ARRESTED 100 TIMES WITHIN A YEAR
ALEXANDER DOWIE opened several large rooming houses called "Healing Homes." Here, the sick who had come for healing could find shelter and rest between the services held at Zion Tabernacle. Once there, they were able to receive constant ministry from the Word until their faith mounted to the place of complete manifestation. But the newspapers, mainly the Chicago Dispatch, were merciless, calling the homes "Lunatic Asylums" and continued to print every lie imaginable.

Because of these healing homes, Dowie's enemies thought they had found a vulnerable spot. So early in 1895, they arrested him on the charge of "practicing medicine without a license." Obviously untrue, Dowie would have been the last person to allow medicine into his homes He hired a brilliant attorney, but he only kept Dowie advised of the legal matters. So Dowie chose to represent himself in court because no one else could
articulate his call as accurately as himself.
Dowie's superior intellect was not enough to overrule the evil jurisdiction of the court.
Despite his profound arguments, the court fined him. But they never dreamed he would take the case to a higher court, costing much more money than the fines they had issued.
When he did, the higher court denounced the evil of the lower court, and reversed the decision.
The city hoped Dowie would get discouraged if they continued to arrest and fine him.
So before the year was over, he had been arrested one hundred times. Although severely persecuted, he was never discouraged. Persecution brought out great resiliency in his
character. He actually thrived on his persecutor's affliction and interrogation.
Evil will always try to persecute the power of God. But Dowie was super-naturally secure and anchored in bis godly authority. The supernatural never bows to the natural.

🗣️ BREATH OF LIFE THE LIGHT OF GOD
It is very comfortable for me to know that I am one of God’s people–but whether I know it or not, if the Lord knows it, I am still safe. This is the foundation, “The Lord knoweth them that are his.” You may be sighing and groaning because of in**ed sin, and mourning over your darkness, yet the Lord sees “light” in your heart, for he has put it there, and all the cloudiness and gloom of your soul cannot conceal your light from his gracious eye. You may have sunk low in despondency, and even despair; but if your soul has any longing towards Christ, and if you are seeking to rest in his finished work, God sees the “light.” He not only sees it, but he also preserves it in you. “I, the Lord, do keep it.” This is a precious thought to those who, after anxious watching and guarding of themselves, feel their own powerlessness to do so. The light thus preserved by his grace, he will one day develop into the splendour of noonday, and the fulness of glory. The light within is the dawn of the eternal day🙏🔥🔥🔥

“Things of Good Report” “Where God So Wonderfully Blessed In A Revival Years Before, 1890, 1891.
“We were in St. Louis two weeks and held meetings twice a day, and we had a glorious reunion with the dear saints who had been saved and healed and blessed in our former meetings in St. Louis, many from the noted “Kerry Patch” meeting twenty-seven years ago. They all came together in love and fellowship, praising God for sparing my life and theirs to meet together once more to build up the temple of the Lord. The convicting, saving, and healing power of the Lord was poured out on the meeting.
Many received the baptism in the Holy Spirit, and sinners were slain by the mighty power of God. Many of the saints were led down in green pastures, having visions, and “things to come” (John 16:3) were revealed with great demonstrations and diverse gifts and operations of the Spirit. The crowds could not get into the hall; part of them had to stand on the outside, and part of the time they were held still and looked on in amazement. Brother F.F. Bosworth of Texas (Which later wrote the “Christ The Healer” book) was with us and assisted in the meeting, and many other ministers also. There was no discord to disturb at all. All felt at home and that heaven had come down and that the Lord of Hosts was present, “confirming [His] word with signs following” (Mark 16:20)
Many of my old friends from the other churches, who had been very much opposed to the “tongues movement,” as they came and heard the preaching, saw the many signs, heard the testimonies, saw everything was done in God’s order, according to the Word that was preached, and that there was no wildfire or fanaticism, contentions or rebuking, or bluffing one another, said that of a truth “Pentecost has come again,” and that God was pouring out His Spirit.”
