🌅 WORD OF THE DAY: TESTED DEVOTION 🌅
📖 Main Scripture:
“Then Satan answered the Lord and said, ‘Does Job fear God for nothing?’”
— Job 1:9
📖 Additional Scriptures:
“The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord.”
— Job 1:21
“Now I know that you fear God, since you have not withheld your son, your only son, from Me.”
— Genesis 22:12
✨ Revelation:
One of the deepest questions in Scripture is found in Job chapter 1:
“Does Job fear God for nothing?”
Satan challenged the authenticity of Job’s love for God. His argument was simple: Job serves You because You bless him. Remove the blessings, and his worship will disappear.
This same question echoes through every generation.
Do we love God for who He is, or for what He gives?
Do we love God because of the miracles, the breakthroughs, the open doors, and the answered prayers?
Or would we still worship if the blessing was removed?
Abraham faced this test when God asked for Isaac—the promised son he loved dearly. Job faced it when everything he valued was taken away in a single day.
God does not need convincing words about our love for Him. He sees the heart. And often, love is revealed through testing.
A faith that has never been tested is a faith that has never been proven.
The greatest evidence of devotion is not what we say when God gives. It is how we respond when God allows a season of loss, waiting, or sacrifice.
True worship says:
“Even if I do not understand, I will trust Him.”
“Even if I lose what I cherish most, I will still serve Him.”
“Even if the miracle does not come the way I expected, God is still worthy.”
🔥 Prophetic Insight:
Many believers are walking through seasons where God is testing priorities, motives, and foundations.
The Lord is separating dependence on blessings from dependence on Him.
What is being tested today is being strengthened for tomorrow.
Every surrendered Isaac, every hidden sacrifice, and every act of obedience is producing a deeper level of intimacy with God.
What remains after the test is genuine faith, purified worship, and unshakable trust.
🙏 Prayer:
Father, help me to love You for who You are and not merely for what You provide. Search my heart and reveal anything that I have placed above You. Give me the grace to trust You through every test and every season. Let my worship remain genuine whether I am experiencing abundance or loss. May my devotion be anchored in Your character and not in my circumstances. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
🌸 Declaration:
“My love for God is not dependent on blessings, miracles, or circumstances. I will serve Him in abundance and in lack, in victory and in testing. My devotion belongs to God alone.”
