Think you are seeing a fierce competition when you watch an SEC college football game, a WWE wrestling event,
Well, these are all just sissy stuff when compared to Jesus’ fight against the devil in the wilderness (Matt. 4:1–11). Here are six things Jesus teaches us about the devil in this epic encounter:
1. The devil is real.
The Bible tells us that “Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil” (4:1) People should not doubt the existence of Satan. He is indeed real and tried to destroy Jesus in the wilderness to thwart his redemptive work.
2. The devil tries to make us doubt God’s provision.
Jesus had been fasting for forty days and forty nights, and Satan seized upon this opportunity to take advantage of Jesus in his weakened physical state. The devil told him:
If you are the Son of God, command these stones to become loaves of bread. (4:3)
Notice the first word the devil used: “if.” Satan knew Jesus was the Son of God. The devil hoped his taunts, combined with Jesus’ physical hunger, would cause Jesus to buckle, but that wasn’t going to happen. Jesus had confidence that his Father would provide for all his needs. He came right back at Satan with a Scripture text:
It is written, ‘“Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.” (4:4; see also Deut. 8:3)
Christians also face circumstances in life in which they are weakened and more vulnerable to Satan’s schemes. We must trust God’s Word and not allow our doubts, fears, and fleshly desires to lead us into sin. We also need to attend church regularly and be in regular fellowship with the saints so that we may stand strong together against the devil.
3. The devil knows Scripture.
Next, the devil cites Psalm 91:11–12 to entice Jesus to jump off the roof of the temple to test God’s love for his Son (Matt. 4:5–6). Jesus answers Satan right back with Scripture:
“Again it is written, ‘You shall not put the Lord your God to the test.’” (4:7; see also Deut. 6:16)
If you think Scripture can’t be twisted for evil purposes, you need look no further than this passage to realize this is one of the major ways Satan attacks Christians. Just as the devil twists God’s command to Adam and Eve in the garden of Eden (Gen. 3:1–5), he repeats the same drill with Jesus in the wilderness. Christians must be equipped with God’s Word like Jesus was so they can stand strong against the devil. Yet, knowing Scripture is not enough; Christians also need to know how to interpret Bible verses in their proper context to employ them effectively against all the devil’s schemes.
4. The devil has great power.
After the devil’s first two failed attempts to get Jesus to obey him rather than God, Satan tempts Jesus to choose worldly power over obedience to his Father.
Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory. And he said to him, “All these I will give you, if you will fall down and worship me.” (Matt. 4:8–9)
Satan shows his great power by first taking Jesus to the pinnacle of the temple and then to a mountaintop. If Satan can do such things, we should never underestimate his power here on earth. Furthermore, we should not be surprised by the evil we see all around us. Still, the devil can only do what God allows him to do (Job 1:12).
5. Jesus has authority over the devil.
We can be confident in the midst of any trial that God is in control and has ultimate power over Satan in all things.
Then Jesus said to him, “Be gone, Satan! For it is written, “‘You shall worship the Lord your God and him only shall you serve.’” (Matt. 4:10; see also Deut. 6:13)
Jesus had to pass the test that Adam failed in the garden of Eden (Gen 2:16–17; 3:1–6). He refused to believe the devil’s lies and instead obeyed his Father in all things. Jesus was tempted but did not sin (Heb. 4:15). Satan has power, but Jesus has ultimate power over all creation. When Jesus said, “Be gone, Satan!” the devil had to obey him (Matt. 4:11).
6. The devil is doomed.
Although it may have appeared that the devil triumphed over God at the cross, it was actually the other way around. In that greatest act of evil ever perpetrated against God and man, Jesus conquered sin, death, and the devil with the greatest victory of all time, winning salvation for all who trust in him.
Satan hates God, and he hates you and me. If the devil tried repeatedly to destroy God’s Son, we can be certain he seeks our demise as well. He tries to frighten and tempt Christians and make them think the world can satisfy their needs, when only God can. If you are in Christ, the devil can never rob you of your right standing before God. He can cause believers to experience great struggles in this life, but only as God allows in his perfect will. Just as the angels rushed in to care for Jesus after he defeated the devil in the wilderness (4:11), God cares for his children in ways we cannot always see, but are still real and present all around us (Prov. 5:21; 1 Pet. 5:7).
The devil’s time is short, and his doom is sure. In this time before Jesus’ return, God is patient, “not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance” (1 Pet. 3:9). Take comfort, because Jesus Christ—your captain, your champion, your advocate, your hero—shall never waver in his love for you. He “will sustain you to the end, guiltless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ” (1 Cor. 1:8).

THIS WEEKS SERMON; THE DOCTOR AND THE SICK
Scripture: Luke 5:27-32 (Matthew 9:12; Mark 2:17)
After this he went out, and saw a tax collector, named Levi, sitting at the tax office; and he said to him, "Follow me."And he left everything, and rose and followed him. And Levi made him a great feast in his house; and there was a large company of tax collectors and others sitting at table with them. And the Pharisees and their scribes murmured against his disciples, saying, "Why do you eat and drink with tax collectors and sinners?"And Jesus answered them, "Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick; I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance."

:
People in Palestine were divided into roughly two groups: the orthodox Jews who rigidly kept the law and all its petty regulations, and the rest who didn't keep all the minute regulations. The orthodox treated the latter like second class citizens. They scrupulously avoided their company, refused to do business with them, refused to give or receive anything from them, refused to intermarry, and avoided any form of entertainment with them, including table fellowship. CHRIST' association with the latter, especially with tax collectors and sinners, shocked the sensibilities of these orthodox Jews. In calling Matthew to be one of his disciples, Jesus picked one of the unlikeliest of men -- a tax collector who by profession was despised by the Jewish people. When the Pharisees challenged his unorthodox behavior in eating with public sinners, Jesus' defence was quite simple. A doctor doesn't need to visit healthy people; instead he goes to those who are sick. CHRIST likewise sought out those in the greatest need. A true physician seeks healing of the whole person -- body, mind, and spirit. CHRIST came as the divine physician and good shepherd to care for his people and to restore them to wholeness of life. The orthodox were so preoccupied with their own practice of religion that they neglected to help the very people who needed the greatest care. Their religion was selfish because they didn't want to have anything to do with people not like themselves. CHRIST stated his mission in unequivocal terms: I came not to call the righteous, but to call sinners. Ironically the orthodox were as needy as those they despised. All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God (Rom show them mercy and kindness?
"Our Savior, let us now come to you: Our hearts are cold; Lord, warm them with your selfless love. Our hearts are sinful; cleanse them with your precious blood. Our hearts are weak; strengthen them with your joyous Spirit. Our hearts are empty; fill them with your divine presence. YAHSHUA, our hearts are yours; possess them always and only for yourself." (Prayer of Augustine, 354-430)

PRINCIPLES FOR EXPERIENCING GODS BLESSINGS.

We are all blessed with all the spiritual blessings; Ephesians 1:3. God is impartial and he gave everyone the potential to make a difference in this world. It doesn't matter where you come from, your background, your lineage. All of us are equals. Life is the game of equals. The best you play determines the trophies you walk away with.

How can I experience the blessings of God in the present, physical life?........... Making reality of the abounding spiritual blessings.

Wealth and riches are from God.....1st Chronicles 29:12 says; Wealth and honor come from you ‘God’; you are the ruler of all things. In your hands are strength and power to exalt and give strength to all. God himself says; With me are riches and honor, enduring wealth and prosperity, (Proverbs 8:18).

God intended that man enjoys his life in Him,and lives to accomplish His purpose......a wonderful purpose He was designed to fulfill.

God laid down principles for us to receive His bountiful blessings namely;

1. Trust in God...(Jeremiah 17:7-8, Phil 4:19).
2. Love God, walk in obedience, keep His commands...(Deuteronomy 28:1, 30:16, Proverbs 16:20)
3. Capture your life desire and make a concise and relevant plan towards the same, (Psalms 20:4)
4. Be committed in what you do.(Proverbs 16:3)
5: Be faithful (Malachi 25:21)
6. Fear God,and take refuge in God. (Psalms 31:19, Psalms 34:8).
7. Worship God “For Health and sickness” (Exodus 23:25).
8. Don't repay Evil for Evil,but with good. (1st Peter 3:9).
9. Tithe (Malachi 3:10).

Note:
The blessings of God add no sorrow *The blessing of the LORD brings wealth, without sorrow for it; (Proverbs 10:22)

Sermon Title: Assurance of our Salvation.

The name John means ‹God is Gracious› Indeed, he is. We are alive to see today because of Gods grace

John, the apostle of love wrote 5 books.
1. He wrote the Gospel--that we may believe in Jesus. God came down in Human body to pay for our sin, give us the grace to walk upright life and that we have eternal life. John emphasizes the fact that Jesus is 100% God
2. He wrote 1st, 2nd, 3rd John--written purposely to assure us of our salvation. Many people struggle with the fact as to whether they are saved or not. John captures the Answer (we would be learning from 1st John today).
3. He wrote Revelation-that we may be ready. Jesus is coming soon.

Jesus said : I am the way, the truth and the life, (John 14:6).
**Jesus is life eternal. 1 John 1:2 (The life appeared; we have seen it and testify to it, and we proclaim to you the eternal life, which was with the Father and has appeared to us).
Eternal life is a gift from God>(Romans 6:23). You can never earn eternal life.
All we are required of, is to receive the gift by believing in His Son Jesus Christ (John 3:16, 3:36).

There are two things John mentions to assure us of our Salvation.
1. Believing in Christ Jesus. When we confess with our mouths that Jesus is Lord, and believe in our hearts that He rose again; Jesus comes and dwell in us. Eternity lives in us.
2. Walk in the light. Scripture confirms to us that walking in the light is basically abiding in Christ which is literally loving our brothers. Anybody who hates does not walk in light, neither does he know Christ.

When we are sure of our salvation, the devil cannot plant seeds of doubt in our hearts. He targets to hurt our faith, and eventually stop us from enjoying the blessings of God in our lives.

A QUICK STUDY ON CHRIST.
There was never a time when Jesus Christ was not, (John 8:58, Micah 5:2, Isaiah 9:6, John 1:1). Through him all things were created...... and in him all things consist(Colosians 1:16-17).
Christ was involved in God's eternal decrees, and in all aspects of His(Gods) total purpose.

SALVATION OF GODS' ELECT.

Gods major purpose through Christ was salvation of the elect
(Roman's 8:28-29, Eph 1:4-11/3:1, 2nd Thessalonians 2:13, 2nd Tim 1:9-10, James 2:5, 1st Peter 1:1-2 )

Jesus was both 100% MAN and 100% DEITY in a relationship termed as hypostatic union.
As a Man, he lived a righteous life (Perfect humanity). He did that so that he would identify with us, and share of our challenges. He knows what it means to be human, and hence gave us his righteousness for our sin which he paid for on the cross.
God aspect of Christ qualified him for our saviour. Only God could save the fallen man

LAST PRAYER OF JESUS:JOHN 17
1. To Himself : Glorify me for I have accomplished my purpose of giving eternal life to all those you gave me which is to know you(true God) and me(their saviour)
2. To the disciples : I have revealed you to them and they have OBEYED me. They know that everything you(God) have is mine(Jesus). Now protect and keep them safe from the devil by the power of your name. Give them the full measure of joy from within. Sanctify them by your truth, your word is the truth.
3. To believers : All may be one for I have given them my glory, may they also be in us: I in them you in me so that they will be brought to full unity, for the world to believe you sent me. Father, I also want those you have given me to be with me where I am and see the glory you have given me because you love me.
I have made you known to them, and I will continue so that the love you have for me may also be in them.

Amen and Amen.

SUNDAY SERVICE.

BE PATIENT, JESUS IS COMING SOON.
Jesus is alive. After His resurrection, he left ahead of us to heaven, prepared a place for all who experience the second birth "and is now seated at the right hand of God; interceding on our behave".
When he comes,he will be united with the Church for an eternity in heaven.
There is an event prior to His second coming.;Jesus will literally come to the skies, call forth all the born again believers " the dead first, then the living" for 7 (seven) years wedding experience. The event of being captured up in the skies is called RAPTURE.
While the Church is feasting somewhere in the skies. A new leader take charge here on earth. All the nations of the world will unite under his leadership. This leader is whom is often referred to us the Anti-Christ. The first 3.5 years of his reign will be characterized by peace and prosperity. Everyone will speak highly of Him,sort of turning him into an object of worship. The world would literally worship the Antichrist. After the end of three and half years, the Antichrist will reveal his true colours, unleashing his vicious anger against anyone who make mention of God and believes in Christ,(There will be a chosen lot who would preach at that period in time. The bible calls them the two witnesses).
It will be a terrible moment that the scriptures describe as the great tribulations.
After the seven years of making merry in the skies,we come back with Christ; the King of Kings,to rule the earth together with him for 1000 years. Once again the world would experience Justice, fairness and political sanity.
Thereafter there would be Judgement then God will create the new earth and the new heaven where we would spend eternity with him.

James exhorts us to wait patiently for his coming; (James 7:5-11). Just like a farmer waits for the rain. In the event James reiterates that we do two things as expectant Christians.
1. Strengthen our hearts.
Out of the abundance of the heart, flow the issues of life. Its with the heart that we feel and react to situation in life. Our lifestyles is woven around our hearts.
How the do we strengthen our hearts?
What goes into the mind repeatedly forms your heart; the event of the heart conforming or transforming is called regeneration. The heart regenerates automatically as the mind receives information.
We strengthen our hearts by knowing God and his son Jesus Christ. Paul,in Romans 12 calls it transformation; probably into Christlikeness.
Read your bible, listen to sermons and such. With this, our hearts are strengthened.

2.Do not grumble against one another.
Literally, have no time scrutinizing, criticizing each other. All we have for one another is love love love. Building one another in faith. Praying for one another.
Any time we grumble against one another, we bring judgement upon ourselves.

The going may be tough but let's walk with God just like Job did(Walking with entails having a relationship with Him on personal level). He is COMING FOR US

MISUNDERSTANDING JESUS
I believe no one who has ever lived has been misunderstood
more than the young teacher who happened to be born, not by pref-
erence but by promise, through the line of the Old Testament
Hebrew patriarch Abraham—Jesus the Christ. Misunderstanding
Jesus has caused Muslims to reject Him, Hindus to suspect Him,
Buddhists to ignore Him, atheists to hate Him, and agnostics to deny
Him. But it just may be those who claim to represent Him the
most—Christians—who have in fact misunderstood and, therefore,
misrepresented Him the most.
If my last statement sounds outlandish and way off the mark to
you, let me encourage you to read the rest of this book before clos-
ing your mind to this possibility. In my own life I have had to come
to grips with my own personal defects related to my understanding
of Jesus and His message. This book will demonstrate beyond doubt
that Jesus’ message, assignment, passion, and purpose were not to
establish a religion of rituals and rules but rather to reintroduce akingdom. Everything Jesus said and did—His prayers, teachings,
healings, and miracles—was focused on a kingdom, not a religion.
Jesus was preoccupied with the Kingdom; it was His top priority, His
heavenly mandate.
Those to whom He came first, the Jews, misunderstood Jesus
and saw Him as a rebel, a misfit, and a fanatic. In their minds He
was, at best, a misguided rabbinical teacher spreading heresies that
contaminated the teachings and laws of Moses and Judaism. In
truth, they had reduced the message of Moses to a sophisticated
religion where strict observance of the laws became more impor-
tant than the original purpose for those laws. And they expected
Jesus to do the same. The original intent of God’s mandate to Moses
was not to establish a religion but a nation of people who would
love, serve, and honor God a “royal priesthood [and] a holy
nation” (see 1 Pet. 2:9).
The Muslim misunderstands Him as simply another in a line of
prophets who was a great teacher, a good man, and a great prophet,
but who fell short and failed to deliver the finished work of redemp-tion to mankind.
The Hindu misunderstands Him as a good teacher, a good man,
and just another deity to add to their list of gods to provide a serv-
ice in their need for spiritual security.
The atheist, agnostic, and humanist see him as a mere man, an
historical figure, whom a group of misguided men transformed into
a god and an object of worship. They acknowledge that Jesus exist-
ed but deny any of His miracles as well as His claim to divinity.
The media, scientists, and secularists see Him as fair game for
investigation and criticism. They acknowledge Him as an interesting
subject for arguments, theories, discussion, and debates while ignor-
ing His divine claims and questioning His validity, integrity, and
sometimes, His very existence.
Christians have misunderstood Him as the founder of a religion
and have transformed His teachings and His methods into customs and His activities into rituals. Many even have reduced His message
to nothing more than an escapist plan for getting to heaven and His
promises as a mere fire insurance policy for escaping the pains of a
tormenting hell.
And yet a simple study and review of His message and priority
reveals that Jesus had only one message, one mandate, and one mis-sion—the return of the Kingdom of Heaven to earth. From the very
beginning, Jesus made it clear that the principal need of the human
race, and the only solution to mankind’s dilemma, was the Kingdom
of Heaven. His first public statements reveal this Kingdom priority:
From that time on Jesus began to preach, “Repent, for the
kingdom of heaven is near” (Matthew 4:17).
Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of
heaven (Matthew 5:3).
Jesus’ first announcement was the arrival of the Kingdom of
Heaven. His solution to the malnourished and bankrupt human
spirit was not a religion but the Kingdom of Heaven. In other words,
if you are spiritually poor, only the Kingdom will satisfy and fulfill
your hunger. The Kingdom is God’s priority and must become our
priority if we are to overcome the confusion of religions and the
threat of self-destruction.

SUCCESS.
There is an in build drive in all of us to succeed. It is in Gods best interest to see us grow and become influential. He designed us to think innovatively, act smartly and judge right so that we may continue his creative work here on earth.
God,though, approaches success uniquely,in a manner all of us must embrace. According to God,success is not measured in terms material stuff and money but by the content of the soul. When the soul of man is empty and bitter, prestige, fame and money becomes useless.
Solomon is the Bibles icon of success, and his story carries some gist on hints towards success in life.
Success is entirely woven in God;
1. We need godly mentors.
1st Kings 2:3, David exhort Solomon to seek and obey God who would seal our prosperity. In the same measure we need people in our lives who would always point us to God(Colossians 3:2)
2. We need to ask for Gods wisdom.
1st King 3:1-15, shows Solomon asking for wisdom. He could have sought for material riches instead he went for the true, and everlasting riches. Matthew 6:33 reminds us to seek God,and all the thing will be added to us. In other words,it is God alone who prospers us
3. Our intentions must be to serve Gods people.
God read Solomons heart. His heart was drawn to people, and God was impressed with him and he blessed him.
Success inward outwards,it begins with a soul full of God

Kingmaker Chapel
WHAT SALVATION DOES
This message is for the world changers. You were designed and created to change the world for the better. God saved you to be excellent and not to operate on wings of mediocrity. Your existence is the available potential to effect change.
Take note that the world we are living in today is spiritually controlled. The devil interferes with the spiritual reality in order to cause havoc in the natural. Christ restored the spiritual disorder set by the devil, and now we have an option to embrace him and live a orderly and abundant life once again.
What salvation does
1. Salvation gives us distinction, 1st Peter 2:10.. We are no longer slaves to sin but sons in the kingdom with Gods spirit. No longer sinners but righteous through our Lord Jesus Christ. We are set apart, ahead and not the tail, above and not beneath. We are sitted together with Christ in heaven
2. Salvation is a journey to perfection. Becoming like our Lord Jesus Christ. Each day is our opportunity to mend our ways and become more like Christ. God lifts us from glory to glory, better and better.
3. Salvation alters our destiny. It makes heaven your limit. We are supposed to envision great stride and take a leap. Our grand parents did set mediocre precedence but we need to change that for the better.
Let seek, follow and stay in Christ.

KINGDOM PRINCIPLES
A principle is a law or rule that has to be, or usually is to be followed, or can be desirably followed, or is an inevitable consequence of something, such as the laws observed in nature or the way that a system is constructed.
Kingdom principles enables kingdom affairs to ran
FIVE PRINCIPLES IN THE KINGDOM OF GOD
1.PRINCIPLE OF PROMISE
2.PRINCIPLE OF PATIENCE
3.PRINCIPLE OF PRAISE
4.PRINCIPLE OF PROVISION
5.PRINCIPLE OF PROMOTION

1.PRINCIPLE OF PROMISE
Psalm 127:1 Genesis 11:1-9
The principle of promise is the fundamental principle in the Kingdom of God. We should not attempt anything in our own strength without receiving a promise from the Lord. God wants us to be in his perfect will. We read how the attempt to build the tower of Babel failed because the Lord was against it. Always ask God; is what you are doing in Gods perfect will? Gods promises give us the clue. Psalms 127 reiterates that, unless the Lord builds a house, he who is doing that would be doing it in vain. Christ himself did only that which His father in heaven did( John 15:19).
2.PRINCIPLE OF PATIENCE
Hebrews 6:12 Psalm 105:19
The second principle is the principle of patience. After receiving a promise we should not give up at the first hint of trouble. In the New testament we read how Mary and Joseph went to Bethlehem according to the will of God. But there was no place for them at the inn. Finally they had to stay in a manger. Being in the center of God’s will does not mean that life will be a bed of roses. In the Old Testament Joseph had a dream in which he was exalted above his brothers. But before it could be fulfilled he had to go through severe trials he was thrown into a pit , sold as a slave , thrown into prison on false accusations. It looked as though he was humiliated more than all his brothers. But the day came when God fulfilled that dream.
3.PRINCIPLE OF PRAISE
Psalm 22:3 Joshua 6:20 Acts 16:25-26 Numbers 32:13
The third principle is the principle of praise. God inhabits the praises of His people. The principle of praise is a powerful principle in the Kingdom of God. The walls of Jericho fell when the people praised God . The earth shook and prison doors opened when Paul and Silas praised God. Where there is no praise there is bound to be grumbling and murmuring whch destroyed the people of Israel and prevented them from entering the promised land. We should beware of this spirit of grumbling and murmuring for it will destroy our lives.
4.PRINCIPLE OF PROVISION
Matthew 6:33 Luke 5:1-11 II Corinthians 9:7 Luke 6:38
The fourth principle is the principle of provision. When we put God first in our lives He is faithful to meet all our needs. We read about Peter and his boat. All night long he fished and caught nothing . In the midst of his disappointment Jesus came and asked Peter to let him use his boat. In spite of his misery Peter gladly allowed Jesus to use his boat. After using the boat Jesus told Peter to cast the net on the right side. Immediately they caught so much fish that there was not enough room in the boat. When we willingly allow God to use whatever we have for His kingdom, He will bless us until we have not enough room to hold the blessing. The principle of provision is giving before we receive.
5. PRINCIPLE OF PROMOTION
Luke 14:11 Matthew 18:1-4
The fifth principle is the principle of promotion. In the Kingdom of God promotion comes by humility. The disciples of Jesus wanted to know who was the greatest in the Kingdom of God. Jesus set a little child in front of them. He did not call the wealthiest , or the wisest , or the most experienced present person as an example. Jesus taught clearly that whoever humbles himself like a little child shall be greatest in the Kingdom of God.
