Whether we are young or older, the answer to keeping ourselves pure is the same: live according to God's word. Sounds so simple, so why is it so hard to do? Jesus summed up God's word in one word: Love! That's why it's so hard. All we need to do is love God, love one another, and love ourselves. The first of the commandments call us to love God. We are not to put anything or anyone above God. We are not to take God's name in vain by using it as a curse or an exclamation of anything other than praise. We are not to take God's role in condemning anyone or anything. It belongs only to God to decide if someone will be damned and sent to hell, not to us. We are to take time out of our week to give thanks and praise to God. The rest of the commandments speak about our responsibilities to others. As we learned from reading Scripture, our allegiance to authority only goes so far. We are not to follow immoral rules. When I think of the horrors of the holocaust, I can't believe how many people turned in their neighbors because of their religious beliefs! Hi**er, in his determination to kill the Jewish people, would have killed Jesus with less compunction than Pilate who at least considered him innocent. We are told not to kill the spirit of a person as well as not to kill or harm his body. We are told to keep ourselves out of harm's way; not to put ourselves in dangerous situations without a good reason, and not to use people for our own pleasure; to treat others with the same respect we want them to show us. We are not to lie or cheat or steal, but to be satisfied with the blessings we have been given. If we do these things, we will be pure in the eyes of the Lord.

The need of your soul can never be satisfied by getting what you want from the world.

The wickedness of wicked men will someday cease from the earth, but the meek shall inherit the earth. The Great Jehovah tests the heart and mind. He weighs our thoughts and sees the motives of our hearts. We cannot fool Him. If a wicked attitude be in us, he will know. And if our hearts be right before him, he will not overlook that fact either.

We aren't just called to love our brothers and sisters. Oh no. That's something anyone can do – even unbelievers. God has set the bar higher for us. He has called us to love our enemies, too. It's in that love that we express the love of God who loved us before we loved Him, when we were still His enemies.

God has gone to the end of the earth to make sure that you will always know that, no matter what, He has got you covered. He will keep you at rest, He will strengthen you, and He will see you through the tough times. In everything you do, every trial that you face, and in every challenge, that comes your way, you should know that you have no reason to fret or worry. God is with you.

God's mercy is never-ending; it can never be exhausted. In a world filled with temporary things and relationships, it is comforting to know that we have a God who is ever-faithful. His love never changes and it will never run out.

As you walk in your Christian life, you need to ensure that you remain rooted in Christ at all times. The enemy will try to railroad you and tamper with your faith. But as you can see, in this verse, God is able to keep you, through His Spirit, and remind you to focus on Christ at all times.

Harmony is being in sync with God about His plan of salvation, mission, His holy love, and how we need to treat each other.

To remove the curse of God for breaking his Law from us, Jesus took our guilt upon himself and suffered that curse in our place. God cannot demand "double payment" for sin, so that he cannot justly condemn those whose sins were paid for in full on the cross. That is why there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:1).
