A Promise for Every Season in this new year 2026
"Listen to me... you whom I have upheld since your birth, and have carried since you were born. Even to your old age and gray hairs I am he, I am he who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you." — Isaiah 46:3-4 (NIV)
The Burden-Bearer
In a world that often demands we "carry our own weight," God offers a radical alternative: He carries us. This passage is a beautiful reminder that God's commitment to you isn't seasonal. He doesn't just help you get started and then leave you to figure out the rest. From your very first breath to your final years, His strength remains constant.
Three Pillars of Hope
1. The Past: He has upheld you since your birth. You are not a self-made person; you are a God-sustained person.
2. The Present: He is "He who will sustain you." Right now, in the middle of whatever stress or fatigue you feel, His arms are underneath you.
3. The Future: "Even to your old age." You don't have to fear the "what-ifs" of the future because God is already there, ready to carry you through those years, too.
Reflection
Whatever burden you are trying to shoulder today—whether it's a difficult decision, a weary heart, or the physical toll of a long season—you can set it down. You aren't meant to carry the weight of the world; you are meant to be carried by the Creator of it.
He made you, He loves you, and He is not going to let go.
