Beware of “solution-marketing” ministries. This is one of the clearest warning signs of a false expression of the Church, especially in our generation.
What Jesus ultimately gives is not merely solutions He gives LIFE. His life is the fountain from which He calls men to drink and thirst no more.
The gospel was never primarily about finding solutions to the problems of this present life. Yes, Christ helps us. He delivers, provides, heals, strengthens, and gives grace. But He also gives us grace to endure suffering without being moved from our faith, even when we must suffer for His name.
One of the marks of a false disciple, therefore, is solution-seeking rather than Christ-seeking. When men follow Jesus principally because they want their earthly problems solved, they have misunderstood the call of the gospel.
Any solution to the problems of this life that has not first addressed the problem of sin and death can ultimately become a distraction from the true purpose of Christ.
Seek Jesus not merely what Jesus can solve.
Beware.
