River of Life

リバーオブライフの日曜礼拝（日本語と英語のバイリンガル）は、午前10時30分から一時間半ほどです。コンテンポラリーな賛美、人生に役に立つ実践的な聖書からの話があります。 We believe God is interested in your heart, not your wardrobe.

Our Sunday service is held at 10.30am, in the River of Life building, and is completely bilingual. It lasts about 90 minutes, and contains contemporary praise and practical teaching that can be applied directly to your life.

また、話の間は「ブライト・ホープ・セル」という楽しくクリエイティブなこどもたちのプログラムもあります。イエスを模範とした生き方、考え方を学び、豊かな心を育て、またどうやって周りにインパクトを与えて生きることを学びます。/We also provide a fun, creative and friendly children’s program

me, called ‘Bright Hope Cell,’ which runs at the same time as our main service. During the cell the children learn how to develop their character and live like Jesus, and how they can impact the world around them!

礼拝にどんな服を着て行くかを迷う必要はありません。ドレスアップしてきてもカジュアルな普段着でも構いません。神様はあなたの服装ではなく、心に興味をもっています。/There is no dress code in the River of Life, so you can “dress up” if you want to, or wear casual clothes.

2016年１月31日、デイミアン＆詩子牧師を祝福して送り出すことができました。神さまに感謝です。２人が今まで教会や私たちのためにしてくれた全てを感謝します。礼拝後は、感謝パーティのひと時をもち、皆で一緒に楽しく過ごせました。次のステップは何か、御心を求めているグレイトリー家のために続けてお祈りください。/Thank God we could send pastor Damian and Utako with blessing. We are just so grateful to them what they have done for us and church. Also we had a good time together after service in thank you party. Please keep praying for them as they are seeking God's will what is the next step.

既にご存知の方もいると思いますが、神さまの導きにより、グレイトリー家がリバーオブライフ教会から動き、次のシーズンへ向かうことになりました。今月末、１月31日が最後になります。31日は、いつも通り10時半から特別礼拝の後、12時過ぎ頃からささやかですが感謝会を持ちます。それぞれ持ち寄った軽食などを食べながら、教会で一緒に交わりの時を持ちましょう。そして彼らの高松での13年間の働きとミニストリーに感謝し、お祝いしたいと思います。来られる方はぜひいらしてください。どなたでも大歓迎です！As many of you already know, God is moving the 'Grateley' family on from The River of Life International Christian Church at the end of this month. On Sunday 31st January we will be hosting a special service to celebrate their thirteen years of ministry in Takamatsu. The service will begin at 10:30am, and will be followed by an informal party. Please come if you can, anyone is welcome!

聖書は個別な話の集まりではありません。どの話もどの登場人物
もより優れた偉大な方を指し示しています。アダムとエバの話はただ、
「人類最初の男と女」というだけではありません。アダムに勝る素晴
らしい方、ゲツセマネの園で試みに打ち勝った方がいます。アベルに
勝る素晴らしい方、私たちの無罪と解放のために、血を流した方が
います。アブラハムに勝る素晴らしい方、新しい民を神さまのために
作るため、居心地良い場所を去った方がいます。イサクに勝る素晴ら
しい方、自分の父親によってだけではなく、私たち全ての人のために
捧げられた方がいます。ヤコブに勝る素晴らしい方、私たちが裁か
れるべき義を戦い、恵みをくれた方がいます。過越の羊に勝る素晴ら
しい方、私たちが死を免れるために殺され、罪がなく、完璧で、誰に
も助けられなかった人がいるのです。聖書は個別に存在している
話の集まりではありません。どの話も、イエスさまを指し示しています。

The Bible is not a series of disconnected stories. Every story and
every character points to One who is greater. The story of Adam
and Eve is not about the first man and woman. There is a better
Adam who past the test in the Garden of Gethsemane. There is a
better Abel whose blood was shed for our aquittal. There is a
better Abraham who left all that was comfortable in order to create
a new people for God. There is a better Isaac who wasn’t only
offered up by his father, but was sacrificed for us all. There is a
better Jacob who wrestled with the justice we deserve, so we are
left with grace. There is a better passover lamb, innocent, perfect,
helpless, slain so that death will passover us. The Bible is not a series of disconnected stories. It is a single story which points to Jesus!

時々、「相応しい」と「相応しくない」ことを無意識に分けて考えていま
せんか？未亡人、孤児、虐待された人たちなど、自分の選択ではなく
そのような状態になった人々に対しては、喜んで手助けできるでしょ
う。しかし、ドラッグ中毒、アルコール中毒など自分の選択で、そのよ
うな状態に陥っている人々に対して手を差し伸べていますか？聖書
全体を通して、神さまは基本的な責任問題に分け隔てなく、困ってい
る人々を心から気にかけています。「正しい人にも正しくない人にも
雨を降らせてくださる」（ﾏﾀｲ５：４５）もちろん、ある人が良くない態
度をとっていて、助けることがその人のためにはならないなら、助け
を控えることもあります。しかし、たとえ彼ら自身の罪の結果であった
としても、その人が傷つき、苦しんでいるなら、神さまはその人を気
にかけるということを覚えておいてください。

Do you sometimes unconsciously distinguish between the ‘deserving’ and the ‘undeserving’? You might happily help those who haven’t contributed to their difficulties: such as widows, orphans, and the abused. But are you reluctant to reach out to drug addicts, alcoholics, and those whose lifestyle choices have contributed to the mess they’re now in? Throughout the bible, God is concerned for those in need, without discriminating on the basis of responsibility. He sends rain on the just and the unjust (Matthew 5:45). Of course, sometimes it is wise to withhold help from individuals because it would enable them to continue in their destructive behaviour. However, we must remember that even when a person’s painful situation is a direct result of their own sin, God still cares for them.
