Before you throw a stone at someone’s mistakes, stop for a moment and examine your own heart.
It is easy to judge people when we only see their failures, their weaknesses, and the sins they cannot hide. But many times, we forget the battles we ourselves have fought in secret. We forget how many times God forgave us when we also deserved condemnation.

In John 8:7, when the people were ready to stone the woman caught in sin, Jesus said,
“He who is without sin among you, let him throw a stone at her first.”
One by one, they dropped their stones and walked away. Why? Because no one is perfect before God.

Sometimes the sharpest stones are not the ones in our hands, but the words that come out of our mouths — criticism, gossip, hatred, pride, and unforgiveness. Those stones can break hearts, destroy faith, and wound souls deeply.

God is not calling us to condemn people. He is calling us to love, forgive, restore, and pray for one another. The same mercy you received from God should also flow toward others.

Do not let your heart become hard like stone. Let it be softened by grace. Because one day, we will all stand before God — not as judges of others, but as people who also needed mercy.

Before judging someone’s story, remember: You may know their sin, but you do not know their pain. You may see their fall, but you do not know their prayers. And while people throw stones, Jesus still offers forgiveness.

Choose compassion over condemnation. Choose grace over pride. Choose love, because that is what Christ first chose for us.
