“YOU KNOW, A LAMP THAT RUNS OUT OF OIL CAN NO LONGER GIVE LIGHT.”
That is not only true of a lamp — it is true of a soul that has drifted away from God. A believer cannot shine for Christ while living empty, prayerless, worldly, and spiritually dry. Jesus said:
“Ye are the light of the world.” — Matthew 5:14
But a light without oil soon dies.
In Scripture, oil is often a picture of the Holy Spirit. In the parable of the ten virgins, the wise virgins had oil in their lamps, but the foolish had none when the bridegroom came. Holy Bible The message is clear: outward religion is not enough. Church attendance is not enough. Having Christian words is not enough. We must truly be filled with the Spirit of God.
The world is getting darker with sin, deception, pride, and rebellion against God. This is not the hour for sleeping saints. This is the hour to trim the lamp, refill the oil, and burn brighter for Jesus Christ.
The Holy Ghost gives power to pray, strength to resist temptation, boldness to witness, and love for holiness. Without Him, the heart grows cold. The fire fades. The testimony weakens.
“And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;” — Ephesians 5:18
God is calling His people back to the secret place of prayer, to repentance, to the Word of God, and to a life separated unto Him. The lamp must stay burning until Jesus comes.
Make sure there is oil in your lamp today:
• Oil of prayer
• Oil of obedience
• Oil of faith
• Oil of holiness
• Oil of the Holy Ghost
Because when Christ returns, only those who are ready will enter in.
“Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.” — Matthew 25:13
