MATURE PEOPLE

Read: Judges 15:1-20

Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; …

Hebrews 6:1

In Judges Chapter 15, we read about Samson’s revenge on his father-in-law for giving his bride to his best man. It is a child who would act as Samson did. There are simpler ways of burning a farm. The man was clearly childish in his thinking. Yet, at the same time, he was a very mature man who gave reasonable judgements for at least twenty years.

There are many Christians like that. Their level of understanding of God’s Word is excellent, yet they are so childish.

A child is very unsteady and unstable. There are many childish Christians who cannot settle down in any church. They just cannot belong anywhere. They are unsteady and unstable, yet they have great knowledge. It takes maturity to belong to a church.

Children are often easily hurt, and they need a lot of attention. In the church setting, anybody who behaves in this manner is considered a child. Such people sometimes know many Scriptures and have been Christians for a long time, yet they still get easily hurt and need much attention. A mature person doesn’t seek attention, but rather gives it.

Maturity is needed in every facet of our lives. It takes a mature man to settle down with one of the many beautiful ladies he sees around him. That is why people respect married men.

Are you mature and yet childish?

MASTER KEY

9th July, 2021

READ: Ecclesiastes 10:10-15

…but wisdom is profitable to direct.

Ecclesiastes 10:10

In the book of Ecclesiastes, God reveals the master plan for winning in hopeless situations. This story applies to any circumstance. It applies to a hopeless marriage, business or church. It applies to your case too. You will win in this fight because God’s wisdom is the master key to overcoming impossible situations.

The duty of a woman with direction to act wisely. Do not deprive your husband of food, s*x or peace at home. In fact, load it on him until he is suffocating with your love. He will be charmed by your sweetness and will have no complaints.

Attending church must be done with great wisdom and circumspection. If you are married to a husband who is unyielding and insensitive to the things of God, you cannot afford to behave like someone who is married to apostle Peter. Your circumstances are entirely different!

Learn from Abigail, wife of Nabal in 1 Samuel 25:36. She did two things. First, she said nothing to Nabal. It is not wise to say some things. Secondly, her conversation with him did not centre on controversial issues. If you learn how to speak wisely, you will be as successful as Abigail was (Proverbs 29:11).

Some women quarrel with their husbands constantly; fighting and arguing about every issue. Men do not like to be shouted at. Men do not like to feel they have lost an argument.

Be wise when dealing with men.

“Prayer is one of the greatest acts of faith.

I never used to think so! I always used to think that praying was different from exercising faith.

But now I realise that prayer demonstrates and releases faith.

The reason for this is simple; whenever you pray, you are declaring that you do not have faith in the arm of flesh.”

CLOSENESS

8th July, 2021

READ: Psalm 119:97-106

Neither have I gone back from the commandment of his lips; I have esteemed the words of his mouth more than my necessary food.

Job 23:12

One of the least understood statements of Jesus is, “I never knew you.” Those He spoke to were doing many wonderful works in His name but Jesus said, “I never knew you.”

It seems that God is more interested in the personal relationship than in the great public works that we do in His name. The only way to know Him closely is to have a regular daily quiet time. A daily quiet time will prevent you from going to Hell. A quiet time will save you from the delusion that working for God is the same as knowing Him.

There are people who work for me but who do not know me personally. They may recognize me when I come around, but they do not have a personal relationship with me. How come I have a personal relationship with some of my pastors and shepherds? The answer is simple. Some of these people make the effort to be close to me and to interact with me personally.

Attending church a thousand times is different from having a personal or one to one interaction with the Lord. It is time to know Him personally. A daily quiet time will make you have a personal one to one relationship with the Lord. Nothing else can make you have a personal relationship with the Lord. It is this personal interaction with the Lord which most Christians lack.

It is up to you and I to draw near to Him on a daily basis (James 4:8).

My prayer for you today:

May you experience a supernatural restoration of whatever you lack and whatever you have fallen short of!
