*The Greatest Deception*

The Bible declares that Satan has deceived the whole world (Revelation 12:9).

God—the Creator of heaven and earth and all that is in them—established time clearly: a day begins at sunset and ends at sunset (Genesis 1:5; Leviticus 23:32).

Yet the deceiver has led the whole world to believe that a day begins at midnight*—a tradition rooted in human systems, not in God’s Word.
So the question remains:

Whom do you follow?—the doctrine of men, or the command of God?
“Choose this day whom you will serve.” (Joshua 24:15)

THE POSITION OF A MESSIANIC YOUTH IN THE WORLD.

In the world but not of the world.

John 17:14 "I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because THEY ARE NOT OF THE WORLD, EVEN AS I AM NOT OF THE WORLD."

John 17:15 "I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil."

We are representing unseen God (godliness) in this world full of wickedness reigning of the Devil. Therefore, we are supposed to tell the world loudly about the one who called us.

2 Timothy 1:9 "Who hath saved us, and CALLED [US] WITH AN HOLY CALLING, not according to our works, but ACCORDING TO HIS OWN PURPOSE AND GRACE, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,"

That's our obligation brethren - To proclaim the wonderful acts of God who called us out of darkness into His own marvelous light.

1 Peter 2:9 "But ye [are] a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a PECULIAR PEOPLE; that ye should SHEW FORTH THE PRAISES OF HIM WHO HATH CALLED YOU out of darkness into his marvellous light:"

And as peculiar people, with the obligation to proclaim the wonderful acts of God to the world, how can we therefore behave to ensure we do exactly that?

MAIN THINGS WHICH A MESSIANIC YOUTH CAN EASILY FORGET THEIR POSITION

1. NON-GOSPEL CENTERED SPEECH.

This is where most us can easily forget our main role in the world. The conversation of a Messianic youth should be edifying at all times.

Ephesians 4:29 "Let no corrupt communication proceed OUT OF YOUR MOUTH, but THAT WHICH IS GOOD TO THE USE OF EDIFYING, that it may minister grace unto the hearers."

The social media language - (Facebook, WhatsApp, to mention a few,) can drag one back and cause many to forget that they're a peculiar nation.

Imagine sharing jokes, memes and at times contents bearing caption with secular music😡☹

MEMES: Our fellow youths are deep into this! if you view their statuses from no. 1 to no.10+... Just jokes and laughter!

St. VALENTINE'S DAY: WHERE DID IT COME FROM?

It is time we questioned why parents encourage children to celebrate St. Valentine’s Day when it is never so much as mentioned in the Bible.

Did you know that centuries before Yahushua’s birth, the pagan Romans exchanged valentines at this same season? On February 14, they celebrated an idolatrous festival in honor of their “valentine” Lupercus, the “hunter of wolves”? The Romans called the festival the “Lupercalia.”

Lupercalia rituals took place in a few places: Lupercal cave, on Palatine Hill and within the Roman open-air, public meeting place called the Comitium. The festival began at Lupercal cave with the sacrifice of one or more male goats—a representation of sexuality—and a dog.

The sacrifices were performed by Luperci, a group of Roman priests. Afterwards, the foreheads of two naked Luperci were smeared with the animals’ blood using the bloody, sacrificial knife. The blood was then removed with a piece of milk-soaked wool as the Luperci laughed.

In Ancient Rome, feasting began after the ritual sacrifice. When the feast of Lupercal was over, the Luperci cut strips, also called thongs or februa, of goat hide from the newly sacrificed goats.

They then ran naked—or nearly naked—around Palantine, whipping any woman within striking distance with the thongs.

The custom of exchanging valentines and all the other traditions in honor of Lupercus—the deified hero-hunter of Rome - “have been handed down from the Roman festival of the Lupercalia, celebrated in the month of February when names of young women were put into a box and drawn out by men as chance directed,” admits the Encyclopedia Americana, art. “St. Valentine’s Day.”

When Constantine made Christianity the official religion of the Roman Empire, there was some talk in church circles of discarding this pagan free-for-all, but the Roman citizens wouldn’t hear of it! So they agreed that the holiday would continue as it was.

But how did this pagan festival acqu

STEWARDSHIP
As Yahshua's disciples, we are called to labor in His service, follow in his footsteps and forsake the
world. But he does not ask us to endure hardship to no end. There is a glorious prize to be won
through faithful stewardship, and whatever suffering we endure in this life will be more than
compensated in the next.

14: 25-27, 33; 12: 33
3. Did they accept the conditions of Yahshua? Luke 5: 11, 27, 28; Matthew 4: 18-22
4. Did they all accept unanimously? John 6: 60, 66
5. What question did Peter ask Messiah? Matthew 19: 27
6. What was Yahshua's response? Matthew 19: 28-30
7. If we suffer with Him, shall we also reign with Him? 2 Timothy 2: 12

CHILDREN'S LESSON (FOR MT ZION CHURCH OF GOD)
LESSON FOR 21ST SEPTEMBER 2024
JOB PATIENTLY TRUSTS GOD
Objective:By the end of the lesson the learners should be able to:-
1.Describe episodes of Job and his four friends.
2.Describe how God restored him.
3.Acknowledge that problems are there for just but a time.
4.Desire to overcome pain and suffering through trusting in God no matter what.
Scripture Reading: Job 3, Job 42.
Memory Verse: James 5:11; “we consider blessed those who have persevered. You
have heard of Job’s perseverance and have seen what the Lord finally brought about.
The Lord is full of compassion and mercy.”
Human Experience: Teacher to ask children if there was a time in their lives they
have ever been faced by a major sorrow, pain or crisis. If so, did they trust in God
during that time? ( The teacher can also tell of his experience or invite a resource
person).
Biblical Experience:
Job suffered physical pain, and loss of property and family. He grieved, having lost
ten children at once. His wife told him to curse God and die. When his friends came
to encourage him, they believed that Jobs problems were due to his sin. They insist
ed that Job repents of his sins. God was not happy with their misleading advise on
Job and ordered them to offer a sacrifice of repentance. Job acknowledged God’s
lordship over all his possessions. In plenty and in poverty, he praised the name of
God. Satan lost the challenge because Job was not worshiping God for selfish rea
sons.
God restored Job and blessed him even more abundantly. He gave him 14,000
sheep, 6,000 camels, 1,000 oxen and 1,000 donkeys. He also gave him seven sons
and three daughters. He also blessed him with a long life and lived to see four gener
ationsofhischildren.
Application:
At some point in life, we must face difficulties and temptations, and our own faith
will be challenged. We can trust God to sustain us in our trials and suffering for He
is faithful. Yahshua Messiah went through suffering and he overcame. Praise be to
God
