REPENTANCE
📍 Repentance happens when one first of all hears the word of God, recognises the need for salvation, accept that salvation by confession of their sins, which then leads in the same repentance.

THE CRIMINALS CRUCIFIED ALONGSIDE JESUS CHRIST

Luke 23:39-56 (NLT):
39. One of the criminals hanging beside him scoffed, “So you’re the Messiah, are you? Prove it by saving yourself—and us, too, while you’re at it!”
40. But the other criminal protested, “Don’t you fear God even when you have been sentenced to die?
41. *We deserve to die for our crimes, but this man hasn’t done anything wrong.”*
42. Then he said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your Kingdom.”
43. And Jesus replied, “I assure you, today you will be with me in paradise.”

📌You can't repent if you don't realize you need repentance

📌2 Corinthians 4:4 (NLT):
Satan, who is the god of this world, has blinded the minds of those who don’t believe. They are unable to see the glorious light of the Good News. They don’t understand this message about the glory of Christ, who is the exact likeness of God.*

📌God should help us recognize the need for repentance and living in purity

THREE TYPES OF PEOPLE
➡️ One who needs Repentance but has not yet recognised he needs it

➡️ One who recognises but does not repent

➡️ One who recognizes and repents

HINDRANCES TO REPENTANCE
➡️ The lust of the flesh
➡️ The lust of the eyes
➡️ The pride of life
1John.2.16 - For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.

📌 SOMEONE MIGHT BE IN THE PRESENCE,IN THE CHURCH,IN THE MINISTRY YET THEY ARE SINKING --- EVALUATE YOUR LIFE

Matthew 14:30-31 (NLT):
30. But when he saw the strong wind and the waves, he was terrified and began to sink. “Save me, Lord!” he shouted.
31. Jesus immediately reached out and grabbed him. “You have so little faith,” Jesus said. “Why did you doubt me?”

➡️ Peter could actually sink if he didn't call out for Jesus's help
➡️ You should call upon the name of the LORD of want salvation
➡️ Peter called the name of the lord when He was sinking

✅ Don't drown in the presence of God.... speak out,call upon the name of the LORD

✅ RECOGNITION AND ACCEPTANCE IS VERY IMPORTANT

🚩 Proximity does not automatically result to repentance

✅ May God help us not to love the roles we play in the church more than God Himself

NOTE,
- The Value of oil can be a stumbling block of you recognizing The Need for God - Judas Ischariot saw the value of the oil but not the repentance behind the oil ‼️‼️‼️ TO HIM,OIL BECAME A STUMBLING BLOCK,A HINDRANCE TO REPENTANCE ‼️‼️‼️

➡️ For us to experience the wonders of Prayers...We must lay a strong foundation of Repentanc
➡️ Christ Jesus died for your sin yes,but if you do not call on the name of the LORD (Recognize your need for salvation - Accept the salvation - Confess and Repent) then we shall stumble

✅ When we call on the name of the lord....we shall be saved

_POINTS TO CONSIDER_

• We are all candidates of doubled restoration,we need restoration

• God in His wisdom has an appointed time for our restoration - it doesn't matter what caused the loss, God is a game changer

• Joel 2:25 (NLT) The LORD says, “I will give you back what you lost to the swarming locusts, the hopping locusts, the stripping locusts, and the cutting locusts. It was I who sent this great destroying army against you.
-- God will give back/restore

• God restores not just material things but also time (Compressing years into a moment!)

• Isaiah 61:7 (NLT):
Instead of shame and dishonor, you will enjoy a double share of honor. You will possess a double portion of prosperity in your land, and everlasting joy will be yours
-- God can double what you lost

• Job 42:10 (NLT) When Job prayed for his friends, the LORD restored his fortunes. In fact, the LORD gave him twice as much as before!
-- Twice as much!

• Zechariah 9:12 (NLT) Come back to the place of safety, all you prisoners who still have hope! I promise this very day that I will repay two blessings for each of your troubles.
-- Two for one!

*WHY IS RESTORATION NEEDED?*
1. Because loss is real

*a) Sources of loss*
• Stealing by the enemy
• Ignorance
• Wrong decisions
• Spiritual attacks
• Seasons of life

*NOTE,*
*Not everything we lose is God's Will*

*HOW TO ENCOUNTER DOUBLED RESTORATION*
---- ✅_Restoration begins with alignment_
*I) Returning to God*
Zechariah 1:3 (NLT) Therefore, say to the people, ‘This is what the LORD of Heaven’s Armies says: Return to me, and I will return to you, says the LORD of Heaven’s Armies.’
---- _One reason that makes many people fail to return to God is pride_

MATTHEW 28:2-7
