Hi everyone, this is Abbey Barnosky, Alan and Leah's daughter. I have attempted many times to memorialize my mother's facebook account but there is always an error and it won't go through. My mom's account has gotten a few messages over the last year because some people have not heard the news that she is passed. So i am making this post through her account to pin at the top so that people will be aware of her going home to be with her savior. Here is a link to her obituary. Reading the Bible
II Samuel10-13
I think it's possible there is some misunderstanding about this story. It is a familiar story. It is about Amnon and Tamar. It is the story of insestuous r**e and its aftermath. But what is the story that immediately proceeds it?
I Samuel 13:14
"However he would not listen to her. Since he was stronger than she, he violated her and lay with her."
Immediately preceding this story is the stories of King David's adultery with Bathsheba and murder of her husband, Uriah They are aligned this way purposefully. It seems that the sins of the father were inherited by the son. David had many women. Amnon also thought he could have any woman he wanted.
One spouse is enough for me. How is it with you?

My father and I have prayerfully considered and are ready with moving forward to combine and rebrand our ministries. Nomads 4 Jesus and Voices of Eve will now be Akiru Ministries

The ministry will be a combination of the two ministries and all that they have served and also an expansion on those ministries. We chose the name "Akiru" because that was Leah's Turkana name and it means: "rain". We pray that God will rain His blessings on this new ministry venture and that we will be powerful servants in this work! Please like and follow the new page for regular updates.
