*TRINITY SUNDAY SERMON
*THEME: KNOWING AND WORSHIPPING THE TRIUNE GOD
*SCRIPTURE: Isaiah 6:1–8, John 16:12–15*

INTRODUCTION
Trinity Sunday is a day set apart to reflect on one of the greatest mysteries and truths of the Christian faith: God is One, yet revealed in Three Persons; Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

The word Trinity means three-in-one. The word Trinity does not appear in the Bible. However, the concept is clearly taught.

The Bible is full of Scripture speaking of there being only one God (_Deuteronomy 6:4_) as well as the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit all being God. That’s where the confusion comes from.

Passages such as _Genesis 1:26_ — “Let us make mankind in our image.”; _Genesis 11:7_ — “Come, let us go down.” And _Isaiah 6:8_ — “Who will go for us?” attributes to Three members of Trinity.

THE THREE PERSONS OF TRINITY
1. *The FATHER:* The Source of Creation and Love
The Father is the Creator and Sustainer of all things.
He is "Our Father in heaven..." _Matthew 6:9_
The Father loves, provides, protects, guides, and disciplines His children.

2. *THE SON:* The Revelation of God's Grace
Jesus Christ is God the Son.

He came into the world to reveal the Father and redeem humanity from sin.

On the cross Jesus bore our sins, and through His resurrection He opened the way to eternal life.

3. *THE HOLY SPIRIT:* The Presence and Power of God
The Holy Spirit is not merely a force or influence. He is God.

The Holy Spirit Convicts us of sin, Guides us into truth, Empowers Christian witness.
Without the Holy Spirit, Christianity becomes merely a religion of rules but with the Holy Spirit, Christianity becomes a living relationship with God.

*THE TRINITY WORKING TOGETHER*
_Matthew 3:16–17_. At Jesus' baptism we see the Trinity clearly revealed. Here, The Son is baptized, The Spirit descends and The Father speaks.
_Matthew 28:19_. “Baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.”

*UNDERSTANDING TRINITY*
Because the Trinity is ultimately a mystery that goes beyond human comprehension, analogies can help clarify the concept, though no analogy is perfect.

- *The Sun:* Imagine the sun as the Father (the source of light), the light rays as the Son (how we see and experience the sun), and the heat as the Holy Spirit (the power we feel). They are all one sun, but have different expressions.

- *The Triangle:* A triangle has three distinct corners, but it is still one single triangle.

- *Egg* – A single egg is made up of the yolk, the whites, and the shell.

To think we will ever fully understand the Trinity is to make the mistake of thinking God is fully understandable. God is infinite. He is beyond us (_Job 11:7-8, Isaiah 55:9_).
"If God was small enough for my brain to fully understand, He wouldn’t be big enough to save me!”
The doctrine of the Trinity is not a mathematical formula to be solved but a divine mystery to be worshipped. Christians do not worship three Gods; neither do we worship one God who merely appears in three different forms.
Rather, we worship _One God eternally existing in three distinct Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit._

*CONCLUSION*
As we celebrate *Trinity Sunday,* we are reminded that our God is greater than our understanding, yet He has graciously revealed Himself to us as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

The Father created us and loves us with an everlasting love. The Son redeemed us through His death and resurrection. The Holy Spirit lives within us, guiding, comforting, and empowering us for holy living and faithful witness.

The Triune God still calls His people to worship Him, serve Him, and carry His message to the world. Therefore, let us _trust the Father's care, embrace the Son's salvation, and walk daily in the power of the Holy Spirit._

PENTECOST SUNDAY 24TH MAY 2026
SCRIPTURES: Acts 2:1–11, John 20:19–23

Pentecost reminds us of the moment the Holy Spirit came upon the disciples, empowering them to go out and minister.
This marked the beginning of the Church...a church not limited to a few, but open to all, including the Gentiles.
Even today, the Holy Spirit is still at work.
i) Guiding us into living lives that align with God’s will
ii) Helping us understand His Word deeply.
iii) Teaching us how to pray according to God’s purpose.
iv) Convicting us, not just to hear the Word, but to live it.

The message also ties into this month’s theme: “Evil Backfires,” drawn from Esther 6.
We are reminded that even when people plan harm against us, God is not absent.
While enemies may be working, God is working even harder, lifting, restoring, and blessing us in ways we may not expect.

Lessons we learn

1. Do Not Fear
We should be driven by faith, not fear. Fear influences many of our daily decisions, in our homes, workplaces, and even church
Romans 8:31 reminds us: If God is for us, who can be against us? Therefore we should stand for what is right, even if you stand alone as it is better to stand alone in God than to stand with a multitude of people who are for evil.

2. Do Good Always
You should do good even when no one is watching. Mordecai did good by reviling the plans the enemies had against the king without expecting a reward. We should allow the seed of goodness to grow until its ready for harvest. You should continue doing good, even when it’s inconvenient for you and trust that God will reward you in due time.

3. You Don’t Have to Fight for Yourself.
In the story of Esther, a decree had been made to destroy the Jews, Esther called for fasting and prayer, therefore in the same way, we should take our battles to God and trust Him to fight for us.

4. All Things Work for Good
Challenges, pain, and temptations serve a purpose in our lives.God allows situations knowing we can handle them and everything works for the good of those who love God.In the end, we will testify of His faithfulness.

Conclusion
The Holy Spirit empowers us to live victoriously.
Even when faced with opposition, we can trust that God is working behind the scenes.
Stay rooted in faith, continue doing good, surrender your battles to God, and trust that everything will ultimately work out for your good and His glory.

*7TH SUNDAY OF EASTER (SUNDAY AFTER ASCENSION) 17.MAY.2026*
*PREACHER: EV.CAPT. MARTIN KIHANYA*
*READINGS: Psalms 104:26–35 | Esther 6 | Ephesians 1:15–23*

*A GOOD DEED WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN*

Today's message reminds us that every opportunity we get in life, is a chance to do good.
In Esther chapter 6, we see what we do for others matters and God never overlooks it. Mordecai exposed the officials who had planned to kill the king. The king later rewarded him.

We are called to treat people with kindness and to be mindful of how we respond to others, especially in difficult moments.

The word of God cautions us through these key lessons:

*1.The danger of rejoicing when others are suffering*
We should never wish evil upon others or find joy in their struggles. Instead, we are called to love, to show compassion, and to give our burdens to God, trusting Him to fight for us.

*2.We should not fight for ourselves, the battle belongs to the Lord*
There are moments when we feel the need to defend ourselves, but God reminds us to trust Him.
His timing is perfect. Even when it takes time, He will come through. Our role is to be patient and wait upon Him.

*3.Pride weakens a Christian’s sensitivity*
Pride can blind us and make us misinterpret situations, just as it did with Haman, his pride did not allow him to discern what was happening when the king was questioning him. When we become self-centered, we lose spiritual awareness.
Humility helps us stay aligned with God’s purpose and understand our place in His plan.

*4.Whatever we sow, we will reap*
Haman planned evil for Mordecai, but it returned to him.
This reminds us to always desire and pray for good for others.
We should not be happy when others are suffering, but instead seek to uplift and bless them.

*Conclusion*
In all this, we are encouraged by one powerful truth: God is faithful.
He never forgets the good we do.
The journey may not always be easy, it may have ups and downs, but every good deed matters before God.
Let us use our gifts and opportunities to do good and allow God to use us as vessels of His love.
In the end, nothing done in faith and kindness is ever wasted.
