MY TESTIMONY: FROM A JOURNEY OF FAITH TO A LIFE OF PURPOSE

My name is Bishop Denis Taskin, and when I look back at my journey, I can only say, “But by the grace of God, I am what I am.”
There are moments in life when you look back and realize that you could not have made it this far by your own strength. There were seasons when I did not have all the answers. There were moments of uncertainty, moments of disappointment, and moments when the road ahead seemed difficult. But through every season, God remained faithful.
I have learned that sometimes God allows us to walk through difficult places—not because He has abandoned us, but because He is preparing us for something greater.
THE CALLING
My journey into ministry was not simply about becoming a preacher. God placed a deep burden in my heart for people. I began to see people who were hurting, families that needed hope, young people searching for direction, and communities that needed to hear the message of Jesus Christ.
Something began to burn within me.
I knew that God was calling me to serve.
It was not always easy to understand where the journey would lead, but I chose to trust God one step at a time.
There were times when I questioned myself. There were times when I wondered how the vision God had placed in my heart would become reality. But God continued to remind me that He does not call us because we are sufficient; He calls us and then gives us the grace to fulfill the assignment.
THE BIRTH OF VOICE OF REDEMPTION
Out of that burden and vision came Voice of Redemption Family Assembly in Eldoret, Kenya.
The name itself carries a message close to my heart—redemption, restoration, hope, and a second chance.
I have seen people come into God's presence carrying burdens that nobody else could see. I have seen broken hearts find healing, people who had lost hope begin to believe again, and lives begin to change through the power of the Gospel.
For me, ministry has never been about numbers, titles, or recognition.
It has always been about people.
If one person finds hope, if one family is restored, if one soul comes to Christ, then the sacrifice is worth it.
THE SEASONS THAT TESTED MY FAITH
The journey has not been without challenges.
There have been seasons when I had to trust God for provision. There were times when the needs were greater than the resources available. There were moments when I felt tired and wondered how everything would come together.
But those were also the moments when I discovered the faithfulness of God in a deeper way.
When I had no strength, He became my strength.
When I did not know what to do, He gave me direction.
When doors seemed closed, He opened others.
When people could not understand the vision, God reminded me that the vision came from Him in the first place.
Every difficult season taught me to pray more, trust more, and depend less on my own understanding.
MINISTRY BEYOND THE PULPIT
God has also taught me that the Gospel must be demonstrated, not only preached.
This is why our ministry has a heart for the vulnerable, the less privileged, families, young people, and communities.
Through evangelism, discipleship, mercy ministry, leadership development, and practical empowerment, our desire is to show people that God cares about every part of their lives.
One of the things that has deeply touched my heart is seeing people given an opportunity to rebuild their lives.
When you see someone who once had no hope begin to dream again, you realize that ministry is more than standing behind a pulpit.
Ministry is touching lives.
GIGM AFRICA
God has also entrusted me with the responsibility of serving as Coordinator of GIGM Africa.
This assignment has given me an opportunity to connect with ministers and leaders, encourage unity, strengthen relationships, and participate in the advancement of God's Kingdom across Africa.
I believe this is a season in which the Church must learn to work together.
There is too much work to be done for us to remain divided.
My prayer is to see ministers standing together, churches supporting one another, leaders raising other leaders, and communities experiencing the transforming power of Jesus Christ.
MY EBENEZER
Today, when I look at where I started and where God has brought me, I cannot take the glory for myself.
I have had moments of weakness.
I have had moments of tears.
I have had moments when I felt like giving up.
But every time I thought I was finished, God gave me another reason to continue.
Every time I fell, His grace lifted me.
Every time I became discouraged, He reminded me of the calling.
Every time I looked at the size of the assignment, He reminded me of the greatness of the One who called me.
Therefore, today I can say:
Thus far the Lord has helped me.
I am not where I am because I am perfect.
I am here because God is faithful.
I am not standing because I have never faced battles.
I am standing because God brought me through the battles.
I am not standing because I have always been strong.
I am standing because His grace has been sufficient.
LOOKING AHEAD
I believe the greatest chapter is still ahead.
My heart is still burdened for souls.
My heart is still burdened for families.
My heart is still burdened for Africa.
I believe God is raising a generation that will carry the Gospel with boldness, humility, integrity, and compassion.
My prayer is that Voice of Redemption Family Assembly will continue to be a voice of hope and redemption, and that GIGM Africa will continue to strengthen ministers and advance the Kingdom of God across the continent and beyond.
If there is one thing I want people to remember from my testimony, it is this:
Never give up on what God has spoken over your life.
Your beginning may be small.
Your resources may be limited.
Your journey may be difficult.
People may not understand you.
But if God has called you, His grace will carry you.
I am living proof that God can take an ordinary person, place an extraordinary assignment in their heart, and use them for His glory.
This is my testimony.
This is my journey.
And the story is still being written.
To God alone be all the glory.
