celebrated all who have been faithful in this walk."I can give many examples of people whom we have seen growing in the house.Gordon Nyamita here was a young man when he joined the church.The same applies to Beatrice Ojuok who came from across over there as a young naive girl but who has now grown and matured in the house.Sharon here came and when James saw her,he declared,huyu simuachi.And they have lived as husband and wife happily",concluded Bishop Odhoch to the amusement of the congregation.
Bishop Odhoch concluded his exhortation by saying, "By the grace of God,we can look back and say thank you"
