If the Catholic Church can take action to have an impostor priest arrested for falsely presenting himself as a priest, why should people in my own church feel that becoming a pastor is simply a calling that requires no formal education or training?

A genuine calling to pastoral ministry is important, but a calling should not be used as an excuse to disregard theological education, ministerial training, accountability, and proper preparation. Just as other professions require both calling and competence, pastoral ministry requires spiritual commitment as well as knowledge, character, and preparation.

A calling may open the door, but proper training prepares a person to serve responsibly.

Could there be a bad omen associated with Kenya’s election years ending in 7?

Consider the pattern: 1997, 2007, 2017—and now 2027.

Is this merely a coincidence, or should we be paying closer attention to the lessons of history?

Following the promulgation of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010, our nation embraced the principles of sovereignty, equality, and equitable distribution of public resources. Every Kenyan, regardless of where they live or which political party they support, has a constitutional right to benefit from national development.
It is therefore concerning when some leaders from the Mulembe Nation, including Musalia Mudavadi and Wycliffe Oparanya, appear to suggest that communities can only benefit from public resources by aligning themselves with the government of the day. Such narratives risk creating a misconception about how our constitutional system operates.
It is worth remembering that Wycliffe Oparanya oversaw significant development in Kakamega County while serving under the ODM party. His own experience demonstrates that effective leadership, prudent management of public resources, and accountability—not merely political alignment—are what drive development.
The people of Mulembe deserve civic education that empowers them to understand their constitutional rights and to make informed political decisions based on policies, leadership, and accountability rather than the belief that development depends solely on being politically aligned with the national government.

Message to the Mulembe Community
In light of the recent political developments and the reported speculation surrounding the possible replacement of Prof. Kithure Kindiki following the removal of Rigathi Gachagua from the office of Deputy President, it may be argued that the office has experienced significant instability.
From this perspective, some observers may reasonably express concern that, if a similar pattern were to continue, any future office holder—including Hon. Wycliffe Oparanya, should he be appointed—could face the risk of serving only a limited period before replacement. This, however, remains a matter of political analysis and opinion rather than an established fact, as appointments and tenure are determined by the Constitution, applicable laws, and the prevailing political circumstances.
The Mulembe Community is therefore encouraged to remain vigilant, united, and actively engaged in matters of governance while avoiding conclusions based solely on speculation.

Dream of the Falling Tree

I dreamed I was standing in a wide, peaceful field filled with trees of different sizes. In the center stood a magnificent, towering tree whose branches stretched high into the sky. It looked ancient, strong, and unshakable.

Nearby were several smaller trees, growing quietly under its shadow. Not far from them stood another tree that was swaying gently and joyfully in the breeze, as if celebrating life. Its leaves danced happily while everything around it remained calm.

Without warning, the great tree groaned loudly. Its massive trunk cracked, and it came crashing down with tremendous force. As it fell, it struck the smaller trees, bending and crushing them beneath its weight.

For a brief moment, it seemed as though the smaller trees had been destroyed. Then, something unexpected happened. They began to spring back to life. Their trunks straightened, their branches stretched upward, and they grew with remarkable strength. Together, they spread their branches and formed a protective covering over the tree that had been swaying happily in the wind.

The once-vulnerable swaying tree now stood safely beneath the shelter of the restored smaller trees. The fallen giant lay motionless on the ground, while the smaller trees remained standing, united and strong, shielding the joyful tree from harm.

When I awoke, the image of the fallen giant, the restored smaller trees, and the protected swaying tree remained vivid in my mind.
