Daily Devotional: The Lord Knows Those Who are His

2 Timothy 2:19 Nevertheless the solid foundation of God stands, having this seal: "The Lord knows those who are His," and, "Let everyone who names the name of Christ depart from iniquity" (NKJV)

The Lord makes a clear distinction between those who serve Him in truth and in spirit and those who do not.

In His dealing with Israel and the Egyptians, He demonstrated this distinction because He exempted Israel from plagues and death and smote Israel with them.

Today, we can be sure that the Lord takes notice and distinguishes His people from those who are not.

In today's theme Scripture, the word of God states that He knows those who are His. He also demands that everyone who claims to be associated with Him must depart from wickedness. The problem we face today is that many people live double lives and yet claim to be on God's side.

God cannot be mocked. He knows where our hearts are and will reward each one according to what his deeds deserve.

Make a resolution to be on God's side no matter what.

Have you surrendered to God's leadership? Are you truly eager to stand on the Lord's side?

May the grace of God empower us to stand firm on the Lord's side in Jesus' name!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Daily Devotional: God Loves You

John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life (NKJV).

The message of the gospel can be summed up in one verse namely John 3.16.

It captures the love of God, His willingness to send His Son to redeem man and His gift of eternal life to undeserving humanity.

This is the good news we need to share with all people.

We must make sure that now that we have have received God's love, we make it known to other people.

God desires that the message of the gospel and His love will reach all men around the world. 1 Timothy 2.3-4.

God does not want any man to perish because He is love.

Have you been born again? Do you share the good news to the people around you?

May the grace of God help us to share the love of God in the name of Jesus!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Daily Devotional: The Messiah's Mandate

Luke 4:18-19 The Spirit of the Lord [is] upon Me, because He has anointed Me [the Anointed One, the Messiah] to preach the good news (the Gospel) to the poor; He has sent Me to announce release to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to send forth as delivered those who are oppressed [who are downtrodden, bruised, crushed, and broken down by calamity], To proclaim the accepted and acceptable year of the Lord [the day when salvation and the free favors of God profusely abound (AMP).

The Lord Jesus came to rescue mankind from the bo***ge of Satan.

He was anointed of God to to set the captives free and release the oppressed.

His mandate reached out to all God's people that will respond to Him by faith.

Those who have been crushed, oppressed, downtrodden and bruised can receive deliverance and healing from the healing balm of Gilead.

We do not have to live in sin and bo***ge. We can enjoy freedom because of the blood of Jesus.

The Holy Spirit is looking for clean vessels that can proclaim the message of deliverance in His name. Too many people have been bound in demonic cages and they need to be set free.

Are you enjoying spiritual freedom? Are you aware of the message of deliverance?

May the power of God help us to grasp the full implications of deliverance and Christ's mandate in Jesus' name!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Daily Devotional: The Devil is a Negotiator

Exodus 8:28 And Pharaoh said, "I will let you go, that you may sacrifice to the LORD your God in the wilderness; only you shall not go very far away. Intercede for me" (NKJV).

When God sent Moses to Egypt to deliver His people, he found Pharaoh who opposed their deliverance.

Time and again, Moses communicated the message of the Lord, "Let my people go."

On several occasions, Pharaoh refused to heed that divine order. He hardened his heart.

However, when push came to shove, he had to cave in. He allowed them to go but in condition that they would not go too far.

That is how Satan, who is typified by Pharaoh, does. He negotiates with believers that they should not go too far in their faith.

He wants them to wallow in the shallow waters from where he can manipulate them at will.

The will of God is that His people should launch into the deep. He wants them to have a strong relationship with them that offers no room to the enemy.

We must make a decision to be fully committed to God and not allow the evil one to negotiate with us on how and when we should serve God.

Are you sold out to God? Is your relationship with God nonnegotiable?

May the Holy Spirit embolden us to be totally committed to God in Jesus name!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Daily Devotional: Salvation is of the Lord

Jonah 2:10 But I will sacrifice to You with the voice of thanksgiving; I will pay what I have vowed. Salvation is of the LORD" (NKJV)

Salvation is the greatest gift God has given humanity. It comes by grace through faith and no man can earn it. Ephesians 2.8-9.

The Greek word for salvation is "sozo." It implies wellness in every aspect of life.

Jonah recognised that forgiveness and redemption are God's work when he was sent to Nineveh to share the message of looming judgment to them.

To his shock, they repented without delay and the Lord forgave them.

Whenever we share the gospel, we must be ready to allow the Holy Spirit to do His work of convicting sinners because only He can do that.

No emotions, hype, shouting, cajoling and flowery language can make a sinner turn to God for salvation.

This is a clear confirmation that salvation is of the Lord from beginning to end.

Are you committed to living a godly life by God's grace? Are you aware that only God can save?

May the Spirit of God equip us to share the good news in Jesus' name!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Daily Devotional: Your Sin Will Find You Out

Numbers 32:23 But if you will not do so, behold, you have sinned against the Lord; and be sure your sin will find you out (AMP).

Some people commit what they describe as secret sins. No man gets to know about them because they are done under the cover of darkness.

The word of God is clear that those who commit sin can be sure that they will not go without being found out.

The same way God found out Adam when he sinned, He always finds out when we sin.

We must ensure that we deal with our sins before it is too late. Repentance opens a door for forgiveness to take root.

Blessed indeed are those whose sins are forgiven. Psalm 32.1.

Those who die without repenting are going to end up in the lake of fire because nothing vile shall get into the new Jerusalem. Revelation 21.8.

The will of God is that His people will inherit eternal life. 1 Timothy 2.3-4.

We need to turn ourselves in and repent our sins now before they find us out and embarrass us before the Lord.

Have you been born again? Have you repented all your sins?

May the Spirit of God help us to identify the areas in which we need to repent in Jesus' name!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Daily Devotional: Divine Protection

Psalm 91:7-8 A thousand may fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand, but it shall not come near you. Only a spectator shall you be [yourself inaccessible in the secret place of the Most High] as you witness the reward of the wicked (AMP).

The word of God is clear that God delights in offering protection to His people.

The Psalmist knew this better than most people. He had been in many situations that needed protection from many enemies.

The theme verses show that a many people may die by our side but calamity shall not come near us.

Divine protection is a part of the salvation package. The Greek word for salvation is "sozo" and it implies wellness in every aspect of life. It is the sum total of the finished work of the cross.

Believers need not live in fear because the Lord is in and upon them. We also have a duty to teach others faith so that they may believe in Jesus and activate His power in their lives.

Are you trusting God for protection from all calamities? Do you have hope in God's protective power?

May the grace of God protect us from all evil in the name of Jesus Christ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Daily Devotional: Treasure God's Word

Deuteronomy 6:6-7 And these words which I am commanding you this day shall be [first] in your [own] minds and hearts; [then] You shall whet and sharpen them so as to make them pe*****te, and teach and impress them diligently upon the [minds and] hearts of your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down and when you rise up (AMP).

The word of God is the greatest treasure He has given us. He desires that we value it exceedingly.

The theme verses show that God commanded Israel to daily meditate on it daily. Psalm 1.1-2 tells us to take mediating on it day and night.

Joshua 1.8-9 instructs us to meditate on God's word continually so that we can be established and become successful.

Those who treasure God's word and live by it will receive the gift of eternal life. Those who despise it will be damned because there is no life without the word.

The will of God is that we may receive the gift of eternal life and be with Him forever.

Do you treasure God's word? Are you careful to learn and obey the word of God?

May the grace of God help us to love and obey His word in Jesus' name!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Daily Devotional: Love Covers a Multitude of Sins

1 Peter 4:8 Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins (NIV).

Love is the greatest commandment God has given us. It wraps up all holy commandments to humanity.

When we genuinely love others, we overlook their weaknesses and desire the best for them.

While we might not excuse their sins, we are disposed to treat them with due consideration and understanding.

God desires that we love others from the heart. He wants us to be ready to forgive others with liberality because we also commit many sins and mistakes.

When we love others, we are able to pray for them to receive divine help.

We should strive to grow in love in all we do. We should also encourage fellow believers to love others without reservations.

Are you walking in love? Are you eager to forgive others no matter what they do to you?

May the love of God overshadow us in the name of Jesus Christ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Daily Devotional: God's Presence Gives Rest

Exodus 33:14
And the Lord said, My Presence shall go with you, and I will give you rest (AMP)

One of the things we need most in life is the presence of God.

His presence gives joy and pleasures forever more. Psalm 16.11.

The Holy Spirit is the chief agent of God's presence. He has been sent to live in and upon the saints.

In the theme verse, the Lord promised Moses that His presence would go with him wherever he went.

Believers have a greater privilege than Moses because we live under a new covenant that has better terms than the old one.

We should make it our daily lifestyle to seek God and His presence.

Are you eager to have God's presence in your life?

May the power and presence of God overshadow us in the name of Jesus Christ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Daily Devotional: Grow Your Faith

Romans 10:17 So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God (NKJV)

The way God wants His people to relate with Him is by faith.

His word says that without faith it is impossible to please Him (Hebrews 11.6). God is pleased when His people take Him at His word because it is infallible.

Abraham the father of faith won God's commendation because he believed God.

The good faith about faith is that it is within the reach of each one of us.

The blind, the deaf, the mute, the young, the old etc can all believe.

The theme verse gives us the secret of growing our faith - hearing, and hearing the word of God.

There are so many channels that daily share the word of God and we would do well to take advantage of them.

It is the will of God that our faith will not only grow but also work for us. We can become stronger in faith by continually taking in the oracles of our God.

The process of discipleship requires that we hear and apply the word each day.

Are you growing in faith? Is your faith working for you?

May the Holy Spirit help us to work on our faith in Jesus' name!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Daily Devotional: Stand Firm

Ephesians 6:13 Therefore put on God's complete armor, that you may be able to resist and stand your ground on the evil day [of danger], and, having done all [the crisis demands], to stand [firmly in your place] (AMP)

The will of God is that His people should stand firm in the spiritual battle they are engaged in with the hosts of wickedness and spiritual forces they are pitted against.

In the theme verse, the Bible commands us to take up all the pieces of armour the Lord has provided us.

They include the helmet of salvation, the breastplate of righteousness, the belt of truth, the shoes of the readiness to share the gospel, the sword of the Spirit and the shield of faith.

With these in place, the believer can fight and overcome every form of spiritual opposition and resistance.

Believers are not meant to be weaklings. Rather, they are meant to be strong fighters who overcome and prevail.

God has promised many great things to all who overcome.

Are you fully armed for spiritual warfare? Are you eager to overcome every spiritual battle?

May the grace of God help us to stand firm ad soldiers of Christ in Jesus' name!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
