The Acts 8:21 "You have neither part nor portion in this matter, for your heart is not right in the sight of God. Repent therefore of this your wickedness, and pray God if perhaps the thought of your heart may be forgiven you."

Following Stephen's divine election to serve, some men rise against him and ultimately cause his stoning to death. After this, great persecution arises against the church such that they are scattered throughout the regions of Judea.

This however works for the greater good as they went preaching the gospel. Phillip, goes to Samaria and preaches the gospel and many men come to the Kingdom. He calls down Peter and John who come and pray for men to be filled with The Holy Spirit.

A certain man named Simon who had been recently converted saw the might hand of God as men received The Holy Spirit through the laying on of hands. He offered money to the apostles to receive that ability. Peter sternly warns him as is the text above.

The error in this man's desire was the posture of his heart. He wanted the right thing but for the wrong reason. He lusted for what he should have desired. His intention was to defraud his way into what is received by faith.

So many times we have made the same mistake. We covet what we should desire and believe God for. You cannot subvert God's divine process even when you are seeking to fulfill His will.In this Kingdom, The Process is as important as the product. Do not be fooled, The end does not justify the means.

Do God's will in accordance to God's way.

Blessed day ahead

The Acts 5:41-42 "So they departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for His name. And daily in the temple, and in every house, they did not cease teaching and preaching Jesus as the Christ."

Chapter 5 of Acts begins to narrate the early life of the Apostles following the outpouring. At this time, strife has begun to arise both within and without. Ananias and Saphira have made a secret plot to deceive the apostles and keep back the land sale proceeds. Unfortunately, they die a painful death for lying to The Holy Spirit.

On the outside, the apostles are doing such a mighty work that through their hands, many signs and wonder are done among the people. This attracts alot of envy and spite from the high priests. The high priests have them put to prison but God sends His angels who open the prison doors.

Again the high priests have them brought before them. The apostles stand for their cause with boldness and courage. After being beaten they are released back to the people with a warning not to continue preaching.

However, despite all this, the apostles went away rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for His name. They found joy in their tribulations. They praised God for their persecution. Their heart were not on what their bodies underwent but that they were found worth to endure that pain for the Kingdom.

What is your heart posture regarding suffering? Instead of asking God why me, you should be asking why not me

The Acts 4:16 saying, “What shall we do to these men? For, indeed, that a notable miracle has been done through them is evident to all who dwell in Jerusalem, and we cannot deny it."

In Chapter 3, Peter and John are headed into the temple at the hour of prayer. A man who had been cripppled from childhood is seating at the gate called Beautiful begging for alms. He is in a beautiful place but his life is ugly.

Peter and John by The Power of God instanteneously bring healing to His life. The news spreads abroad and reaches the High Priests. Being alarmed, they have Peter and John brought before them. Upon enquiry, Peter full of boldness declares that they healed this man through the power of Jesus Christ whom the high priests had cruficified.

I can imagine what was going through the mind of The High Priests, *Not This Jesus Again!!!*. Even in His death He is still tormenting them. If anything, He seems to be more influential and popular in His death than when He was alive.

Could they have made him a martyr? How comes that this uneducated men are speaking with this boldness?? More importantly, what shall we do seeing that a notable miracle was done.

True leadership is when your influence outlives you. When your blueprint is embedded within people's DNA that they reproduce your results long after you are gone.

In conclusion I leave with a famous quote, *A leader is not successful unless He is successful succeeded*.

The Acts 2:13 "Others mocking said, “They are full of new wine.”

It is not customary for me to have a topic for the devotion but allow me to share today from the topic "*The Mystery Hidden in Mockery*".

So the disciples are filled with The Holy Spirit and they begin to speak in new tongues as The Holy Spirit gave them utterance. This happened to concide with The Pentecost celebration happening in Jerusalem.

Remember at this time Jews from the vast territory of Israel stretching from Modern day Libya to the North mosts parts of the Gulf region would congregate in Jerusalem to celebrate Pentecost. For context, this is exactly 50 days after the ressurection of Christ.

His news is still making headlines in town. The rogue, self-proclaimed Saviour and King of The Jews who was publicly embarassed and permanently dealt with through death by crucifixion. The most Heinous and barbaric way a man would be put to death reserved only for the worst crimes such as treason and mutiny.

However, even in His supposed grave, He is still haunting the High Priests. In the greatest ceremony all year, His disciples have caused a scene. They are babbling in strange tongues, yet they are men of Galiliee.

Strangely enough, the tongues are recognizable🤔🤔🤔. I can see the conflict in their mind. It is not a normal thing for men to speak this loudly during the day. The only logical conclusion is that they are drank of something. What we don't know is exactly what they are drunk of.

They are not normal, but I kinda like their madness. They have a new language and even though it is not civilized, I am still puzzled at how they have obtained mastery in such a language.

Child of God, what God is about to give you cannot be explained. It is the nice kind of craizy. There is mystery hidden in their mockery.
